- This is a walking tour around downtown Sarasota Florida. We start out crossing the Sunshine Skyway Bridge then arrive at the marina in downtown Sarasota then walk up Main Street and explore the cosmopolitan vibes around the city.

The downtown/city limits has a population of 60,000. The County, which is quite large and includes Nokomis, Osprey and Venice, plus Siesta, lido and Longboat Key is about 600,000/
I live in Orlando, and it is terrible living inland. Florida shines when visiting or living on the coastal cities, specifically like you said, on the Gulf side especially. My corporate building for the company I work for is located in Sarasota, however I've never been, but after seeing this video I want to go! The Indy car race in St. Pete is amazing, I really enjoy that area as well. Thanks for the video :)
Man, looks nice. Wish I were there. I enjoyed the tour. Crazy to see people living pretty much normally. I'm in California where people still wear masks when walking by themselves down small neighborhood streets and everyone is afraid of each other. I feel like packing up and moving to Sarasota immediately. (Don't worry, Floridians, I won't.)

16:29 Just below and to the left of the Opera House sign is a statue of a goblin(I guess) which is attached to the building and I've always found to be quite interesting and is visible on google earth street level. Great video by the way!

Wish we were walking together so I could correct your unintentional misinformation. Tampa Bay is the Gulf and so is Sarasota's Bay. Marina Jack's is the name of the restaurant, The Gulf side is the Gold Coast. Tampa is no part of Sarasota County! This mistake will piss off Florida Residents. Sarasota was the "Winter Home". Their Home, John and Mable is on the North Tamiami Trail and is magnificent! As is the Museum....I could go on and on but I don't want to bum you out. I lived there for many years and am going back for a visit next month. Your video will help me see the visual changes, which are always swift and numerous. Oh and BTW, that building you said was nice when you pointed at Bird Key in the beginning is actually two both hotel and Condos. The new building eclipsed the view for tenants over at the Ritz, one of SRQ's many battles, great place but chock for of crazy at any level. Namaste

That same sculpture of the sailor and nurse kiss is in San Diego Cal. and Stamford Conn. I suppose2 of them are replicas and the San Diego's sculpture is the original one, as there's a Naval Base on there and it may has been created to honor the sailors of the Naval Base.

Of Sarasota, Dunedin and other places you've visited, which would you consider living in (if any)? And why? I'm transferring to Florida for work in Sept. I work from home and can live anywhere. I had hoped to visit for a week this month to check out the various cities, but that's not going to happen so I'm moving more or less blind. After watching a ton of videos, I know I want to live on the gulf side, just not sure where. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
