How to Pass the FAA TRUST Recreational Drone Exam | 2023 Tips

In this study guide video, I provide tips you need to know how to take and pass the FAA TRUST Recreation UAS Safety Test from start to finish. Since 2021, flying drones for fun recreationally requires hobbyist to pass the TRUST exam. The good news is that this exam is available online for free from multiple FAA-approved providers, takes about 20 to 30 minutes to complete and is easy to pass.

Be aware, if you plan on receiving any type of compensation from your drone footage/photos, recreational license does not work. You must take the FAA Part 107 exam to get your commercial drone license. For instance, if you plan on recording and using drone footage on your monetized CZcams channel, the recreational drone license is insufficient. You will have to get the commercial certificate instead.
The part 107 exam is a bit more involved and requires a number of hours of study and practice.
