The added caffeine combined with the coffee grounds really wake up the skin and can aid in blood circulation. The added shea butter and light carrier oils leave the skin with a beautiful, silky feel! Because this formula is emulsified, your skin never feels greasy and the formula rinses cleanly down the drain without leaving your shower floor slippery and slick. To save money on containers you don't need PET plastic containers unless using essential oils. Regular plastic will do. Pet plastic costs more. Love the video.

I just adore coffee scrubs! I use mine every other day on my face, it keeps my skin deep cleaned, soft and free of dead skin cells. In the spring and summer I knock it down to once a week because I start using a fruit acid complex in my routine to give myself smooth and bright skin, because ashamed to say I'm still a sun baby. A byproduct of growing up in the 60's and 70's. Lol! Great recipe! Jill Gross

Hi Cory. !! What can cause a product to overflow from the jar? For example I did a clay mask, after a few days it was overflowing from the Jar I'm not sure why.

Great looking scrub! A less messy way is to grab a pipping bad with no tip. Just snip the bottom fill the bag and just squeeze it in. It will be mess free.

I've made 2 tester ones and omg 😲 had I known you were making this i would of waited. I'm not happy with my Batch. It's more on the thicker side because of the sugar I used. And tad bit too abrasive. So I'm using them on myself. Can't waste these essential oils i used in it. Tuhhh it's to costly lol. Love how yours turned out.

I did one like this a while back, and my Optiphen Plus made it last a whole year.
I like this sugar scrub, I was thinking about making this sugar scrub. I brought whipped soap base by Soap Expressions and someone told me not to use this soap because it was to drying and it strip certain skin types of all there oil, is that true
hmmm, I can only speak on the bases that I have purchased. I really like the whipped soap base by stephenson, foaming bath butter. You can get it from CandleScience.com. It is not drying.

I like my scrubs on the thinner side so could I leave out the beeswax and use something else for the cetyl alcohol?
You can use less amount. Emulsifing Wax NF is also a good replacement for the beeswax. It tends to make a thinner product. Just depends on how much you use.
Lovely, but my question.. wouldn't the sugar melt overtime because of the caffeine (liquid) extract?
Well, this is an emulsified product so the caffeine extract is combined with oils in this recipe so it does not dissolve

I just watched your emulsified sugar scrub from a year ago and it was a much different texture than this one. You added a lot more sugar. Is that just something you changed over the year or is this one less thick because it’s coffee? Also did this one have the preservative?
Hi there, yes, this is a different recipe with a different texture than my emulsified sugar scrub. I haven’t changed a thing to the sugar scrub recipe, its a tried and true recipe. And yes there is optiphen preservative in this recipe as well as the sugar scrub recipe

No, salt behaves much differently in a scrub than sugar.

What’s an alternative to preservative...is vitamin E okay to preserve in this case?
There is no alternative, vitamin E is not a preservative. You will need one in this recipe because it will come into contact with water. Once that happens, without a preservative, the product will grow bacteria and mold.

Mine does. I don’t use wax though, I wonder why it’s being used. Sodium cocoyl isethionate, coco betaine, glycerin, water, stearic acid, Shea butter, germall to preserve, fragrance, and colorants is pretty much all I use.
