thanks for the resources. Passed with 80%. I just want to leave a comment here for others studying to take it...there were a bunch of questions on there that in my own study I had not come across & was not prepared for... make sure you know about: functions of a plane's rudder (what it does), know about aft & how weight in relation to it can influence the aircraft, hyperventilation, & shapes of clouds & what that means (rain cloud etc) nimbus clouds, lenticular cloud. Hope this helps others. I'd recommend studying the 'Remote Pilot Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide' by the FAA it is 88 pages (good stuff)
How many tests or questions ? How do you gain hand on experience ?
Jeremy. Pensacola, FL. Passed the test with an 88% using this video as my primary resource.
Expect lots of Sectional Chart questions.
Thanks for the help!
Thank you, very helpful. I like that you speak in a precise manner, no "FAA kinda wants you to know" etc.
Super helpful! Thanks for the research and work to assemble this.
Great video! I'm studying to take the 107 for the first time. It was very helpful.
Thanks gonna join can’t wait to learn more to add drone photography to my business
Thanks for the information, study guide, and practice test.
Thanks!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for the condensed version of the supplement-very helpful! Great video, I was certified in 2019, but going for my P107 soon-I did pretty good, base on your video, but need to brush up on some areas. Thanks again!
You are welcome
I just passed mine today, and all the questions I had was from CZcams videos, and practice tests.
Which practice exams did you use ?
You move fast but this is super helpful for someone who is already familiar with all of this and needs a refresher. I love how you matter-of-factly break down their questions. A lot of it is automatic once you understand the way they frame the questions.
Very helpful, thank you!
This review was super helpful. Passed with an 85! Thank you.
How long did you study each day ?
Thank you! A few of these ?s I was unsure of and you cleared it up for me!
Glad to help
So concise and logically explained. I didn't think I'd ever see these qualities again on a youtube video. Seriously, Thank you. For my licensing, and my sanity.
Very useful! Thanks for the tips and explanations!
Glad to help
42. Is C
( read 14 CFR 48.110 section (a) #6 )
good catch! :) I'm creating a test prep coures and looking for course tester. If interested I' be happy to have you :)
I was just coming here to say that also!
Thank you, sir.
Super useful and thank you so much.
Glad to help
Thank god you explained how to differentiate MSL and AGL. I was trying to remember the classes that use AGL and all that but just remembering its in parenthesis is 100x easier
This video was very valuable while prepping for my exam. Thank you so much for the content!!
Glad to help
How did you do, how much did you study before taking the test?
Thank you for the video. I just passed the Part 107 test and it had maybe 10 questions from all the question banks and videos out there. There was maybe 20 questions chart related and many questions on new info not even in FAA study guide like foreigner with drone ID and many other remote ID, new fly over people, weight category3 of drones questions. Questions on chart were different and some small airports based structures were hard to find. But having all the info helped!
Congrats
Facts
Love when test makers include things that aren't in study guides
What were the new info questions
Thank you.
I'm getting my part 107 pilot's license again after a couple years and this was the perfect video to brush up on what I had forgotten. Thanks for providing this awesome video!
Glad to help
You have to take the same test every two years?
@@Amcacs5654 yes every 2 years you have to renew
@@official_cabes You have to go back to the same testing facility and take the same exact test? You can’t do it online or anything?
@Amcacs5654 renewal can be done online.
Great video!!! I'm taking the certification soon and subscribed. Made my Day!!
Glad to help. We have even more videos on the 107 on our patreon
@@HalfChrome thanks. which membership can I see all the videos?

thank you so much
Glad to help. Check out my other 107 videos.
Thanks for the content. Got my part 107 today and found your videos helpful. One thing I would maybe mention is I had 3 to 5 questions about airplanes that I had no idea how to answer. Haven't seen anyone on youtube talk about the things I was asked about. Thanks again for the great content!
how much did you study before taking the test?
I studied for two weeks. Probably spent about 20 hours total on it. I had notes everywhere lol @@echelon-thepanamanian_papi6144
Do you remember what kind of questions about airplanes you had?
There were a few about center of gravity and there was some chart they showed that I've never seen anywhere before and I feel like there were a few others. My apologies I took it a month or so ago and have pretty much forgotten most of the test by now. Because you know... The content is mostly useless. lol@@alexaartis2186
I took the test recently after watching several videos and taking several online practice tests. I would say the actual time I devoted to study was about 6 hours. Passed with a 90%+. Not a single question from the practice tests I took was in the actual test. The actual test was trickier with wording in my opinion; that or the practice tests I found online simply use slightly different language. It often left me a little uncertain about answers. There were also several questions I never saw covered in any depth in those videos and practice tests, or covered at all, resulting in me having to guess. (Almost certainly the bulk of those I got wrong.)
