I don’t understand WHY modern-day preachers have such a hard time OBEYING the Lord. The passage says; Acts 2:36-38 (KJV)-Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men, and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. This text of scriptures took place after Peter had just proclaimed that Jesus was both Lord and Christ. So, the crowd responded with the question, “What MUST we do”? Therefore, Peter’s response was what Christ told the Apostles to preach. Mark 16:15 (KJV)- 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Faith. Repentance and Baptism are ALL essential. WHY? Do modern-day preachers have against water Baptism? They go out of their way to explain that Baptism is NOT necessary. But WHY does the Bible repeat it over and over again? WHY would the Savior Himself command the Apostles to teach something that was unnecessary? If you really love God, you will be willing to do whatever His word says. Jesus said in John 14:15- If you love me keep my commandments. So, the question you MUST ask yourself? Do you LOVE the Lord? It’s really just that simple!

The difference is God give specific instructions for salvation for the "Gospel of the Kingdom" which Peter preached to the house of Israel as you noted in Acts 2: 36. Peter give the house of Israel the instructions Jesus taught him. Repent, get water baptized and then receive the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38
Paul preached the "Gospel of Christ" which have different instruction's for salvation, did not required water baptism. Salvation. The Gospel of Christ requires faith/trust/belief for salvation.
      Rom 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
      1Cor 15: 1-4
      1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Different gospels with different instructions for salvation according to the scriptures. This can be clearly understood if all follow Jesus commandment to rightly divide the word of truth. 2 Tim 2: 15

The reason why most don't follow Acts 2: 36-38 and Mark 16:15 is those instructions are to the Nation Israel. As you can clearly see who Peter is speaking too in verse 36 and whom Jesus is instructing in Mk 16:14. Water baptism, was a demonstration of faith and part of the "Gospel of the Kingdom" for Israel.
Today, we are saved by faith alone (Eph 2:8). We are saved by believing the "Gospel of Christ" not the "Gospel of the Kingdom".
      Rom 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Jesus instructs Paul not to baptize but to preach the "Gospel of Christ".
      1 Cor 1: 17
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
The Gospel of Christ we are to believe for today is found in 1 Cor 15: 3-4
      3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Jesus died on the cross for your sins, buried and rose the 3rd day. This is the “Gospel of Christ” you are to believe for salvation today.
The moment you believe the gospel of your salvation, the “Gospel of Christ”, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, until redeemed.
      Eph 1: 13-14
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
The moment you believe the gospel of Christ, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit as an earnest (down payment) until redeemed. The Holy Spirit is the down payment, see it?

The scriptures say, "sealed with the Holy Spirit which is the earnest" the down payment, the guarantee until redeemed.
You have the guarantee of the Holy Spirit until redeemed. What God has sealed no man can open!
So if you have not trusted in the Gospel of Christ for Salvation, do it now. GET SAVED!

Make sure thery teach this truth:
      2 different gospels
[1] In (the gospel of Christ), Apostle Paul says that (Today) is the day of salvation =2CORINTHIANS 6:2. You are saved by believing in Jesus, death, burial and resurrection =1CORINTHIANS 15:1-4. This gospel (has) went out to all the world and we are bearing the fruit of it = Colossians 1:5,6,23/Rom 1:8/Rom 10:18
These three thousand believers =Acts 2:41
And these five thousand believers =Acts 4:4
A lot of these thousands of believers were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word = Acts 8:4
*In (this gospel of Christ), God the Father in Christ (has) forgiven you = Ephesians 4:32
[2] In (the gospel of the kingdom of heaven approaches) = Matthew 4:17. Israel must endure unto the end to be saved = Matthew 10:22/Matthew 24:13. This gospel (will) be preached in all the world and then the end will come = Matthew 24:14. This gospel (will) continue in the future.
*In (this gospel of the kingdom of heaven approaches), the Father (will not) forgive your trespasses =Matthew 6:15
We need to rightly divide the word of truth to see this = 2Timothy 2:15 King James bible.
The gospel of Christ is in 1Cor 15:1-4. (This gospel was a mystery) =Ephesians 6:19/Romans 16:25,26
Before Jesus death, Jesus and the 12 apostles were (not) preaching the gospel of Christ in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. They were preaching the gospel of the kingdom of heaven approaches exclusively only to Israel.
Not even Satan and his angels know about the gospel of Christ before Jesus death = 1Cor 2:8
In Galatians 1:7,8 the gospel of the Kingdom of heaven approaches is not in view here, it's not our message to the lost souls today. The gospel of Christ, was a Mystery = Romans 16:25,26/Ephesians 6:19

