LYRICS
Walk soft with a big stick
When I play guitar it’s sick
This is the definition of flow
Nobody cold as this
California snow Never let me go
Cuz I’m down Yes i’m down if you’re down
California snow Never let me go
Back in 30 minutes
High as i can get it
Give me everything you got
I can move a mountain
Solve a thorny problem
Lava's gonna flow so hot
Never worry bout tomorrow
Cuz i’m Living for today
If you see a tear fall
Don’t worry bout me, ya’ll
This is what it’s like on top
Never go against the family
All i ever had to do is sing
Never go against the family
When the root is strong the root is sweet
Did you ever get to be a child
Shake it up until it hurts
Panic attack, stay the hell back
It's me and you against the world
C’mon judas give me a kiss
I can’t take no more of this
Don’t nobody look at me
Just nail me up by the wrists - Hudba
THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF FLOW
WOO
NOBODY COLD AS THIS
WOO
Those "woo"s just crack me up by I'll also probably listen to this frequently
I love old Weezer too, but Weezer is so prolific that I like them experimenting with more modern sounds. This song is better than other modern pop rock songs, so just enjoy! This is what Raditude should have been.
ZackScottGames Well said
Exactly. People will always complain no matter what.
Hey it's the meme guy..haha..I saw your spongebob meme on twitter
Pop rock was the most painful thing that ever happened to rock and punk because my lord, its not even rock anymore at that point.
This song is ALMOST as shitty as I am a person. And I've done some HORRIBLE things I. My life.
Just like current modern Weezer songs... This song sucks until I listen long enough to go "you know, its not that bad. I'm digging it actually".
thats what happened with feels like summer
That's what happened with "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived." And now, I love that song. Still can't listen to "Heart Songs" but man... Rivers like a mage with a magic spell
@@danielleasaurus I love Heart Songs, what don't you like about it?
Dude this is literally me with Weezer songs. I gotta force myself to listen a little longer
@@smokestack534 Feels Like Summer>California Snow
Tbh I thought it was actually pretty good. Rivers has been wanting to do this type of music for awhile and he finally has which actually I could see myself listening to this all the time good job guys 👏🏼👏🏼
Damn, when I'm 48 years old, I hope I'm still making music, that's all I can say, honestly. Rivers, keep on doing you, man.
Most people don't appreciate modern Weezer, but I absolutely love there new music because I love music like this. I'm a fan of Indie and Alternative, along with pop and other similar genres
This is the Weezer song you play when you have Drake fans in your car
Yeah, "Weezer song"
BoximusPrime 10 😂
You. i like you.
im sorry you have drake fans for friends
iamihop HAHAHAHAH
Contrary to popular opinion, as it seems, I think it is a nice song
Wayne Rooney I agree.
One of the best of their new work which mostly is poor
What is popular opinion?? Am confused i unironically love these ole songs . Is it even possible to not like a weezer song?
I love this song it is kinda like if white album and pacific daydream had a Awesome baby...this would be it!!! I love this so much keep up the great work Weezer!
Weezer has been known to try different sounds or styles with their music. I like it! Why should they sound the same every album?
Hater's are going to hate Rivers, just keep it up and ignore them.
I think some of the commenters are idiots saying it’s trash without anything constructive but it’s a bad idea to dismiss everyone as a hater because people are allowed and are supposed to use the dislike button and comment section to express their feelings and tell weezer what they do and don’t like.
The main reason most Weezer fans have issues with Rivers experimenting is Raditude
I dont care what they say about us anyways
The chord when the word “world” is being sung at 2:19 gives me life.. I love it sm
I know other people don't care for this but I appreciate whatever Weezer puts out because they still keep going and I'm glad they continue to make music because to me it's better to have this new music from them than none at all, plus even if it sounds generic and uninspired they still make it sound catchy asf.
And I'm in love. Again.RIVERS HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO DO THAT!!?!?
People saying this sounds like disco have never actually listened to disco. Theres no way
I think those people are referencing his lyrics from Back to the Shack:
*I though I'd get a new audience,
I forgot that disco sucks* (His passed few albums before that had a real electronic/poppy vibe nobody really liked, also quoting the 'Disco sucks' chant from the early 80's)
We’re just being weezer geeks and making obscure references.
@@meowmasterL346 back to the shack is the weakest song on the album, that's is also being contradicted by "I've had it up to here", where he talks about fans that gave up on weezer in the 2005-2010 times.
You just have to listen it again and again, Now i'm liking it the difference in this one.
i stayed up so late on a school night for this and i’m not disappointed at all. #dedication 😤
Really cool instrumental. Really uninspired lyrics. hard to call it "definition of flow" when 40% of the song is a single verse repeated.
I feel like "really cool instrumental. Really uninspired Lyrics" describes most recent Weezer songs.
AYY JUSTYN
FUNKe takes you 3 years to make a video but half a second to make heartfelt comment about a weezer song.....
Reasonable.

