I'm a 53 yr old man and this song always brings me to tears cause I remember my playground and all my friends are all but gone distant memories of good days that could never be brought back but forever stay in my heart.
@ , You're lucky enough to recognize that, because i have had adult problems since i was a kid....no child should've to go through that...no times to remember with friends...no childhood period...
My favorite song Madonna ever sang. I’ll always love this film. This is how I feel about the ‘90s. I was born in 1985, and I miss my childhood when there were no iPhones, social media, etc. Don’t understand how time goes so quickly. Makes me sad.
When This Movie Came Out, It Showed Us How Our Parents Generation Handled the Dual Responsibilities of Fighting a War and still taking time watching some Very Entertaining Baseball by some excellent Women Players, With most top Major League Players Serving Overseas, The All-American Girls League was probably more Competitive and entertaining
I’m a 63 Year Old Guy from Medford Mass. When I heard this song at the end of the movie , I went back to the Park ( Logan Park ) I played ball at when I was A kid and played this song. I kinda fell apart rite there. All good I must say. I was never a Madonna Fan but that song has such an incredible message to it. Did My Heart a world of good. ❤️
Claire Donahoe was the first woman drafted to play in the league. After 1946 she left to get married, got her masters degree, and became a teacher. She was my wife’s physical education teacher in the 1970s in Maryland. They’re both in heaven now. This song reminds me of happier times when my beloved wife was still by my side.
This song gets to me every time I hear it. When it was first released, I was in my late 20's. Now I am in my mid 50's and wondering where the years and time went?
I hear ya. I just feel like crying each time I hear it. The music and the lyrics pulmonary on the heartstrings. Time gone, loves lost, friends gone too. We miss them greatly.
I laughed and cried in this movie. A league of their own is not a typical chick flick, it's about lives being changed forever for the love of the sport. And Madonna did an excellent song that shows everything about this movie and how it relates to this very day.
The best ballad Madonna ever sang!...and the best acting she ever did in a movie! This song is so beautiful and nostalgic and emotional...I want it played at my funeral!
Madonna has so many amazing ballads. Just to name a few: Live To Tell, Pray For Spanish Eyes, Easy Ride, Gone, To Hold And Not To Keep, Frozen, Ghosttown, Messiah, Heartbreak Cit
Loved this movie and the song. It was shown on TV the day after my mother's funeral and I still can't hear it without turning to a blubbering wreck. Thank you Madonna.
My 37 year old daughter's favorite movie and song. She played Softball from the age of 8 to 18. She was the Pitcher and 1st baseman. You should've seen her! Her team won the year, playoffs and was number 1 in the league. As an adult she's coached little girls and now having her own daughter in July. ❤❤❤
dale gribble I remember watching this movie back when it came out in theaters..., but the song omg touches my soul brings back so many this I wish I could hv,etc but the past is over. Sometimes when I play this I just like to reminisce. But I do miss the 90s!!!!!!!
This song brings so many memories flooding back to my mind I'm 68 years old wonderful how the time went by that fast. It reminds me of my children I also say that this is the best ballad that Madonna ever did. I will always love this song by her and the lyrics are just wonderful the lyrics are just so true and the movie is so great obviously I just finished watching it again for the I don't know how many times. ❤❤😢
I'M Turning 65 in a while, and this Song is Such a Reminder of My Playground that it makes Me happy 😊😁📸 and Joyful too Still be Around. And Everytime I pass The Playground, Ball 🏈🏀 Park's and Such around, it makes Me want to Go & Fall Down again looking at the Cloud's. Oh what Great Time's they Were. Thank You for Sharing.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦
I lost my oldest and dearest friend of 33 yrs. 2 days ago. this was our song, the first movie we ever saw together without our parents in the theatre. this song means so much more to me than it ever did. it don't know honey I'm supposed to be me without you Sarah....😢
Go back there in a minute to do the same stupid things over again. Our middle school athletes had to go through initiation to get our letter. So my friend and I wore dresses to school. It was so much fun. Guys would feel him on the butt and he’ll hit them with his pocketbook. Priceless. Go back there in a minute.
The 1990s had some of the greatest songs ever. This is one of them.A leauge of their is one of my favorite movies ever made.I have seen it over 50 times. It never tires me.Boy I miss the 90's.
When this movie came out I was working in a movie theater. I must have heard this song a thousand times while cleaning the theater. This song always takes me back to those days, and I remember all the fun I had working that job.
How the world has changed, sometimes it brings a tear to my eye because everything has turned crazy and I feel like the 80s and 90s where truly magical even though my upbringing as a child and my memories as a child weren't great. What I do know is that the radio and listening to music had feeling and was exciting we had no mobiles, Internet, cable TV and life was very basic but life was real and as Madonna says in this song 'the best things in life are free'. I get nostalgia when i listen to certain songs from the past which gives me flashbacks and a feeling of a safe belonging and a purpose even though it was in the past (if that makes sense).
Believe it or not, this is my favorite Madonna song , I always cry when I listen to this... and the movie, one of my favorites, always a pleasure to watch!
It gets me each time i hear this song. It reminds me of the fields where I walked my dog. She ran to those fields each time I let her off the lead, god bless you Stella I will never forget you.
I just got done transcribing A League of Their Own. This was a particular favorite of mine as a kid that I would watch with my grandma. She recently passed in December of '22 quite suddenly. She raised me for the majority of my life, so her death hit me particularly hard. I was a little surprised when I was sent A League of Their Own for my work a couple of days ago. I hadn't seen the film in years. All I could think of was how Grandma and I used to laugh and enjoy the movie together. She always loved near the end when Jimmy beams Stilwell with the baseball glove. I got to the end of the movie and this song came on. It was always an emotional song, even back then, but now, as a 35-year-old adult, wife, and mom, and having just recently lost, essentially, my mother, it just hit so different. It hurt, but kind of in a good way. There was a lot of nostalgia behind the pain. I just wish she'd been here to hear that I got to do this movie for work. She'd have been so happy and excited. Miss you every day and love you, Grandma.
I tell you what. They got the 2 sisters dead on with comparison in later years. Really all of them. I love the song because it brings back those younger years when you didn’t have a care in the world and all that mattered was just you and your friends and family having fun. Boy, I sure do miss those days.