Remember Jesus said repentance and remission of sin should be preached in My Name?
Which is the Name of the Father Son Holy Ghost which is Jesus Christ.
The apostles obeyed according to Acts 2:38.
Peter literally said repent and be baptized for the (remission of sin) and you shall receive the Holy Ghost.
He obeyed Jesus Christ and Paul said whatever you do do all in the name of the Lord Jesus .
Jesus literally said go and baptize.
No man could give you the Holy Ghost so Jesus was talking about water baptism and it’s a must.

Believer's baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission (deliverance) of sins... Acts 2:38 is pretty straight forward. No need to overcomplicate it.
We should not, however, put God in a box.
You are also right that these things were not supposed to be separated.
People like to compartmentalize salvation, often just trying to do the minimum requirement to get to heaven.

@4:00. Everyone admits if they are honest. That a persons salvation also depends on the person that is “bringing them into” the kingdom.
If the person sharing the gospel, gives a false gospel then how can the “believer” be saved?
    Rom 10:14
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Salvation depends not only on personal faith but also on the person who brings the truth.

If water baptism is needed for salvation, that rules out any deathbed conversions as people lay in hospitals with no possibility of water baptism, or the conversion of a person in a North Korean prison camp, again where no water baptism is possible. We are saved by grace through faith. It's not based on any physical action. That's the truth of God's Word.

      The Truth about Acts 2:38
First, please notice that verse 38 isn't the only verse in Acts 2. In Peter's message, a great deal was said before verse 38 came out of his mouth. In fact, he even told his listeners how to be saved before verse 38! In Acts 2:21, Peter quotes from Joel 2 and says, "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." His words preceding verse 38 were so convicting that his listeners were "pricked in their heart" in verse 37. So, to use verse 38 out of its context causes a misrepresentation of God's word. The verse does not stand alone, and, in fact, a totally different meaning is conveyed when one makes it stand alone.
Another error that many make with Acts 2:38 is the error of assumption. It is assumed that the word "for" must mean "in order to get." That is, being baptized "for" the remission of sins supposedly means to be baptized "in order to get" remission of sins. However, a closer look at the scriptures will reveal that this isn't the case at all.
Notice Luke 5:12-14: "And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him. And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them." Jesus made this man clean in verse 13, yet in the next verse, verse 14, Jesus tells him to go offer a sacrifice "for thy cleansing" as a "testimony." Here the word "for" cannot mean "in order to get" because he had already gotten his cleansing in verse 13! It obviously meant "because of" his cleansing. If a man goes to jail "for stealing," then he goes there "because of" the stealing that he's already done, not "in order to get" a chance to steal again.
Some like to argue that the Greek word "eis" means "in order to," but this isn't always the case. Jesus said in Matthew 12:41, "The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at (eis) the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here." The Greek word for "at" is "eis." Does this mean that the men of Nineveh repented "in order to get" the preaching of Jonah? No, they repented "because of" the preaching of Jonah. So, even "the Greek" doesn't demand the popular interpretation of Acts 2:38. The word "for" can be used different ways, not just one, so it is wrong to assume that it must mean "in order to get" in Acts 2:38.
Another factor which is commonly ignored is the JEWISH factor. Every person in Acts 2 is a Mosaic law observing Old Testament Jew. In fact, they are all gathered together to observe a JEWISH FEAST called Pentecost (verse 1). A fair reading of the whole chapter (especially verses 4, 14, and 36) will clearly reveal that no Gentiles (non Jews) are present. Since this involves Jews, it involves a NATION (verse 36!!), not individuals. No one asked, "What must I do to be saved?" The question asked concerned the NATION of Israel: "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" (verse 37) Not, "What shall I do," but rather, "What shall WE do?" Acts 2 presents a NATION of people who come to realize that they have murdered their blessed Messiah and they're asking what THEY must do. It's a question concerning NATIONAL salvation. Isaiah 66:8 says, ". . . shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children." The "nation" is Israel! Romans 11:26 says, "And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob." Acts 2:38 is dealing with NATIONAL salvation. The Messianic Kingdom is still available to the Jews (until Acts 7:60 when they kill Stephen), so national salvation remains an issue until then.