Yeet that Skeet nice pfp
This is what I love from Weezer, no matter how good/bad their songs are, these songs don't wear off.
Dang! This, as well as the rest of the record, grows on you. It's rare to listen to an entire album from start to finish these days, this being an exception :)
weezer: h
everyone: blablabla old weezer good new weezer bad peepeepoopoo
I love this.
Loving this,,, classic rivers
I love it. It may not sound like them but as long as it’s still Rivers on vocals, Brian on guitar, Scott on bass, and Pat on drums then I’m hyped for a new Weezer song, this is great! Love that bass at the end too.
I don't think Pat is playing drums here.
I actually think this is the catchiest song of all their singles so far
Such a great solid tune. Classic. Good job bro.
Whole album, I love it. Said and done, deal with it
There is a pertinent quote by my favorite prose poet Russel Edson which certainly applies to Rivers: “Everyone tries to be different until the moment arrives when they are all the same.”
yeah but like black album please
Tommy Ruggeri Lucky for you, this was witten for the Black Album! It feels like they’re releasing it ever so slowly.
NevlinOnMC i hope this isn’t what black album will sound like

Absolute banger 😍
I like this song a lot. When I started college I was listening to it on loop.
Wasn't too keen on this song initially but after some repeated listenings I think it is pretty dope! When the second rap section comes in with the beat after the bridge its so dope!
It’s already a bop
This made my day
This will make a pretty mellow Rivers acoustic, can't wait for that
Catchy... Wooo!
Its not a terrible song. I really love the chorus but im not a big fan of the verses. I honestly dont think it deserves all the hate because its a pretty ok song.
"California Snow" debuted at #29 on the New Alternative 40 Chart this week!
This is sooooo stuck in my head
I love this song!!
I went to their concert it was fire 🔥
this is doppeeee
Love it! Keep doing what y’all are doing!
i'm a 43 year old dude who's been a fan of weezer since day one, and i dig this. sure, it's different, but is that really such a bad thing? like, it's still clearly weezer. also, another unpopular opinion, the movie Spell is pretty great.
You guys need to let Pinkerton go
@@dimdimmc551 bro imagine how good the new music could be if everyone liked Pinkerton back then.
@@quandaledingle1179
They would still go down the same route. If everybody loved Pinkerton Rivers would get tired of making well more Pinkerton. So he would still experiment, fans and critics would still get angry, same Weezer.
Honestly I don't know why this song received so much backlash. I actually liked it!
Awesome!
There it is. Yes!
I like it. Not my fav but it's not trash. It's a single for a film so I doubt their new music will be like this for those of you who are upset.
oooooohhh this did not age well
Big oof
Well......
I was promised Midnight in the city, not 8:00 o'clock in the club.