That being said I was able, from using that material and doing my own research to fill in perceived gaps, to get a passing grade.
Good luck.
Edit: I came across at least one site that gave me a bogus low score on a practice test in an apparent effort to sell its test prep. Some also had grammatical errors and the questions and answers seemed dubious.
Is the depth of the questions in this video the same as the depth in the real test? pleeeeeeeeeeeeease reply soon
@user-lq5cq7nl6b yes.
@@user-lq5cq7nl6b I would say this is similar. Yes.
Taking the exam in 2 weeks, great video!
what practice test did you take?
So my study course disagrees with your answer for #42 they are very clear that the answer is C. Here is there explanation. 14 CFR Part 47 requires standard remote and broadcast module identification to be listed on no more than one Certificate of Registration at one time.
Does anyone have a link to where, I can download the FAA-CT-8080-2H study guide?
At question 8 deciding the floor at the shelf area would be always the bottom #? 41/13 1,300 feet msl? unless noted AGL
Jack, thank you so much for this walk-through and explanation of some of the questions. By watching your video, I feel so much prepared for my Part 107 Knowledge test tomorrow. Thank you for posting this video. 🙌
I’m glad to help. Good luck
@@HalfChrome Thank you so much!
Did you pass? Just curious lol
@easyefpv6609 Hello there. Fortunately, I did pass. One more wrong and I would've been toasted. I got a 70%. 😅
Pass is pass
Nice video
Thanks. Hope it was helpful
Question 1346 on page 1-16 of the Remote Pilot 2023 Test Prep book is the same as your question 42 but they say the correct answer is "C--The Certificate of Aircraft Registration." You say it is A--The aircraft's Document of Compliance." Several internet sites also say "C" and the FAA website implies it is "C". Does anybody know the correct answer for sure???
This is a great tool. It's definitely helpful, so thank you. It's pretty obvious from these questions that the FAA just doesn't want people to get the license. Especially when they throw in gramatically incorrect vocabulary, like calling it "Low Density" Altitude vs. what they should have called it "Low Altitude" Density. It just seems like they intentionally reversed it so that you would get the answer wrong even if you fully understand that air density decreases with altitude and that would obviously have a negative impact on prop-efficiency.
When i first did the practice test I flew through that question without hesitation. Then I got it wrong lol. I was so confused at the horrible choice of wording when he described it here.
24:44 How do you know it's to 1500 AGL? Is that the standard altitude for military training routes?
Thank you for taking the time to make this quick study video. We understand that it is an introduction to your comprehensive courses. Nevertheless, your thoughtful approach and cheerful attitude is greatly appreciated.
Thank you Jack for your really helpful video! I'm gonna support you for sure. I have a question for you, maybe a missed something, but, is the supplement chart provided at the exam or do we need to buy it somewhere? Thank you.
They will give it to you when you take the test. You can download a copy. Follow the link in the video description
@@HalfChrome Thank you Jack!!!
According to the ASA-TP-UAS-23 the unmanned aircraft’s serial number must be listed on the certificate of aircraft registration. You answered the aircraft’s document of compliance
Just checked my registration and document of compliance. Serial # is only on the DOC.
@9:08 wow these questions are super specific. Are we allowed to use a printed guide like this during the test?
Yes. They give you the full one.
Although you are technically correct, I believe the answer the FAA is wanting for Question 42 is actually C, the Certificate of Aircraft Registration. At least that's what other study guides and a look through the guidelines have told me. Tell me if I am wrong, as I have my exam tomorrow and would really like to pass!
I’m personally not sure but I’m sending ya luck and hope you do well tomorrow
did you pass?
@@jankatealfonso3891 I did pass, with a 98%!
@@rocksandrocks are the questions similar?
Nice work
Studying for my exam now. Getting creamed. LOL Great video.
Good luck
Great video! Also, it's pronounced Core Da Lane!
Good to know
How true to the test are these questions ? I am terrible at taking test, but this video helped with the understanding of many questions!
Pretty close to some actually questions.
The test is surprisingly different from the FAA's sample questions. They completely change the wording and have many different versions with different wording. Interestingly, some questions will be identical, but you absolutely cannot just memorize the sample questions and pass the test
Wish you would highlight the correct answer. Sometimes I had to go back 2 or 3 times to listen again to determine to correct answer
can you use anything to help you while taking the part 107 test? because how are we suppose to refer to a chart if we dont have it during the test?