      @Kingjamesbible161 Před 2 měsíci

This is clear from what follows Acts 7. In Acts 8, an individual from Africa is saved (before baptism). In Acts 9, an individual from Asia is saved (before baptism). In Acts 10, an individual from Europe is saved (before baptism). Why didn't these individual conversions occur before Acts 7? Because the first seven chapter of Acts deal with Israel (1:6-8; 2:36; 3:12; 4:8-10; 5:31; 6:7-14; 7:1-60). The question of INDIVIDUAL salvation is asked and answered in Acts 16:30-31: ". . . Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Those who fail to make this distinction are guilty of violating II Timothy 2:15 where we are told to RIGHTLY DIVIDE the word of truth.
The Bible says the gospel is to go to the Jew FIRST (Rom. 1:16), so they are the FIRST to receive the gospel in the book of Acts (chapter 2), but they are not the last to receive it. Acts doesn't end with chapter 2, so we should be cautious of anyone who develops their doctrine in Acts 2 while practically ignoring the next 26 chapters! If God didn't stop in Acts 2, then why does anyone else? Could it be that the later chapters in Acts contain information which the cultists want hidden from us? Could it be that there are other scriptures in Acts which do not agree with the wording of Acts 2:38? Could it be that Peter himself, the one preaching in Acts 2:38, says something different when speaking to individual Gentiles like you and me? One only has to read Acts chapter 10 to get the answer. Peter is preaching again in Acts 10, except only to individual Gentiles, and something very interesting occurs. In Acts 2:38, the Holy Ghost was promised to be given to the converts AFTER they were baptized, yet in Acts 10:44 the Holy Ghost falls upon the Gentiles BEFORE they are baptized! Now, Paul tells us in Romans 8:9, " . . .if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." Having God's Spirit is synonymous with belonging to God or being saved (John 3:6-8), so the Gentiles in Acts 10 were saved BEFORE they were baptized in water. Why don't the Acts 2:38 cultists ever point this out? Answer: It destroys their perverted doctrine that water baptism is essential for salvation.
The fact is that Acts 2:38 is NOT the "model" plan of salvation, nor are any of the other "water verses" which the cultists use. Only by taking such verses out of their context can one teach such heresy. All of the Bible is true, not just the favorite "proof texts" of the cults. Baptism saves no one. It only serves as a testimonial picture of the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ AFTER one has believed on Christ (Acts 8:36-38). Paul said in I Corinthians 1:17 that ". . . Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect." This "gospel" is defined by Paul in I Corinthians 15:1-4, and it does NOT include water baptism. The dying thief was not baptized, yet Jesus saved him (Luke 23:42-43), and John wrote that we are washed in the BLOOD of Christ (Rev. 1:5), not in the water. In fact, the saints in Heaven claim to have gotten there by the blood of Jesus (Rev. 5:9), not by water. By faith in the blood of Jesus Christ one is saved (Rom. 3:25). Water baptism only follows this faith as an outward step of obedience.
Friend, if you have fallen for the water gospel, why not repent of your sin and trust Jesus Christ alone? Acts 10:43 says, "To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins." Why not believe on Christ 100% right now and quit trusting something you DO for salvation? "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." (Rom. 5:1) Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Romans 10:9-13 says,"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Why not right now?

Hey Corey, there are many occasions in the bible where when something needed to be interpreted or a claification of a word need more meaning that bible will read clearly states it. Case in point for the word interpreted Gen. 40:22, 41:12-13, Ezra 4:7, Matthew 1:23, Mark 5:41, 15:22, 15:34, John 1:38, 1:41, Acts 4:36. There are also many uses of the word interpretation. So given that, if Peter was actually interpreting what was said in tongues, don't you think the Holy Spirit would have made that crystal clear by saying something like: "and Peter interpreting the tongues said to the people". Or in Acts 2:14, Peter instead of saying "hearken to my words (KJV [although I am not KJV Only😅])", he would have said "hear the interpretation" or "this is what the Spirit saith".
I'd love to hear you thoughts on this. Thanks Brother.

