    Many years ago this outstanding adaptation of Abbè Prevost's famous novel "Les avventures du Chevalier Des Grieux et del a Manon Lescaut" came on German television, which I liked very much from the opera and as a read. Unfortunately I wasn't able to record parts 5 and 6 at the time. It is a pity that this adaptation, which is true to detail and original and consistently perfectly cast and lived, is as forgotten as the novel itself. It is my absolute favorite movie and I m so glad to have found him after 40 years.
    It was a cooperation with English TV, so there must be an English version. Also, the material was already somewhat damaged, so it would be worth reconstructing it.
    In the hope that someone will notice, still has the German or English dubbing or surtitles, or can create them, my French isn't quite good enough for this beautiful, heartbreaking but also funny and cheeky mini-series to come back to consciousness. SO PLEASE BUY THE DVD: www.imdb.com/t...

    Thank you so much for uploading this! I'm Greek and I don't speak a single French word. But I can follow the story because of how many times I've read the book in English. Such a powerful and instructive story; what happens to people when they don't measure their passions.

      Qui è Monsieur de R?! The author is. since 1730 officially Abbè Antoine Francois Prévost, at least outside of France. One of the most influencing novels, without not exist dame aux camelie, Carmen or Djamila, composed as opera several times, filmed since 1909. Perhaps France give him another honor Title or Cosyname. I don t know who Mr R. may be.

      oui je me suis posé la même question, c´est pas plutôt à des grieux de rencontrer manon ?

    • @sirkewbic5583
      @sirkewbic5583 Před rokem +8

      Tu t'es emmêlé les pinceaux, alors voici l'explication : Manon Lescaut est écrit par l'Abbé Prévost, et c'est un roman-mémoires, donc un roman fictif mais écrit dans le but de donner l'illusion que ce seraient les vraies mémoires d'une vraie personne.
      Et l'Histoire de Des Grieux et Manon Lescaut n'est que le septième opus d'un grand roman bien plus large de l'Abbé Prévost intitulé Mémoires et aventures d'un homme de qualité, qui est donc un grand roman-mémoires.
      Et dans ce grand roman, "l'homme de qualité", qui se trouve être le narrateur, s'appelle M. de Renoncour. Mais c'est un auteur fictif, un personnage, inventé par l'Abbé Prévost pour créer l'illusion du roman-mémoires.
      Et l'Histoire de Manon Lescaut, dans le roman, est racontée par le Chevalier des Grieux, que rencontre M. de Renoncour. Et dans cette partie du récit, Renoncour n'est que le scribe de Des Grieux car il couche à l'écrit le récit oral que lui fait ce dernier.
      Voilà, j'espère que je t'ai éclairci. 😆

      Pourqois? Because it's the first feminist emancipation novel and the "most beautiful lovestory of the world with most influence on literature from dames aux camelies to Jane Eyre to Carmen to Djamila? Than you shouldn t read also Jane Eyre with its erotic allusions and sarcastic antichurch critics.
