    Lesson 1 - Basic VFR
    We’ll focus on introducing you to basic aircraft handling skills. Get the weather information from the Automated Terminal Information Service (ATIS) and coordinate with ATC to depart Liverpool, following the Entry/Exit route known as “Mersey Lane” to Seaforth at the control zone (CTR) boundary, before practicing some basic handling once in uncontrolled airspace.

    Well done. Watched the whole video and you really did well. Small tip that may help you when trimming for level fight....when adjusting trim up or down, give the aircraft little time to settle down before countering with opposite trim input. Say the aircraft is climbing and you trim are down and you notice the nose of the aircraft dips past the level flight on your artificial horizon and continues dipping...Wait few seconds and you will see the speed increase as the nose points down...This speed increase will give the wings more lift, raising the nose again without you needing to input up trim...You will get the feel for it after some practice and you will not find yourself fighting the trim and "chasing the nose". Hope this help. Happy flying.

      Trim is one of the hardest things I have had with sims as compared to real world. The lack of feeling the trim take the pressure off the controls makes it a guessing game as to how much to use and when to stop adjusting it.

      @JamesDavidWalley Před 2 lety +1

      @@robertvroman6788 FWIW, there is a yoke available (for P3D at least; not sure if it's yet available for MSFS) that uses force-feedback to simulate the control pressure. You simply trim until you feel the pressure to hold the position abate. Unfortunately, I believe that yoke costs $3-4K.

    FS Acadamy have done a great job with these VFR and IFR lessons- a lot of thought and time put into them. Its the sort of lessons that a premium MSFS package should have shipped with.

    • @TennshadowGaming
      @TennshadowGaming  Před rokem

      Overall, I think they are pretty good and worth it. However, I do feel some studying on your own would be helpful for some of the lessons for complete new pilots.

    Try to keep your focus mainly outside (%90 landscape, %10 panels, instruments, etc.) so that you can "feel" the airplane. It takes a while to get used to it but after some practice, you'll gain a sense of flying. Totally normal to check out instruments at the beginning but as said more you practice less it'll seem complicated and more fun you'll get flying.

    I've been into the MSFS 2020 for about six months now, mainly flying GA aircrafts and some small jets. Still learning. Especially the navigation bit (VOR) is for some reason a bit of a handful to get my head around. I think FS academy is the way to go. Seriously considering getting the VFR and IFR section. I follow a ton of youtube channels that do tutorials - which is great. However, I tend to get a little confused watching tutorials from a number of content creators - each with their own approach to one subject.

    Great video, when I learned to fly the hardest habit to break was not looking at my instruments. It’s very busy when you first start to fly, but over time you learn to filter out the noise.

    Have just started viewing your excellent videos. What I would like to hear from you is an in-depth assessment/overview of the FS Academy products for relatively new simmers. What are the major strengths and weaknesses and overall value. How does it compare to FS Flying School? What order you recommend doing the 4 FS Academy courses. Thanks. Much appreciated!

    • @TennshadowGaming
      @TennshadowGaming  Před 2 lety +1

      I can't compare these to FS Flying School since I've never used it. Overall, I liked them and they were worth the money to me. I learned a lot of good information from them. My biggest complaint is with this VFR series. I didn't like how it kept changing the aircraft out. For a new user trying to learn the different procedures, I would have liked to have the same plane the whole series. As for an order, I'd do VFR, the Navigator, IFR, and Jetliner. Thanks for watching!!

      VFR flying is where you learn how to fly. You then work your way up to IFR. Flying in VFR with good scenery can be an amazing experience. I know for me personally, I’ve learn more about flying when starting at the bottom and working my way up. I use to just do IFR flights but over the course of these lessons I’ve realized I’ve been missing out on so much.