@narutofan360 Thanks for the reply. I am not sure if you understood what I was saying. All I was saying is if Peter was interpreting what was spoken in tongues, then Luke would have explicitly said this when he wrote in Acts 2:15-36.
From verse 14 he tells the listeners "hearken to my words" and he starts preaching to them; there is no indication in the text that even hints that Peter is interpreting what was said in tongues as Corey believes.
To answer you question yes, if it is written it is in the Spirit, but words do have meaning and passages of scripture have context.

Jesus commanded that repentance and remission of sin be preached in his Name.

I was recently having this conversation with a pentecostal man. I was asking if his church teaches that you’re only truly saved if you speak in tongues. He mentioned this point that you need to be baptized in the name of Jesus or it’s void. He didn’t exactly address my question but I did mention that no where in the Bible does it say you’ll know you’re saved if you speak in tongues… even more so, Paul mentions he wishes people to desire prophesy over all the gifts because it edifies the entire church.

    • @Wolverine-jp9ly

As a person who was raised in the Pentecostal church, I was taught that speaking in tongues was a vital sign that one had been filled with the Holy Spirit. I will admit i had questioned this and I even prayed and asked God as to why was speaking in tongues so important and why it was a symbol of one being filled with His Spirit. Now growing up, the way i was taught that the tongue is the most unruly part of the body. For people can lose control of their tongue in circumstances such as physical pain. You bang you toe or bang you funny bone and most people's reaction is to cuss or scream others words in frustration. Another circumstance is you can say things in anger not be meaning it but you cant take back what you said. The Scriptures say the power of life and death is in the tongue. Now when I asked God why was speaking in tongues a symbol of one receiving His spirit. I felt the Lord impress on me this. A person can be bound or imprisoned and can still be defiant with his tongue. We can see this with police videos of people who are handcuffed are still running their mouths in defiance which means that haven't totally surrendered themselves. Another prime example of this is in the movie Braveheart. William Wallace is being executed and when he was asked basically any last words. His words were of defiance when he screamed "freedom". It showed that even though he was bound and was being put to death he hadn't surrendered his heart or will. So when one is filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence in speaking in tongues. It is a sign that one has completely surrendered their heart and will unto God. for in the Scriptures it says "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks", Luke 6:45. I hope this helps

The receiving of the Holy Spirit came _after_ the repentance and baptism (“and *you will receive”* which presupposes that they haven’t yet received). And no one gets baptized unless they believe. Meaning these people believed and did not yet receive the Holy Spirit until after they were water baptized, according to the text.
You also have other examples in Acts of people believing, and then only receiving the Holy Spirit after baptism and the laying on of hands. Like in Acts 19:2.
“And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
Now if belief in the gospel _alone_ saved, then they should’ve been sealed, yet they were not until after being baptized.

Here is what Spirit Baptism means
When Jesus was talking to Nicodemus about getting in the Kingdom he said the only was to be born from water and spirit and then said the same thing a different way, this time he said you must be born again, and then he said it again differently, born from above, all of these mean the same thing. Jesus was referring to Ezekiel 36:25-27 and was astonished the Nicodemus did not know this because he was a teacher of the law and should have understood what he was talking about.
The book of Hebrews tells us the reason for the new covenant, Hebrews states the law/old covenant was given to us as a schoolmaster/teacher, the to be learned is that Israel could/would never continue to believe, obey, choose God, they would always resort back to their old ways. God knew the problem was a heart Issue, Jerm. 18. God's solution is a new heart and his spirit.
      Ezekiel 36:25-27
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Notice that God is the one talking and doing not Israel. Notice that John Calvin was nowhere around.
There is not a Gospel for Israel and another Gospel for the gentiles, Jesus said is the only way to get to heaven. God is the one who causes his sheep to be born again, nothing we do to obtain hence the term grace. Yes we must believe, chose, obey and remain but Jesus/God said we would do all of things by his spirit.
God said He will take out our heart of stone, God said he would put in a heart of flesh, God said he would put his spirit in us and cause us to walk in his ways.
In the parable of the sower the ground it the heart, only one of the four grounds was good and the only we to become good ground is to be born from above, the other grounds chose, believed but they could not continue because they did not have a new heart/God's spirit.

