- On a random Saturday morning at Greenacres Shopping Centre in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the international award-winning Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Choir delights unsuspecting shoppers and passers-by with an impromptu practised routine which includes a number of popular songs. The flash mob is part of an awareness campaign to get students to apply to study at NMMU, one of South Africa's leading tertiary education institutions. Find out more at www.betterU.co.za.

Did you notice the smiles on most all the faces? The little "get down and boggey girl". This is great. Would love to see it happen here. The singers are absolutely fantastic.
I love the thought of song breaking out all over the world. This is pure joy.
I'm currently sitting in another country and when I watched this video I got tears in my eyes... I LOVE my country! SA is home and no other country can compare
From personal experience when u emigrate u take yr background culture and everything that goes with it forever
Just realized that I still have a huge silly grin on my face- I truly love being a South African.
Flash mobs are a perfect invention. great solo form my friend Anathi Jindela "only you" And the entire choir ( proudly NMMU Alumni )
"They call it Africa. We call it home." Ewe, Standard Bank billboard, I am such a happy proud South African!
What a delight to see amongst the often negative reports on South Africa. A wonderful example of South Africa at the best of times! South African and proud of it.
Proud to be South African. We can make this place work.
Another reason to love this beautiful country.
South africans need more of this spirit in our lives.
This goes to show what joy and satisfaction comes from being part of a choir. This is definatly one of the most emotional presentations of this kind' I have seen on you tube. I sing in a choir and it reminds me that the joining together of people from ALL walks of life can breach any barrier and bring beautiful harmony to those who sing and those who listen. Top marks for a brilliant performance.
Soul comes to another one of the globe's plastic and steel shopping centres! Beautiful!
I cried so much I think I was frightened when they started to sing. I am still crying as I comment. God Bless them they are wonderful. I LOVE IT!!!
Thumbs up if you live in another country and just remembered how great South Africa is.
Oh man.. I just LOVE it when people DO something so good just because they can.. may it spread like a virus all around the world. Thank you.. I grew up in PE so good to see the JOY in the community .. Do it again ..soon!!!
i'm not south African, but i'm a student in PE...wish this could make the news instead of all the bad garbage we usually see...this is amazing..well done NMMU, well done SA
Some time, I pray, I´ll be in THE place for a flash mob. I can only imagine the thrill.
Bless the spirit of South Africa... can't wait to go back next year!
WHY does ANYONE not like this? It is amazing!
the education department in the Eastern Cape is in such a state, its fantastic to see that the students themselves are now taking ownership of their legacy. Brilliant!
Awesome! I cried the whole way through! South Africa is a great place to live, because of the people :)
Isn't it beautiful to see so many different people from all different walks of life joining in harmony together. What a present that would have been for Mandela.
Love these ... wonderful to hear Shosholoza once again! Aaaah, Jenny, Austin Texas, USA
What an awesome way to put NMMU on the map! Proud to be a NMMU Alumni!
And more than seven years later, you've made someone halfway around the world (in Canada) smile. Thank you.
Very proud to have my rainbow country as my country of origin
Brilliant! Saw them today in their 'Song for Mandela' Gooseflesh stuff! And a worldclass choir! So proud!
This is a flashmob. the real deal
This is what makes me so happy to be a South African!
Acapella singing is big in the US, and around the world. Just returned from a week long convention of Barbershop Harmony in Kansas City. There were 50+ quartets from around the world competing, plus 23 Collegiate quartets and then 30 Chapter Chorus's from all corners of the world. Second place quartet was from New Zealand as was 7th place Chorus. The spontaneous appearance of the Choir singing in South Africa was a clever way to introduce themselves to the shoppers.
Someone sent this link to me months ago. I was so moved by it that my heart felt too big for my chest! I love South Africa passionately. I believe in our country and all the different people born and living here. The delight and harmony between al the different races shown on this video is awesome! There is so much sweet goodness in most people. May God bring us all together like this all the time.