A master-piece of a song, and the fond memories it`s bringing back for me. Thank you youtube for being a blessing. Some of the best trips are from memories triggered by music.
This song reminds me of growing up in the late 80's to 93. When both parents were alive and all my childhood friends were alive. I still cry for them 😭💔
Ernesto Millanponce I know right seeing that movie years ago when I was a pre teen this joke completely went over my head. But now that I understand what it means I can only laugh😂😂😂
You do know she was trying and few much excited at changing her image with this movie. You meet her right time for meeting young Madonna. Trust me I wouldn't wanted her until this time of her life.
This was shown in most movie theatre nationwide last 1992....I really love how Madonna perform her character, and the story was so connected with a real-life scenario.....she's a versatile artist and a very successful career woman
The movie is based on a true story and it’s so sad 😭 l know that there is no crying in baseball but you have to cry once in a while and Penny Marshall was an amazingly beautiful person and an amazingly talented director too R I P Penny Marshall l will miss you and loving you forever and always
I have this song downloaded into my music phone. When I go out and about I'm going to play it loud on my Bluetooth speaker. I don't think anybody would remember this song.
Hello happy sunday for me this movie the league of thei own is a great movie exelent performance of Madonna and all the crew and this song sing by My dear Madona is really beautiful ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉es 🎶💕💖🙋♀️♥️💖🎵💯💜🎶💕🎬💯🎵💖💕💜🎶♥️💖💕😇
I watched the movie again yesterday. When this song came on, I felt sad thinking of what I used to be able to do and what I can't do now with my 65 year old body. I loved the movie and really love the song.
I cry everytime I hear this song. These women inspired me and now my daughters play! My dad sent me my old softball bag and I cried. We r who we r because of these women and other women working during world war 2.
I love this song especially since it reminds me of when I was a kid and playing baseball on a little league myself. It also reminds me of a time of innocence and things were alot simpler
I was born in 1980. I was only 12 years old. When i first this in the summer of 1992. 😢😢❤😥 now i am 42 years old in 2022. Ohhh how i wish can go back to 1992......😢😢😢😢😥😥😥😥😥🎵🎵 30 years ago...............🎵🎵🎵🎵🎼🎼🎼😥😢 The Best things In Life are always was once free wishing my teen years are still here with me.... 😥😢🎼🎵
Those "academics" always hated Madonna. She made so many brilliant soundtrack songs that deserved Oscar nominations (if not wins) - Crazy For You (1985), Into the Groove (1985), Live to Tell (1986), Who's That Girl/The Look of Love (1987), This Used To Be My Playground (1992), I'll Remember (1994), Beautiful Stranger (1999), Time Stood Still (2000), Die Another Day (2002) and Masterpiece (2011)
irina1296 didn't two of the songs she sang get oscars? But agree how could I to the groove and live to tell not get an oscar nod...although there is technical reasons depending on where the song is positioned as she found out with masterpiece
@@gerryowen4200 yeah two of her songs win the Best Song Oscar, Sooner or Later from Dick Tracy in 1991 and You Must Love Me, the new song from Evita, in 1997
when I listen to this song it brings me back to when I was young and I ran track and played football and ran cross country I thank God all might for letting me do these things I cry because good times where spent doing what I love
Playamack Realog When I played little league football we had to get on a scale for weight I played in 75lb 90lb 120lb. I played baseball too. I was bummed in High School wasn't big enough to play
Crazy but I love this song and the movie was great. I’m black and I grew up in the 70s and all we did was play baseball. I call it the good old days when we settled disagreements with our fists no guns no cell phones no internet. Baseball was America’s past time. Madonna was so beautiful and this song is one of the best with so meaning. These lady’s were all beautiful I give them credit for continuing baseball while the men went off to fight for their country✌🏾✌🏾
I served a long time in prison and when I got out Phoenix Arizona has changed drastically. When I walked by a certain buildings and certain areas I kind of think of this song how things changed. And always remember the memories I had before I had went to prison roaming around central phoenix.
Song takes me back so many years. My best at my teens when I also had a playground. I miss my best days at soccer with my friends even with my rivals. One of the best movies and songs out there.
🇮🇹.... TRA POCO SARANNO 30 ANNI DI QUESTA CANZONE!!!!... AMMAZZA COME GIRANO LE LANCETTE ⏰ DEL TEMPO....HO DETTO TUTTO.... MADONNA , ARTISTA E PROFESSIONISTA DELLO SPETTACOLO .... TANTI SALUTI ✋😜✋ DALLA PUGLIA
Those women joined the league for their country to keep baseball alive while the men went off to fight in WW2. The women didn't fight in the war but they did their part to serve our country during that time. I applaud those ladies for what they did for our country. Thank you ladies for your part.
Arguably one of the better movies made about baseball...the casting was brilliant....they played well together, figure in the sound score, and it turns out to be a great movie....about something as simple, yet a tad complex, about baseball...
I'm a 53 yr old man and this song always brings me to tears cause I remember my playground and all my friends are all but gone distant memories of good days that could never be brought back but forever stay in my heart.
Ditto C.P 59 now and the same sort of thought .
42... Just started reminiscing more and more about my youth. Then my wife brings up this movie (I remembered it as a kid) and damn, you're right.
Me too. 😢
When I was a kid listening to this song, I remember thinking "...at some age, this song will make sense"... 54
💯
This song deserved at least an Oscar nomination. It’s such an emotional, poignant song!
Of course, an Oscar
This song makes me want to cry. It reminds me of a time when nothing really mattered and everyone was carefree.
😂😂😂 you mean back when you were a kid.... Now that your an adult its different.
@ , You're lucky enough to recognize that, because i have had adult problems since i was a kid....no child should've to go through that...no times to remember with friends...no childhood period...
It does make me cry. It makes me think of my daughter that doesn't want anything to do with me because she let drugs take over her life.
I wish sometimes I was running thru the woods playing in waterfalls again....then I shake my head and get out of my memories
I totally agree. But what an awesome song and film!
My favorite song Madonna ever sang. I’ll always love this film. This is how I feel about the ‘90s. I was born in 1985, and I miss my childhood when there were no iPhones, social media, etc. Don’t understand how time goes so quickly. Makes me sad.
I wish I was born 70s 80s eara seems so much easier
I was born in '79, I loved growing up thru the '80's & '90's. I wanna go back & do it again.
I was Born in 1980 i remeber all her songs... as a man now 41 years old Madonna will be forever my girl💜