@naeembourne2474 the thief on the cross was under the law. A different dispensation. The New Testament shows in many places the importance of water baptism. Acts Chapter 8 is one. Roman's 6:4, 1 Corinthians 15. Yes himself mentions it in John 1:5. The word baptize or baptize means to immerse or dip into water. We can't get away from this fact. Peter specifically mentions this fact when the Ruah Hodesh (Holy Spirit) fell on the Gentiles for the 1st time Acts 10 44-48. Btw , Yesu (Jesus) commissioned Peter in Matthew 16 13-19. He bound those words on earth, so Yesu bound them in heaven.

You can look at Cornelius in Act 10. the first gentile, while Peter yet spake the Holy Spirit fell on them which heard the word. These were uncircumcised pagan gentiles who didn't know or come under the Law neither were they baptized and the Holy Spirit fell on them. Peter in Acts 15 while defending Paul Acts 15:7-11 said these men had their hearts purified by FAITH, do not temp God by putting a yoke upon these disciples meaning the Law of Moses.

@@hermansmikle6685 yes Jesus Christ said to baptize in the (name ) of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost , but the question is who was he speaking to when he gave the command? If you did not know according to the scriptures he was speaking to his 11 disciples in Matthew:28:16 , so he was not speaking to me nor you so we have to follow the disciples in the scriptures to see how they baptized, and they fulfilled the commands that Jesus Christ give them in the book of acts, so in acts:2:38 is the fulfillment of Matthew:28:19 that was the first baptism done by the disciples, so the understanding is that Jesus Christ is the name of the father, son and Holy Ghost, that’s why in all the baptism done in the New Testament is done in the name of Jesus Christ and not repeating the titles in Matthew:28:19 , because father, son and Holy Ghost are not names , and Jesus Christ said do it in the name(singular) of the father , son and holy ghosts, so the diciples was doing it correctly because remember in verse 20 of Matthew:28 he told them to teach them to observe everything that I command you and I am with you always even unto the end of the world , so the Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit was with the disciples teaching them what to do and to set and example for us to follow, so we are not to do our own thing or come up with our own analogy but to just believe and follow Jesus Christ through his disciples/apostles by the Holy Ghost by his word , and remember God is not the author of confusion , so the trinitarian formula of baptism of repeating Matthew:28:19 is not of the spirit but is of man , it’s man’s analogy because it’s not witness in scripture of anyone baptized that way , and that’s why there’s division concerning baptism today , the scriptural way of baptism is in the name of Jesus Christ, the name of Jesus Christ represents Jesus Christ, so if you believe on Jesus Christ why not get baptized in Jesus Christ by his name ? Remember God always established a matter or something by two or three witnesses, so repeating Mathew:28:19 is not a correct formula of baptism because there’s is not another wittiness in the scripture to confirm that it’s the right way , so Matthew:28:19 is not to be taken literally it’s an understanding about and you have to follow up with the ones who Jesus Christ give the command and study to show yourself approved unto God not men , read and learn the word for yourself by the guidance of the Holy Ghost, I already give you the understanding about it you can read the book of acts and learn for yourself if you don’t believe me , pray for guidance of the Holy Ghost before reading to get the correct understanding and interpretation of it , God bless

