  • Situation:
    SAN DIEGO is ordered into formation with the MAKIN ISLAND ARG.
    MKI (the Guide) is on course 060°T at a speed of 15 knots. The Guide bears 200°T
    from SAN DIEGO at a range of 18,000 yards. At 0830, SAN DIEGO is ordered to take
    station 090°R from the Guide at a range of 8,000 yards and is to come no closer than
    4,000 yards while passing astern of MAKIN ISLAND. Using a stationing speed of 20
    knots, determine the following:
    Course #1 to Station
    Bearing and Range to Guide at M2
    Course #2 to Station
    Time of Station

    Correct. There's very little on maneuvring boards. Yours is a welcome addition. If I might make a suggestion, using a marker pen would make it easier to see your plotting when viewing on a cellphone. I've been following Chris Nolan (Practical Navigator) and NE College online (Bob Glover) to try to get the basics and they often sacrifice precision for clarity to get the methods across for benefit of learners.
