I clean it one every 3 month. Infrequently, but I always keep on mind to take out the case and clean my phone.

Hey man, just a suggestion but you should try using isopropyl alcohol, That's what I usually use and it works so much better than Windex. Clorox wipes also work really good.

It’s always the rubber case that traps the germs and dust inside, I also used to have a rubber case with my old 6th gen iPad but when I opened it up 2 months after I purchased it, it was filthy inside, I cleaned it and ever since that day I learned I must open up my case every half a month.
I change my case once every few weeks and thats when i clean my phone or anything. The most i usually have is dust thats been caked on the speakers or near the outside of the charging port.
