I honestly hope this started as her dream and still is HER dream. This just feels like she's become a modern day Julia Pastrana. Exploiting people is wrong, even if they don't feel exploited.

@@lasvegas89032 you won't understand unless you have someone like that you grew up with. My cousin always talks with me while we play and he gestures to me to finish his sentences. Think of it as a guessing game. It's fun bc we d pretend that we have magical bonds that lets us hear eachother s thoughts. Aaaah childhood was guud. Nobody made fun of him back then when we went out for a play day but nowadays, I don't socialize with him anymore because everyone s so mean to him, his mom shut him off the outside. Now he s only with people with the same disability as him. I hope he s happy. He was a lovely, fun, cute and wholesome

Jake elwafi i just feel bad for the girl. The modeling industry is brutal. And i feel like they are only using her to be trendy. Not taking her seriously. And her mom is sort of pushing the modeling thing. She always speaks for her. She is young... the modeling world is heartless and merciless and could easily take advantage of her. I just hope she is able to have a normal life outside of modeling and this doesnt take up her whole life

I understand what you mean, but this isn’t about the mother, she is an inspiration to many people with a disability or with relatives with disabilities “my brother has autism” because it shows that despite her having Down syndrome, she can be beautiful and have some independence. Ever since my brother was a baby, agencies have asked him to model for them since he’s actually really cute with blonde, curly hair and green eyes. People don’t know he has autism at first because you can’t tell based on how he looks and he’s always getting compliments. He’s a really happy and sweet boy even though he has autism. He gets better and more independent everyday. His beauty is so obvious to everyone despite his autism.
Every child should be given the opportunity to be beautiful and independent no matter what. She deserves every wonderful thing other girls get to experience.

Some of these comments actually disgust me. I understand some parents use their children for fame and money but all of a sudden because this girl has a disability, automatically the mum's pinned as a monster. Just a tip to those out there, just because someone has a disability doesn't mean they are being taken adventage of. Try to imagine what it must be like seeing your son/daughter constantly stared at, made fun of or just generally unaccepted by the public. Look at how much Madeline has made a difference, yet instead lets all get judgy because we all cleary know what it's like to have down syndrome or have a loved one be socially unaccepted for their diability. I can't imagine the feeling of just wanting your child to have a happy life as they grow into adulthood yet knowing that no matter what just because of their disability they will never have that.
It must have been hard to make such a big decision to put her daughter out there for the whole world to judge, but knowing that that risk might be the thing that changes the game for people with down syndrome not to mention with disabilities in general. Instead she could just be as she said "over protective" and shield Madeline from any expeirences because, oh what would people say? Why can't she be a model, because she has down syndrome? Says a lot about your way of thinking, be a little open minded. People with disabilities aren't supposed to be hidden away from public view, their not animals.