Not a chick flick just a great baseball movie
I legit did not know it was a chick flick. Compare it to chick flicks of today, this was a masterpiece!

Lol same here

Same. The tears start when Dottie smiles watching Kit get all the glory at the end of the game. This is such a great movie.
Me too especially when they showed Jimmy had died
I can’t even listen this song without crying.. it gets me so emotional
dale gribble I remember watching this movie back when it came out in theaters..., but the song omg touches my soul brings back so many this I wish I could hv,etc but the past is over. Sometimes when I play this I just like to reminisce. But I do miss the 90s!!!!!!!
Me either. I'm crying now.
😪😪
I believe everybody gets emotional when they hear it.
I love Madonna's ballads. She sings like an angel on a slow song.

"Wishing you were here with me." That ALWAYS gets to me!!!!!
Samus Aran Love that Quote ( FRIENDS ARE THE SIBLINGS GOD FORGOT TO GIVE US )
One of the best movies made with not only one strong female lead but a whole team of them. Movies need to be more like this
And they didn't have to put down men while they did it!
Definitely the saddest song ever written. Has a lot of memories for me
@H H didn't know that.👍
This song is magical and makes my eyes watery.
John Elmot me too
I get teared up listening to National Anthem even when its on the TV
Always makes me think of my youth, and all the lovely memories of youth, and now, gives me a lump in my throat for the yesterdays.
Being a child was so much easier than being an adult...
So true. 😭😭

It makes perfect sense🥰💜
I agreed 😢
If you didn't vote for trump it's on you
This song touches the depths of my heart 🥰😍
Believe it or not, this is my favorite Madonna song , I always cry when I listen to this... and the movie, one of my favorites, always a pleasure to watch!

