The paper doesn't ignite, but you guys (obviously) have to use thick candles like the ones I show in the video ;)
This is sooooo cool. And so the paper won't catch fire? And could I use any paper, thicker paper like crafts paper? I really appreciate it😘
I think, rather than ironing DIRECTLY on the napkin, I would put a piece of parchment paper between the napkin and the iron. It would keep the iron from getting wax all over it, and would stop transferring black streaks from the iron on to the napkin.
I use a heat gun , my embossing gun to do the same , it's much easier and no mess x

If you use a blowdryer instead of an iron, the wax will still melt and soak into the paper. Just be careful about burning a candle decorated like this. The paper is extremely flammable once it's been soaked in wax. On a test burn to see how they performed, one of mine went up in flames in a split second. I intentionally pushed the paper over toward the flame to try to simulate the worst-case scenario. It was pretty exciting for about a minute. **WHOOSH** and all of the paper was burned completely off.
I do this using tissue paper and a embossing gun, made great Christmas gift this year!

Very pretty. In case anyone is wondering, the paper shouldn't ignite because it's melted into the wax.

No, it doesn't, it takes just a few seconds. The wax soaks through the paper really quickly, and this protects the paper. It would take a while to burn the paper, but it would get kind of "toasted". So don't worry, It won't ignite.

Such a beautiful and easy idea... But I would start at the top of the napkin instead of the middle, then you can decorate 2 candles with one napkin.

No, you can totally light them. When you use thick candles, the only wax that melts is the one on the middle. The "outside walls" usually stay up until the wick is finished.

Cut wicks to 1/4". The candle will burn slower, and not blaze up.
Easy & beautiful. One question though - does the candle wax get onto the iron? Wouldn't want to mess up a good iron...
It would have to. I would probably use a layer of parchment paper or something similar in between the iron and the napkin in order to save my iron

I tried this but with a thinner candle.Glad i was close,the napkin caught fire...so if you wanna make this candles be very cautious.
brilliant idea, what happens to the paper when you want to burn the candle does it start peeling off or are these just for decorative use?