This grew on me a ton I hated it when I first listened but now I appreciate it a lot, especially when listened to in context of the atom
what's everyone talking about? this song is pretty good, better than a lot of songs on pacific daydream for sure
Yay!
You're first comment. Bless your soul
braden dunn thank you for blessing me 💕
braden dunn we also have the same last name dude
Love it.
Love this!!
It isn't Weezer if they don't sing a song about California.
so i guess Blue, Pinkerton, Green, Maladroit, Make Believe, Red, Raditude, Hurley, and EWBAITE arent weezer
Yeah, I'm waiting for them to collab with RHCP, it'll be the epitome of California
Wait, that's RHCP
You ever heard of Red Hot Chili Peppers?
new weezer fans are worst weezer fans
Okay so let’s talk about this song, because a quick swab of the comments shows A LOT of people don’t get it.
So it’s a bit of serious parody, told from the perspective of a career celebrity or or rapper. He preceded the “definition of flow” line with “when I play guitar it’s sick”, a line specifically chosen to be stilted and weird, the opposite of flow. He was trying to show you that he’s doing this on purpose.
The lyrics are then designed to continue from the perspective of this celebrity until the last verse, where the celebrity is having a full-on breakdown as a result of their life being out of control. The road from here to there is filling in a whole bunch of typical rap sentiments while gradually letting the cracks show.
Even the “woo”s, clearly kind of done in jest in the first place; rather than just recording one “woo” and looping it, there are TWO SEPARATE “woo”s. One normal one, and a weaker, less confident, less in-tune one after it. This had to be done deliberately because there’s no reason not to just loop it if you weren’t doing that on purpose.
I don’t think the song is about any one person, but I think it really aligns pretty well with the existential troubles Justin Bieber was having a few years back, along with his general life trajectory.
I’m not saying anyone HAS to be impressed with this structure, although I definitely am, but I’m kind of sick of the “WHY ROCK MAN SAY ‘FLOW’ BUT USE DUMB WORDS” sentiment.
My ears don't care what you have to justify with words.
Does it sound good? No.
So you dislike the music as a whole? I mean, that’s fine, but I don’t feel that way at all, even putting analysis aside.
And this song is way better executed than Can’t Stop Partying, and is worth doing if for no reason other than that.
This is a song, not a movie. Context and analysis might help you understand and better appreciate a movie, especially if you didn't understand what you were watching. If a song doesn't sound good, no amount of critique and insight into the writing process can change that. If I wanted to listen to 21 Pilots, I'd go listen to them. This is overproduced, commercialized, sugary radio garbage.
This isn't a song you have to "get." lol It's Weezer not Radiohead or Mozart.
MY NEW JAM
I like the old stuff and this one as well.
Why’s everyone so negative? I think it’s fine. No it’s not the best but it’s not bad at all either. Also if this was made with a movie in mind then they’re also trying to fit certain scenes and stuff so it’s not always going to sound like stuff your use to and that’s fine. I mean Weezer is a versatile band that plays what they want and what they feel. I dunno, I guess I’m down for this even if it’s not normally what I’d listen to.
Feels like summer 2.0
the production is soooo heawy, i like it
YAAAAAAAS FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! I have not been disappointed! :D
Thank you Mr Weezer man
Everybody says this sucks because it's too different, but isn't what they said about Pinkerton? 🤔
Thank you!
But Pinkerton WASN'T different. This IS.
Of course Pinkerton is completely accepted today, so you wouldn't recognize it as different. But it was and still is a weird little album. Weezer is a weird band. Rivers Cuomo is a weird guy. I honestly don't understand why people haven't accepted that by now. People are still complaining about the lyrics in a Weezer song? Really? This is the same guy who wrote:
"Goddamn you half-Japanese girls
Do it to me every time
Oh, the redhead said you shred the cello
And I'm jello, baby"
@@erlineandrews Weird lyrics aren't bad. Bad lyrics are bad. These are bad.
1. People thought the lyrics in Pinkerton were "bad" as well. 2. I don't think the lyrics in this song are "bad". I think they're weird and I love their weirdness.
i can't take no more of this (woo)
I like this
Why do so many old guard fans hear a synth in a Weezer song and act like It’s the end of the world. Give the song a chance.
People act so entitled. Like they don't want to be put out or be made uncomfortable in the slightest way. They want the band to feed them exactly what they're used to every time. They don't want to try and meet the band halfway in experimenting with different sounds.
I can totally hear the 'Black' sound in this now. It's all over now.
EDIT: Thank god the album didn't reflect the vibe this song gave (really had low expectations), overall somewhat surprised by it and enjoying it so far.
I really like this album , the red album, and of course old blue
Bruh I love this song fr
It sounds like something from Hurley (on the first listen)
Edit 1:It sounds like a trap/hip hop song (second listen)
Edit 2:I'm moving my head to this.
Edit 3: CALIFORNIA SNOWWW, NEVER LET ME GOOOO

Definitely my favorite out of Weezer’s most recent material so far.
Good!!!
This is so dope
I'm going back to rocking out to the Blue Album...
Cya
Yes my man yes!
Great music!
cracking tune
this is better than the new song
What I'm saying is, if you're a true Weezer fan you'll love this sing right away just because it's Weezer. All those people who always complain and say "Just make another blue album" aren't Weezer fans, they're simply just fans of that specific album. I'm also a Panic! At The Disco fan and I heard the same kind of criticism on their most recent album from people who just wanted another "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", they were fans of the song, not the artist. The artist (in this case Weezer) is going in the direction they want to go and feel is right, and since I'm a fan of the band I'm gonna follow them wherever that may be.
weezer is the name of the blue album :^)
lol that's true huh XD
I love a whole bunch of Weezer albums but this is just really poor, I'm a Raditude apologist but this is 'Can't Stop Partying'-tier
I came to the realization a while ago that you can be a fan of specific songs and albums from a band and not be a fan of the band itself. For instance, I love Surfer Rosa and no other albums from Pixies. It has never occurred to me to sit around wishing Pixies would do another Surfer Rosa. There are far too many other bands and artists in the world.
Erline Andrews ur an album fan of Pixies, not a die hard fan... understandably ok 👌🏼
THANK YOU WATER MAN
Love it ❤
this is low tier weezer. i had high hopes

This song is amazing shoutout to weezer #1 of my fav. Bands 😍
YES!
I love how this album starts out, and I hate how it ends so much. Ugh.
On the plus-side, I guess I'll never have to flip the vinyl over.
Same here. With the exception of I'm Just Being Honest the latter half of this album is really boring imo. The first half is pretty nice though
This song is one of my favorite album enders, mostly because from flat-out silence you get this almost atmospheric wall of synths. It’s kinda ethereal until Rivers starts awkwardly rapping. Otherwise, this song is maybe Rivers’ best experiment so far. I’m close to being a 90s Weezer purist, but sometimes extermination isn’t the worst.
EDIT: I’m not saying this album is on the levels of blue red or make believe, but it’s not horrible
Honestly, as a pinkerton nerd, this song isnt that bad, still could without those WOOs but still good definitely in the top 5 on the album.
