Hi Joe, I just thought you would like to know, I went out and shot my brand new 65lbs horse bow that pulls 77lbs at 30 inch draw, and my draw is 31 inches. This bow really stacks. The reason I mention this is I have not shot a bow in about 18 years and I am 61 years of age. I did really well, in fact I was very pleased with my performance! I used some of the things I learned from your channel. So please keep it up, I am looking to it. Pat

Joe, I own a Howard Hill bow. I love it. I hope you will review yours.

Shawn - Any tips on how to shoot a Hill? I'm going to shoot it full time in 2016, so I'll figure it out pretty quick, but any tips to speed up the process are appreciated!

Well the Hill I have a dished grip and string follow limbs which helps to greatly reduce hand shock. I also have beaver balls installed on the string, so my Howard Hill has no hand shock. But I suggest shooting it. It's a romantic style of longbow. Its very very accurate. Play around with it. Put the heel of your palm into the grip. Trust me you will like it.

+Shawn Sims - Sounds great, thanks for the tip! I'm very excited to shoot it. What type of speeds do you get out of yours? (What speed at what gpp?) I'm hoping with a 10gpp setup, the bow can get close to 160fps - is that a realistic expectation?

+S3 Archery Well Howard Hills from the jump I think get 160 to 165 fps out of the box. Craig makes that clear on his website I don't know the exact number off the top of my head. That is a very sound assumption, and like in your shooting you are not off the mark there.

+Shawn Sims That sounds great! If I could get 160-165, I'd be ecstatic. I'm worried the string follow will cost me that type of speed, but really wanted the string follow for smoothness and handshock reduction. Thanks for the info Shawn!

Nice to see updates. wondering on how you train on strength training to up the poundage on your bow weight. I got a deal on a 60 pounder but i normally only shoot 45#. I just dont have half the endurance to shoot the 60# for long.

+guyinknapp Hi Guy - Dan, Andy and I all keep our poundages between 40# and 50#, so we don't "weight train" to build up our strength to pull weights of 60#+ as you mentioned. As far as our workout regimen, we typically stick with pushups and bicep curls, to maintain our strength.

+S3 Archery glad to hear it. just curious but have you guys ever thought about doing course reviews like it done on the 3darchery channel?? understand filming while out on the course can take from joy of shooting. just curious keep it up.

+guyinknapp Dan has been trying to convince me for the past year to do course reviews, but I didn't feel subscribers would want because it is "too local". Good to hear you'd like to see. We will do our best to get a few course reviews out there this year. Thanks!
