- The NAACP's motto is "Leading the Fight to End Racial Inequality." But a group of former leaders say they have been unfairly suspended, harassed, and defamed by the civil rights organization.
The group, which includes over 20 people from across the nation, has stories of unfair treatment and unexplained suspension of their leadership posts and membership.
We have six joining us tonight.
In the studio, Rochelle Bilal, Philadelphia NAACP Fmr. Secretary and Fmr Executive Board Member and Fmr. Youth Council Advisor, says she was suspended for sending out an out-of-date sponsorship form letter to raise money for youth.
LeRoy Candler, the past President of Fresno NAACP, says he was suspended for transferring funds from NAACP to his personal account. Which never happened and he had a letter from the bank manager proving his innocence.
On Skype, Lourie (Lou) Walker, the President of the Antelope Valley NAACP Branch, says she was suspended after filing an internal harassment complaint.
Anthony Douglas, a past Board Director of the NAACP in Oklahoma, says he was suspended a day before the national convention after challenging President and CEO Derrick Johnson.
Nashville's past president, Venita Lewis, says she was suspended after challenging the direction of Tennessee's State Conference President Gloria Sweet-Love.
Betty Williams, the past President of the Sacramento NAACP Branch, says she was suspended three days before an election after filing harassment charges.

President gets paid a living wage because he travels and has to represent the organization around the world. That was a petty attack
I have been wondering why were they so quiet on matters. Where's the money going? Who's getting the monies and why. There's something wrong here. Who's in charge? Money and power ruin people and businesses. This is terrible and a Mark on the NAACP. Martin Luther King must be turning over in his grave. A shame and disgrace. It certainly needs to change and stop being so conservatives. The organization is ineffective because it's too big. There's no consistency in their operations, just jobs for people with degrees, connections to the D9, etc. For example, Crystal Mason needs their legal help, and instead of helping their constituents, they are in-fighting! They need to go smaller and faster and stop being tools of oppression. They can't even execute a solid, good national strategy to help Black people get reparations!!

ormer President Douglas claimed to care, echoing the national office's statement. However, a Black woman recently reached out for help regarding civil rights violations by the Lawton City Council. Instead of receiving assistance, she was charged with filing a false police report. All she did was file a complaint about the City Council's inappropriate behavior. This situation highlights the organization's need for reform to ensure it effectively supports its members.

Those people did nothing wrong, and they followed up with proof. And apparently, you didn't listen to what they all said they appealed with a hearing request. It was denied, or abandoned with no action taken from the people closest to the main man himself.
