Wish they would have more dogs like Reggie on. It's not exactly hard to get puppies adopted, but old guys like Reggie could really use a good home in their twilight years.
amen! That's always been my only gripe. Puppies will get adopted.. but not older dogs who desperately need a forever home.
You must do some pretty amazing charity work. You can watch a segment in which a man announces that a fundraiser he organized has raised 100k so far & helped some puppies and a dog get adopted, yet somehow it STILL isn't good enough for you.
You must be getting canonized soon.
Old dogs are the best. ❤️
@@thecopycatcustomvintage Gina, this is something we've all wondered, long before now. This was the first senior I've seen on his program. And btw, before this was broadcast on TV, the puppies were all adopted. Go check out the senior dogs on their website.
"He kinda looks like you," Andy says.
I love seeing Reggie. Older dogs deserve homes too! 😍
ADULT DOGS!!! This might be the best rescue dog rescue
North Shore is a terrible organization. I've met a lot of people who've gotten sick dogs from them, and the organization buys the leftover puppies from puppy mills (you can look this fact up on their site).
YAY FOR THE SILVER FOX!! LOVE seeing a veteran pooch on here, older dogs are the best - all they want are naps, snacks, & cuddles. I hope Reggie gets lots of snuggles! 💙
More senior dogs please, great to see a start with Reggie.
Finally an adult dog that needs the help! Need to see more senior dogs in future segments.
Thanks for showing Reggie. I've adopted 4 senior dogs over the years and once you have them, it's like they have always been part of your life. They are the best!
Also, they're usually house trained and don't have as high exercise needs. Seniors for seniors!
Great job having a mature dog like Reggie!! Older dogs need love too!!!
Remember... Dogs aren't disposable gifts.
Except for pit bull breeds because they’re absolute trash
My ex got me a cocker pup after I had my first born was 4 months, I was like NO! We already had 2 dogs but they were trained and I didn’t have the patience to deal with a pup and have a newborn !
Though you will need to dispose of the "gifts" they leave behind.
Amen, they are family members. Best to adopt not buy but yes agree you have to be ready it's a commitment for at least 10yr, but a commitment worth having. They give back more then you ever give.🦴🦴❤
This is North Shore Animal League which is pretty strict with its adoption process. They are definitely especially at this time of year making sure that people are not going to discard the animal three months down the road
Thank so you SO MUCH for FINALLY featuring a senior dog!!! Especially around Christmas when everyone gets puppies without fully understanding the commitment they're taking on and then they just end up in the shelter because they're not puppies anymore. Puppies are so easy to adopt out, but senior dogs deserve a happy home for the holidays and forever just as much 💕
It was good to see an adult dog featured on this segment. Hope Reggie and the pups are all in furever homes for the new year!
"Furever" Sweet. 😋
Yeah, but they're still getting the dogs form North Shore Animal League, a group that BUYS LEFTOVER DOGS FROM PUPPY MILLS, which in turn, just allows the puppy mills to keep pumpin' out puppies.
@@keithpl5438 A lot of charity work is putting on band-aids. I had to come to terms with that.
@@michellelarocque7295 That isn't a band-aid, it's the support of a system that is horrid, and b/c they want to keep THEIR system going, they do it. It's selfish. And LSSC doesn't need to support it when, especially here in NYC, there are DOZENS of rescues that have abandoned dogs that are (b/c they're not always puppies or pure breeds) MUCH harder to adopt out. Again, this is NOT a band-aid, it's perpetuating terror.
Thanks for having an older dog to rescue!
As cute as they are…the puppies….don’t forget to adopt some of the older dogs. You know what you’re getting and they require no training. Who couldn’t love that?❤️
um. any dog you adopt will require SOME amount of training. but at least the older ones should be housebroken already!
Two thumbs up for senior dogs! My wife and I have two older shepweiler rescues and a 4yr old dutch shepherd rescue - FULL HOUSE!
Shepweilers must be some intelligent powerhouses!
@@LindaC616 They're renowned for their intelligence. Our oldest one Marshall is also the #1 search hit on Google images these days for 'shepweiler'. He has an inflated ego about it, lol.
@@SilentKnight43 😄 and the body of a steam train
I love that they had a mature dog on there. 🥰 so great!!
Oh yay, there's finally an adult dog on the segment!
I’m here to add more comments about how great it is to see a senior dog. More senior dogs please!! Those puppies will for sure get adopted without the show, but seniors may not!!!! ❤❤❤
Puppies are always adopted out. Good that you had one older dog; how about a full show with just the seniors? They need the help.