Blessings. I do agree with the brothers comment that it’s self explanatory.
Let’s keep in mind that, Acts 2:38 is the Apostle Peter’s response to the question in verse (37)
“Men & Brethren what shall we do?”
Peter’s answer doesn’t need to have been exegesis. It’s clearly and perfectly written. Brother Corey, you inserted the idea of “steps” which I agree it’s not a numerical formula but all components are essential for salvation.
His statement about when their hearts were “Pricked” means a that they now have regenerated heart from above isn’t correct. Because if that statement was true, there is no need for Peter to instruct them to Repent and be baptized.
His statement about water baptism is only “an outward expression of what has already taken place on the inside” is also incorrect.
Scripture records many instances of people who believed in Jesus and were baptized prior to being baptized in the Holy Spirit. So it could not be an expression of what has taken place inside, if they have not received the Holy Ghost which is the regeneration power.
His statement about invoking the name of Jesus is incorrect. His name is both in pronunciation and authority. Philippians 2:9. Just ask the seven sons of Sceva if the name of Jesus matters Acts 19:14. My dear brother Corey would have to stop wearing his own sweatshirt that says “There is something about the name of Jesus” If we say his name when we bless our food, or cast out a demon, or call on his name in prayer, surely it a no brainer when we baptize someone in water as we have been commanded and demonstrated by the Apostles.
Jesus established water baptism by submitting to it himself to fulfill all righteousness. He emphatically says to Nicodemus “You must be born again of water and Spirit. The Apostles who we believe on Jesus according to their words understood the assignment and dutifully carried it out. So to interject a hypothetical question about those in prison is futile. We carry out what God has instructed and believe God will provide a way! That same hypothetical scenario can be applied to your “ Profession of Faith” what if an individual is mute and dumb, how will he make a verbal profession?
Salvation in the New Testament church involves: Repentance, baptism in water and the baptism of the Holy Ghost. In short, I have a niece who has been water baptized because she believed the gospel message for a month or two. She knew that she wasn’t baptized in the Holy Spirit but sought after God for it. Well last Sunday she went to the Pastor and said “I really want the Holy Ghost” Pastor instructed her according to the scripture and it wasn’t long after that she was baptized in the HOLY Ghost, with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
So I know brother Corey doesn’t have ill intentions but that’s why I say we must be careful trying to explain away what the scripture clearly illustrates and says. I will never tell someone who tells an unbeliever the same thing the Apostle Peter said when asked after hearing the gospel “ What shall I do” that they are wrong. As it is written, Repent and be baptized “For the remission of sins” I don’t have time to address that part, but remissions of sins is linked with water baptism. Ye will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost! You brothers be blessed!😇

Hey Corey, referring to your point made in 1 Corinthians 1:14, Paul isn't saying that water baptism isn't necessary. See if you read from verse 10 you'd see that the church of Corinth was divided, because there were groups claiming to be of the ministers of Christ (verse11-12), rather than being of Christ himself (much like religion today). Putting them on a pedestal with Christ to be exact. In verse 13 he asks a series of rhetorical questions on of which is, "...or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?" Now, there can only be two answers to this question either "No, we weren't baptized in the name of Paul" or "Yes, we were baptized in the name of Paul"...obviously we know the answer that they'd give (i hope) which is No. So then they were baptized in water...but in whose name? The answer for that is in the second question he asks in verse 13 "...was Paul crucified for you?" No Paul you weren't crucified for me, Jesus Christ was. Which is what verses 14-15 address, that they held him so highly that they would have perverted the way Christ sanctifies his bride (according to Ephesians 5:25-27). So if Paul coming to the understanding that they would have done this while writing this letter, then surely God would've known this when he sent Paul to them, which is why verse 17 doesn't negate the importance of water baptism in Jesus Christ name, it simply states that it was too important to have been perverted by that church had Paul done it when he went there.

Correct. Also, by reading the letter in full, this topic is continued in chapter 3 when he again brings up Apollos when talking about the one who “waters” the seed.
      1 Cor 3:1-8
1 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5 ¶ Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
      1 Cor 2:14
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

You must be baptized of the Spirit and water in addition to placing your faith in Yahusha. Yahusha explains this to Nicodemus when he asks him what must he do to be saved. Peter is exactly correct about Acts 2:38. He was taught by the master himself. Being born of the Spirit and water is literally water baptism and the baptism of the Holy spirit. Repentance is the prerequisite to these acts.