You get an entire packet. Have a condensed version. Check links in video description.
Reading through these comments it is insane how hostile everyone is being. Thank you for this guide, I'll be using this in my arsenal and ignore the haters.
Dude needs to slow the f down
@4:26 its Coeur d' Alene (CORE da LANE)
Thanks. My French is terrible
I took the prescribe test. Question 29. The answer according to website prescribe test is “the manufacture “ is responsible for performance of the UAS. You state it’s the remote pilot here.
Passed with a 92% today. Thank you!
Congrats
In the US, if I have a drone weighing more than .55lbs but I am purely a recreational flyer need to be registered but I do not need the part 107? Once I want to earn money from it though, I need it correct? So I need to register my Avata 2 but not my Mini 4 if I am understanding correctly. That had been really confusing me because I kept seeing all this stuff about staying under 249 grams but then most of the FPV drones are over that.
That is accurate.
42. Where must a small unmanned aircraft’s serial number be listed when using either
standard remote identification or a broadcast module?
A. The aircraft’s Document of Compliance.
B. The manufacturer’s Method of Compliance.
C. The Certificate of Aircraft Registration.
You said the answer is A, since we have to put the aircraft's Serial number into the registration of the Aircraft I'm wondering why the answer isn't C?
I messed it up too, "Core-de-Lane".
Your answer to question 42 was wrong: When using a remote ID, that must be included in the Certificate of Aircraft Registration.
Good catch! I think he confused "document" with "declaration".
ps. I'm creating a test prep coures and looking for course tester. If interested I' be happy to have you :)
Found the same to be true. You're right.
Great video, very helpful. May i suggest putting ads between questions and not in the middle of them, i found myself rewinding quite a bit.
That’s a CZcams thing. I don’t get to choose
@@HalfChrome my bad stupid yt
Will be studying for awhile…
Good luck
I just want b roll footage for my youtube channel... This test seems crazy over excessive to fly a little $200 drone
Yes. I agree
Why are you rushing through it?
Why is the air density counterintuitive?
It's intuitive when viewing the concept from the angle of altitude/height rather than pressure. Considering most aircraft won't be flying at heights where they lose air pressure to a critical degree (such as space flight), air pressure doesn't play as much of a role in flying as altitude does. As such, the FAA bases the air pressure notation around altitude instead of pressure.
Another question about the latitude and longitude., the 101degrees 26 min west i understand, but when you go to the 47 degrees, 26 Minutes North, You went to the left and went south, Question 24. I'm really lost on this, Please clarify. i Appreciate it.
Latitude lines run horizontal but measure N/S. Longitude lines run vertical but measure E/W
So question watching this video and remembering everything you went through should i be able to pass?
If you understand it all but these are just sample questions.
@@HalfChromeso they just be reworded basically so if you understand the sample questions and the concept you should be good on real test or should we read the big book that the faa provides?
The wording of the phrase "High Density Altitude" is extremely confusing. The literal meaning of the phrase as written is that such an altitude (whatever that may be) IS "High (or low) Density"! After reading your answer, it sounds like to me the phrase would be better written, "The air density at a high Altitude vs one at a low Altitude." No wonder this test is so difficult to pass! (And that's only in the first few questions!) .....
Sorry. Not my language.
You’ve never heard of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho????😂😂😂😂. sorry just sounded super fancy when you said it 😂😂
and i mean no disrespect. i just found it funny because i butcher names trying to pronounce them
None taken. I’m definitely guilty of butchering a name or two in my day
i think i had same exact questions on my test but i failed for 1 point :(
This video is extremely helpful. But how sure are you on your answers being correct. Do you have verification that they are correct or are you mostly sure that they are correct?
26:52 "all small civilians"
it seems the instructor insinuated the answer for #28 was A but isn't the answer is C?
Answer to #6 should be "C" not "A"; according to the FAA Remote Pilot - Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide, Page 50 under Vision & Flight (Scanning Techniques). "To scan effectively, pilots must look from right to left or left to right."
Which I see now the above is in conflict with AIM 8-1-6. . .seems to me that the AIM is more for manned aircraft? A tad bit of a mystery. hmmmmmmmmm
High density air = thin and low density air = thick?? i'm not sure you know what density means... or maybe the FAA doesn't. if i'm wrong here, please eli5?
