- Season Two: Episode 5 | Hunting Surface Swords Part II
After successfully capturing a day time surface swordfish on day 2 of their 5 day excursion, the team sets their sights on landing a new team record- landing 2 surface swords in one trip. Day 3 kicks off a little different as the team attempts to start the morning with some white seabass and halibut fishing. Several fish are caught with a 40lb halibut as a consolation prize.
With still a few days left the trip is just getting started. Swordfish are in no shortage and the team hands off several to a local harpoon boat, the Sharon G. A special item makes its way to the dinner menu, swordfish heart?! Tune in for part 2 of a SoCal trip for the books!

what a dream i've been fishing 22 years and since the day I learned about surface sword fishing it's been a glinting dream. I can't wait until I can take the time to experience and appreciate that fishery
Loved the video. Brings back many memories. I remember the 1978 season, it was epic! Loved hearing Jock Albright’s name. We won a masters Marlin tournament on his boat many years ago. I’ve been in Oregon for 27 years chasing a different kind of fish. Thanks for the memories and the smiles.
Funny how Steve mentioned that there were 250 permits in '77. By 1980, there were over 2000. Everyone got a plank. I don't think the Dreadnought ever had one though.
Epic trip with Anthony and crew didn’t know Calif had such spectacular fishing and truly breathtaking scenery so blessed to part of the trip
That harpoon is epic, that has to be an incredible feeling!!
EPIC!!!! Thank You SIR/TEAM!!!
Cool stuff. Keep it coming!!!
Great video guys miss SO CA, grew up there working on boats and know some of you. Up in Charleston Oregon for about the last six years fishing tuna so I really enjoy your videos. Keep it up
We hunt these kind of fish in Indonesia..
No one as expert as you.. ended in either line out / broken line.. I'm still studying how to land these kind of fish
Look at all those worms sea bass heck yes
You guys inspire me!!
Amazing!!!
Thanks for sharing your trips with us
Spot on!👊🏻🇺🇸
Great videos and stories. I fish out of Ghana West Africa, but have never seen any surface Swordfish, nor heard of any getting caught. It's mainly Wahoo and Dorado here, and the occasional Blue Marlin and Tuna. Illegal commercial fishing has dwindled stocks.
Jealousy has no limits 👍
As always First Quality content
Quality humble content!
Wow this is so cool 👌
Iam not sure how many realize what a feat it is to not only catch one surface Sword but even to cast a livey on a heavy conventional. Its something i believe far less than .001% of the population will ever see or much less do
Wow super stuff
Where can one get those eyecups that fit on those Fuji
That seem to block out the light from the side
Advise
Thanks
Those fish arent on the top of the water looking for food, thats why they dont want anything to do with it.
It would seem inaccurate casting is a big problem here. Most of the casts in both videos were either lining the fish or behind the fish.
Tranx for the win 😂😂😂
Cool