So glad to see an older dog!
Lol. Anderson can be so adorably awkward. XD
FINALLY!!!! an older dog. have always thought it quite a LOW bar to help adopt PUPPIES. Would be great to have a show all with older dogs.
Always love this segment!! So glad they finally featured a senior pup ❤️
Bones and all
Thank you for including a senior dog! They need more help than puppies getting adopted.
Thank you for showing a senior doggo! :)
Puppies and an older dog... omg Reggie is too cute
I love how many people were happy that an adult/senior dog was included. Adopt don't shop. Thanks Stephen.
You had an older dog on! I love it so much!
Thank you for including an adult rescue! More please!!!❤❤
I am interested in one of the dogs I live in Norfolk VA
Love to see one with mature cats
Please do a segment of ALL older dogs!
Yay…they finally did a mature dog. That’s so wonderful.
Just realized that this is the comment everyone made! I rescued a puppy but am trying to find a Reggie like dog for my dad.
Older dogs should be featured. They are the ones that need help getting adopted.
Then you should do your own show, eh?
What’s worth more, adopting a handful of the harder cases or using the air time to try to get as many people as possible to want to adopt?
If all you showed people was the difficult cases, you would end up getting very little attention, as well as creating a stigma around “adopted pets.” That’s exactly what they try to fight against by usually showing younger pets.
The deal is that they should always show all types of dogs when they talk about adoption. Because that’s the honest truth, and the best way to pull as many people as possible in.
Best dog I ever had was a "sort of senior" 💖✨️
This would be significantly more impactful if they featured more old dogs, who have a hard time getting adopted.
I just die over this segment every time!! I LOVE puppies! I rescued my puppy Max during covid. It's the best thing I've ever done. He saved my life. And I saved his.
May God bless the new owners of these sweet pups.
As an older person, the best dogs would be an adult
REGGIEEE!!!! Oh, my heart.
Thank you for helping the dogs 🐕.
there's been a local show here for years where they feature shelter animals, not just dogs, but cats, bunnies, parrots and whatever pets have found their way to them, and it's done really well. the staff will introduce the animal and their characters like "this dog is very active and needs a lot of movement so might not be ideal for older or owners" or "this cat is very patient and good with children so can be brought into a family". I always thought this really helped to connect owners and pets.
🐕🐕Where are you from and where is this show you speak of? Is it shown on CZcams? Tell us more 🐕🐕
My cat was described by the shelter as extremely fearful and distant. They said that the new owner shouldn't expect to be able to pet her. After 3 weeks she was sleeping on my lap. Turned out she was a very friendly cat who loves to cuddle. She just absolutely hated the shelter and was terrified there to the point they thought she might not even be adoptable.
More senior dogs! So sweet and sooooo happy for their new loving home! Please! MORE SENIOR DOGS! Please!
love the segment also agree more senior dogs in the future is a nice and important touch
OMG YOU DID IT!!! Thank you for listening to all these comments every time you do this segment about doing older dogs too. Thank you for giving Reggie this chance!
Thank you for promoting these pups, & animal adoption!!!! Some of them came from our rescue colleagues Rescue DOG in TN!!! 😊👍🐾 DON'T SHOP! ADOPT! ❤️
Cruelty against animals should be punished with prison. Thanks very much for all your help and support for all these precious lives 🐕🦺❤️👍
Stephen..... please, PLEASE do these dog rescue shows more!!! Thank you!
Our dogs are our kids. We used to have 7 now sadly only 4 becos of age and illness. It's heartbreaking 💔 to lose a pet. My family are suckers for unwanted dogs. Please put a pup 🐶 in your lives. You're never gonna regret it. Dogs 🐕 love you unconditionally. Even if your hair is grey and your face has more wrinkles than a packet of crinkle cut chips. They'll be your guardians, companions and agree with every word you say to them. Woof.
Adorable sweet rescue pups.
A senior dog!! At last!!!!! It's such a great segment but with the inclusion of an adult dog, it was really touching and wonderful to watch. I hope the trend continues!!
Anderson’s giggles 😅😅😅
Love them
More adult dogs please.
REGGIEEEE ❤❤❤❤ MORE SENIOR DOGS NEXT YEAR
They really need to make that show. It could be on Animal Planet or Netflix. I would so watch it. I love Glitter thought so precious.
That right there is my favorite segment in the show. cutie wooties!
Love this segment!
Bones and all
Also glad you featured not just puppies. Puppies always find homes. But older dogs need homes more badly. More non-puppies, please!
Yay for the senior pup!