This Madonna song used to be my playground, meaning my favorite song. God Bless.
It gets me each time i hear this song. It reminds me of the fields where I walked my dog. She ran to those fields each time I let her off the lead, god bless you Stella I will never forget you.

Rest In Peace Penny, your playground of work was exceptional

This nostalgic ballad will always be one of my Madonna's favorite ballad

I was honored to meet Madonna while they filmed this movie. What a beautiful classy woman.
Oh wow, I am so jealous! What an amazing thing to have happen!
EnEfK idk about classy. especially when she was on letterman in the 90s. TV gold if their ever was lol
Lacrosse I remember driving my GF to Toronto, Canada to see Madonna in concert, about 1 hour drive from Buffalo, NY.
You do know she was trying and few much excited at changing her image with this movie. You meet her right time for meeting young Madonna. Trust me I wouldn't wanted her until this time of her life.

Why did it have to end? These are words that we will all one day ask ourselves. Cos nothing lasts forever 👤
I watched the movie again yesterday. When this song came on, I felt sad thinking of what I used to be able to do and what I can't do now with my 65 year old body. I loved the movie and really love the song.

The leave their own came out 25 years ago 1992 what great movie to remember
This song makes me sad. It makes go back in time. A time in the 70’s when we were just kids as spend all our days at the playground.
Most underrated Madonna song.
I cry everytime I hear this song. These women inspired me and now my daughters play! My dad sent me my old softball bag and I cried. We r who we r because of these women and other women working during world war 2.
I actually love this movie
Mil veces pasan esta película y mil veces la veo.. Desde Venezuela gracias por entretenerno
This is the best of Madonna. Good movie as well.
Every single time, it gets me in the feels
I love this song especially since it reminds me of when I was a kid and playing baseball on a little league myself. It also reminds me of a time of innocence and things were alot simpler
This song is so sad...between this and Wind Beneath my Wings...two of the saddest songs in movie history
True explanation point but I think this one strikes my emotion then the Bette midler song
I was born in 1980. I was only 12 years old. When i first this in the summer of 1992. 😢😢❤😥 now i am 42 years old in 2022. Ohhh how i wish can go back to 1992......😢😢😢😢😥😥😥😥😥🎵🎵

with this song i ve been remembering my child hood my teenage, almost my grand parents
this song brings back so many memories watching this movie as a little girl
@@gerryowen4200 yeah two of her songs win the Best Song Oscar, Sooner or Later from Dick Tracy in 1991 and You Must Love Me, the new song from Evita, in 1997
One of my all time favorite movies!!! I can watch this X amount of times and it will never get old to me.
Love me some Madonna... 2019 still gets played
Y not it not mumble rap

Playamack Realog When I played little league football we had to get on a scale for weight I played in 75lb 90lb 120lb. I played baseball too. I was bummed in High School wasn't big enough to play
Fuck cried
This song melts my heart it reminds me of a few years ago before all the hell that happen recently
Makes me think of my nana who would have been 13 in'43. Weird because it makes me cry, maybe its longing for simpler time's.
What a beatiful song, still bring me To tears !!!good memories good old days
I served a long time in prison and when I got out Phoenix Arizona has changed drastically. When I walked by a certain buildings and certain areas I kind of think of this song how things changed. And always remember the memories I had before I had went to prison roaming around central phoenix.
I love this movie, and this track ... ufff ... so emotional!
Song takes me back so many years. My best at my teens when I also had a playground. I miss my best days at soccer with my friends even with my rivals. One of the best movies and songs out there.
This makes me cry, remembering my carefree childhood
Nowadays it's much harder and scarier out there. Sad.
Beautiful song, it makes me think of my Dad and how much I miss him 😔
"'A League of Their Own" brought me here! Reminds.me of all of softball & volleyball days at Vailsburg High!!🎶
🇮🇹.... TRA POCO SARANNO 30 ANNI DI QUESTA CANZONE!!!!... AMMAZZA COME GIRANO LE LANCETTE ⏰ DEL TEMPO....HO DETTO TUTTO.... MADONNA , ARTISTA E PROFESSIONISTA DELLO SPETTACOLO .... TANTI SALUTI ✋😜✋ DALLA PUGLIA
Love this song brings tears thinking of all the great people in my life that have passed
J'ai 64 ans et je pleure en écoutant cette chanson, qui dit combien notre humanité ressort selon nos actes❤😢