What is the one baptism of our faith according to the Apostle Paul in Eph. 4:1-5? How many times is the word “Spirit” found in the passage, and how many times is the word “water” found?
Eating Kosher is not unbiblical, but it is not required under the New Covenant. Circumcision of male children is not unbiblical, but it is not required under the New Covenant. Trimming your beard according to the Law of Moses is not unbiblical, but it is not required under the New Covenant. Water baptisms were a part of the Old Covenant, but they are not required under the New Covenant. The proof is found below. John baptized with water. Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit. Which one is related to salvation, based on Romans 8:9?
    .
Heb. 9:10 (YLT) only in victuals, and drinks, and different baptisms, and fleshly ordinances-till the time of reformation imposed upon them . (Old Covenant ------> New Covenant)
    .
Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
    Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
    Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
(What is the one baptism of our faith here, based on Eph. 1:12-13, and 1 Cor. 12:13?)
    .
Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
    .
1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
    .
Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
    .
Act 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
    .
Act 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (See Mark 1:8)

I chuckle every time he goes to the Greek. Does he think he's reading Biblical greek? The words in Greek (which is current Greek btw) say the same thing as the English words. He's psuedo exogeseing its like watching an anime in English with Japanese subtitles and then explaining it in English.
While Corey is telling you guys to not get baptized by water, I'll try and remind you of the talk Jesus had with Nicodemus. He used water and spirit. Lets look at the greek see that word kai he wasn't talking about dragonballs he was saying water AND (kai) spirit.
Also PAUL didn't go to Rome..... of course he couldn't baptize the Romans but they did get baptized. There were those in rome that wanted to be baptized specifically by Paul just so they can say 'i was baptized by Paul'. I swear preachers these days y'all pick a verse and work backwards to a sermon.

Why did Philip baptize the Ethiopian Enoch, since it's not necessary? Why didn't he tell him that water baptism wasn't necessary? Perhaps he didn't get to read any of The letters that Paul wrote to the churches because those letters were not written until 56 years later.

It’s funny how he says Mark 16 don’t belong but see the apostles did exactly what Mark 16 days and that’s believing and be baptized

Jesus Himself was baptized in water and He is our example. So its not s Heaven or hell issue. What is your point? That people shouldn't be baptized in water? No scripture says that. Roman 6 even refers to being baptized is that not the water baptism? It has to be because the baptism of the Holy Spirit comes from GOD alone.

Jesus told his disciples they’re not greater than their Master if their Master were persecuted they also will be persecuted. The same with everything Jesus did whatever he did is an example for us all who believed in him to follow him and do the same. If our Master were being baptised why couldn’t we who follow be baptised as it clearly says In the scripture. We are not greater than our Master so as the apostles

God’s word speaks of Baptism of Holy Spirit and baptism by water. Water baptism does not save anyone but it’s important to be baptized to show you will be a part of the death burial and resurrection. It’s obedient. There is no physical act a man can do for his salvation. The whole reason for Jesus, many verses speak of believing and be saved with no mention of being baptized in water. It only makes sense if water baptism is required it would say so. Thief on cross was never water baptized, but I bet he was baptized in Holy Spirit. I love Jesus! I love all you people!

Mark 16:16 comes to mind "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." Jesus himself got baptized, I hate this attempt to make the baptism of water trivial.

Read Acts verse 32-37, they heard the gospel first and were convicted or pierced in their hearts, then Peter said "repent" in order to receive forgiveness of sins and the Holy Spirit. So first thing is hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ, then repent in order to be saved. Verse 38 alone will not justify salvation. Example, Acts 10:38-46, 11:15-18, 15:8-11, 19:3-6, the heart that believes and repent. John 3:16, Matthew 4:17; Romans 10:9,17; Galatians 2:14-16, 3:1-4; Ephesians 1:13-14,2:8-9;1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Faith and repentance are what saves. Not any kind of work or water baptism that saves anyone. John 3:5. John 4:13-14, Jesus says I am the water of life, 1 John 5:7, the Holy Spirit, Water and Blood, Hebrews 10:22, sprinkled with the blood of Christ and cleansed with pure water of the heart through Jesus's name. It is the spiritual water that is in Jesus' name, which saves, not physical water. Christ was born to be a Jew and followed all the laws God had given to the Jews. Why would Christ break any of the law and not do water baptism? He is the law of God. Why would he break His own law? If He did, He would become a sinner Himself. This is why He did water baptism to show he didn't break any law. But people misunderstood the meaning of Christ doing water baptism. Study the tabernacle and receive more wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
