  • Second day of an overnight hike of the Gabrielino Trail in Angeles National Forest. I start at the Valley Forge Trail Camp and hike to the
Chantry Flats Picnic Area/Trailhead, making a detour to see Sturdevant Falls. The trail contains many deadfalls in this section as well as water crossings, views of a snow covered Mt. Baldy, and both ruins and intact cabins from the Great Hiking Era.

As I remember, West Fork Campground used to contain the 2nd oldest Forest Service Station in the country. Unfortunately, I don't remember if they moved it or it was burn't down in a fire or what. Good video and well done, thank you!

I did it in March. Right now about half of it is closed since the Bobcat Fire recently blew through there. I believe the section up until Red Box is open, but check the Angeles National Forest site for the latest updates.