High density refers to air at a higher altitude which contain fewer molecules of air. And low density has more molecules, closer to the ground. This is the way the FAA sees it and so it's important to know what they mean and how they define air.
@@theweddingdepartmentas someone that is an engineer this is going to fuck me up because density in our terms means the amount of molecules in a given volume so high density means more molecules when it comes to engineering.
Now if they made getting a drivers license this difficult the roads would be safer
Do you think it might be possible to wing it and maybe squeak by with a 70%? 😅
If you are a pilot or somehow randomly understand airspace or METAR charts sure. But this test would be nearly impossible for most people to wing successfully.
@@HalfChrome I'm neither of those but the thought of trying it anyways still lingers in the back of my mind.

How long did you take to study and schedule the test ?
@@Kreative-Introvert I studied for 7 days, but I have also been doing RC planes since 1986, so that helped. I had multiple choices for a test date. Took it at PSI. They have several locations here in AZ, so that made it fast. I brought my own basic calculator & magnifying glass, but they provided them for me.
on the maps can you tell me what the big number and the small numbers are on the maps?
There are lots of numbers. Can you be more specific?
I got the most dumbest question on the FAA test asking how many days do I report to FAA when I sell my drone and no where I can find the answer.
30 days

Boom
Not seeing a sample test!

your runways are 180 degrees out of phase
alot of the questions are common sense?
Some are. Airspace is not
One cannot depend on CZcams to study for 107. The FAA is hip to all this and to reliably pass, one must know all the material. There are multiple tests, each very different. The one I took was heavy on airspace. The one my friend took, very little on airspace.
Yea my test gave me like 30 questions on airspace
Speak for ur self i got a 92 by watching yt and Google
You absolutely can. Passed yesterday with a 90. Only watched Tony Northrup's video, this one, and another that brought me up to speed to the recent changes to night operations, drone categories etc. Maybe 3-5 hours total. This is by far the easiest exam I've ever taken.
One can depend on a well rounded study plan to pass the exam, including CZcams and Google. :)

This is a practice test
is this pretty accurate to the difficulty of the actual test? If so this test is going to be stupid easy to pass.
You have question 42 wrong, the answer is C.
Hello. His answer was right. It's even written in the National Archives Code of Federal Regulations.
(i) The unmanned aircraft used in the operation must be equipped with a remote identification broadcast module that meets the requirements of § 89.320 and the serial number of the remote identification broadcast module must be listed on an FAA-accepted declaration of compliance.
@@wilfredoyvanessaNow I'm completely confused 😂

Nobody’s perfect.
Is this video still relevant as of June of 2024?
Yes. Same test
Decent presentation however, you went too fast on several questions, granted not a class but a lot of times I had to keep going back to understand exactly what you meant. We all learn differently so what may be ok with some may not help others slow down a little and take a little more time breaking things down
I understand. I absolutely did go quickly. I recommend hitting the gear icon and slowing it down to .75.
@Half Chrome I did my friend just a suggestion remember everyone learn differently get it on the first shot but not bad just giving constructive feedback
I appreciate it. Thanks.
You are not supposed to smack while using A microphone!
I’m not going to lie never been the best test taker, reading these other comments is kind of scary. People are talking about material they weren’t prepared for, to me that’s on the FAA and this trash system they have set up for us. Half of this stuff “seems” useless..I’m trying to take pictures of houses…..like.. and yet they are gimmicky with the study guide…
Yup
I look forward to the day we all come together to abandon, ignore, and disregard all of this alphabet soup nonsense.
Drone testing covering airspace floor/ceiling, tower freqs, etc is just stupid. Who cares, and HTF does it affect a drone flight in the USA???
400ft max agl and get laanc approval (that will give you an alternate max agl in the approval text) in controlled space.
Pretty damn simple. No need for all the other garbage.
Hated when I got my sport pilot and had to learn VOR's and other such antiquated nonsense that sport pilots will certainly never use.
Its like going to get your drivers license, and getting tested on backing up trailers and use of air brakes...
Complete BS for the requirements/skills needed.
I tend to agree. But I don’t make the rules.
Good information up to question 42 when you got it wrong. I stopped watching… you should delete your video as people are going to get that one wrong possibly thanks to you.
Slow the f down damn
There is a button for that
Can my parent do it for me but it’s still mine at 15?
You may take the test when you’re 14 years old but you will need to be 16 to be able to obtain a part 107 license.
You didn't really explain many of them, like critical angle of attack. I don't know what that is. Explain what each of the answers are and explain why the correct answer is correct.