Dog is a man’s best friend and during the pandemic so many puppies were bought as a consolation to lockdown and having to work from home.. Now the animal shelters are overwhelmed with “returns”. So much for human kindness!
Thank you thank you thank you for including a senior guy!! ❤
If you want to make a difference, put on senior dogs who need homes more!
They are so adorable. I miss my cat and dog, but I can't deal with that level of heartache again. Adopt the poor animals like these and show them the love that they deserve.
I still miss every dog I've ever had and just lost one of the best (and definitely the smartest) one I've ever had in October so I can sympathize with you. But my dad said one of the smartest things after my great Dane died decades ago: saying you won't have another dog is like saying you'll never have another friend after you've lost a friend. I've had eight dogs since then and despite the heartache, I can't imagine not having had them in my life
Adorable! And good luck puppies and senior baby. May you lives be blessed.
Love the dogs and Anderson's giggle!
So much adorableness 🥰
Remember, they all are man's best friend. Woof, woof. 🐶😁❤️👀
The 2 funniest "Andys" and puppies? And some of the most clever tag lines? Oh yeah...count me in!! 🐶🎄
Stop 😭 the way Anderson kisses each puppy on it’s little head. I’m sobbing
Thank you for featuring Reggie! Also, fun fact, dogs can actually see blue, but not red.
Remember a dog is for life not just for Christmas.❤
LOVE YOU ALL!!!! GOD BLESS YOU EARTH ANGELS, FOR ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL 🙏💗🙏💗🙏💗 🙏💗
Grampa Doggo Reggie.😁
OMG finally an older pup on RDR! Thank you for sponsoring a more mature dog on your show, one who might get looked over for all those adorable little puppies.
These guys are a beautiful couple and I admire their relationship so much.
❤ love wins
They are friends.
Yep... they're Just friends.
I know that they are friends 🫠
YAY REGGIE…more older pups, please!! ❤
Love the old dog too! But also: how about the last guy with his little eyebrow? 😍
Reggie 😍
Terriers are packed with personality.
yay! senior pups need homes too!
Rescue Dog Rescue is the best thing in the world! No one will change my mind on this! My only complaint is that it doesn’t go on for an hour at least!
Need more senior doggie like sweet Reggie !!
Love doggos. Oh, please adopt them. They are all so cute.
I am all for it!Let's find a home for them!
Adopt, and please consider older dogs.
I love that their first order of business is ripping off their clothes
Great to see Reggie. Seniors need more love because they’ve gone without, sometimes their whole life. It’s also good to see those Staffords because they often have trouble finding a home because of their breed.
Anderson was made for this segment. He should do it full time.
I worked at a local humane society adoption event. I was a "people ambassador," basically talking to people about pets, adoptions, and some of the dogs. There was an older dog, about 10 years old. One older woman came to visit her, and she fell in love with the dog. While the woman was completing the adoption paperwork, another woman came to visit the dog and she also fell in love with her. When I told the second woman that someone was adopting the dog, she asked me to put her on a wait list if it didn't work out. When they talked of the dog, both women said the same thing to me. They wanted a dog that was in the same stage of life as themselves. The dog was sweet, calm, and looked to be good companion. After that experience, I looked at older dogs differently. I could talk with potential adopters about the special qualities of older dogs. Even myself, if I were to adopt a dog, I'd look for an adult. I think that having older dogs on the show could lead to growing awareness of their need for homes too.
I love Anderson Cooper even more now that I see that he kisses dogs' too. He is such a sweety.😍🇨🇦
Wish i could adopt all these puppies.😍
I LOVE what you're doing for rescue dogs, Stephen! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yukon has the cutest ears ever! : o
Thank you for doing an older dog show!!! 😇
Older dogs are puppies too!!!!! X3
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww they are so adorable!!!! Thank you for helping the rescue doggos!
I just love this segment so much!
I hope no Swifties are watching cause they'll definitely want Pixie to be their new best friend. Also I'm happy to see Reggie the senior included. He's a cutie.
Aweee OMG!!! I hope ALL these babies get ADOPTED and go to great loving homes!!!
Before the show even aired
These puppies are so adorable
"Um, actuallyTM", dogs CAN see blue (and yellow). Wish I could adopt any one of these cuties!
A pet is not necessarily the best holiday 'gift'. This is a serious decision. Also, please consider adopting an adult or senior companion animal. Shelters are literally overflowing with them, through no fault of the animal. Stephen, please start featuring adult and senior dogs! #AdoptDontShop #AdoptASenior 🙏❤️🐾
