And valve adjustments originalscrew tappets tended to the exhaust valves over time always check on schedule and it will last. Put 60k on mine no issues with regular oil changes and valve adjustments. And UT spent most of its life between 8 grand and redline. Tough ass motor
That's a lot of fcking work. My 94 GPX600R has done about 70k km soon with no worries, no leaks or anything. Have to add about 0.3L every 5,000km, hopefully will make it to 100,000km

A word about nitro thinner: The stuff leaves behind a minimum film of oily substance that can spoil your paint jobs. Add to that that it's very much not good for your health, some of its ingredients are cancerogenic. For preparing surfaces and reliably and totally degreasing them isopropyl alcohol is a much more efficient cheaper and healthier option. It irritates your bronchies as well but is much less harmful in long term effects. There's also naphtha for removing oil residues. Not nearly as problematic as the nitro gunk.
Had 85 ninja 600 had this motor n 5 yrs put 60k miles on it not one part ever failed or was replaced. I see you said restoration cause a rebuild would be over kill on this anvil of a engine. You cannot hardly break them unless you never maintain them or run them out of oil. Mine saw redline many times daily ad it was my daily ride. Mechanic when he did last valve adjust took pic of top end with valve cover off, he said this was the highest mileage 600 he had seen and looked as clean as ones with 5k miles. great strong kawasaki motor, never should have sold it. Would kill to have the little red rocket still.
Can only agree but I bet where he is in the world getting said items is far more of a job than an order in UK. Less of a risk than rtv I would have thought it that stuff gets loose and blocks an oil way O Lord!
You don´t use a paper gasket between the crankcase halves; you use liquid gasket and/or RTV sealant depending on location. He used paper gaskets on the transmission cover and oil pan. He did not show what he did on the rest of the engine covers but guess that paper gaskets were used.
These really were a good old engine, would go on forever with regular oil/filter changes!

Fantastyczna robota. Gratuluję. Ta wiedza mi się przyda w moim GPX 600 R.
I'm disappointed you didn't show putting the cylinder body on. An important part.
Nice video, like the tool u made for the valves, small mod. u can weld a small bearing where the stems go so it will spin easy
