Hi!, I haven't seen you in a long time!, right?
Yes, maybe I know, I spent more than 6 months developing this, but I hope you can understand it.
You know, I know that saying "It was my first time doing such a thing" is not a justification, but really yes, it is the first time that I do this and that is why you may see animation errors in some parts, because I had to redo the project (D VS SMW) and well it finally came out "perfect" or something good I guess.
I know you're not interested in my life, so now it's fun facts about Darkness V.S. Super Mario World! Maybe some will interest you, you know.
--Fun facts-
1- Without realizing it, the video lasts exactly 15 minutes, very silly, right?
2-If you turn on the subtitles when characters like Mario or Koopa speak, you can read what they really said!
3-This is not so much a "First Episode" but rather a prototype to see if it is really popular and worth putting effort into a next episode, since it is somewhat tiring to do this alone.
4-In the video there are 2 "Original" Themes created by me, which are "Sonic's Telling theme" and "Welcome to Super Mario World", there was going to be a third song even more original, but due to problems of time and desire and knowledge ( Maybe) this one didn't reach more than one prototype and I didn't finish it.
5-Scenes like one in which Pibby explained to Koopa how to speak using his ability to create physical words, Mario and Sonic Glitch fight, or others in the intro where Sonic, Bf and Pibby were seen fleeing from the glitch through levels such as Chemical Plant Zone or Emerald Hill in which looked somewhat interesting in the background (it would be a spoiler to say so), were sadly discarded because they were not interesting to watch.
6-This was originally going to be half an hour, but I rethought it and kept it to 10 minutes to see if it's worth continuing. (The best decision of my life I think)
7-This is obviously a continuation and origin of the Nintendoesnt video (you should see it and understand a little)
8-Being my first time doing something like this, I had to demand too much from my PC to be able to animate, export, edit, etc.
9-Physics like those of Koopa, Mario, or another enemy or object, are totally calculated and made as if it were the original Super Mario World, the same with Sonic... That means that I spent playing Super Mario World, Kirby, and Sonic almost an quarter of time.
10-If this continued, in the next episodes you could see things like the evolution and improvement of Mario and Sonic or others' skills and characters, see how Pibby sees the harsh reality and adapts to it, new and "original" characters that could be friends or enemies, etc.
11-If you noticed, Pibby is a little bothered by BF sometimes, this happens because Pibby is bothered by how immature and stupid BF can be on risky occasions. (even though Bf tries to be understandable)

And that would be almost all, it is a spoiler to say more because that will only be when this is something "profitable" in time and energy. (it's very tiring to do this animation... even if I was procrastinating half the time)

10:10 That throw was personal
I absolutely LOVE how Mario was saved because BF's bullet hit the goal thingy(?) (And of course in Super Mario World once you reach the goal, ALL enemies disappear, or in this case, get set sent flying).
I'd like to imagine Bowser being so baffled and confused on how Finn just massacred his entire army due to appearing as a normal kid (now that I mention it, I think the reason why Jake wasn't there was because Finn is a one man army with the darkness, so he doesn't really need him).
I can imagine Bowser's reaction being like: "HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?! HE'S A FUCKING KID!" before he got turned into turtle soup.

Kirby being the first to be corrupted is problematic but smart at the same time. The darkness likes to aim for the strongest characters first so it'll be easier to overpower other characters and takeover other franchises.
Also it makes sense since kirby's attacks are mostly meele and its not really fast
Yup, Kirby's the same guy who fought godlike beings and other universal threats
Most of kirby’s strength comes from his ability to absorb and copy opponents. It would of course be hard for that to really work when the opponent in question infects through contact
I don't think this is the case, perhaps it's because Kirby's attacks are especially melee and copy powers. Kirby could have tried to attack The Darkness and that's why he was corrupted. Furthermore, I personally think that Mario and Sonic, both at their peak, are more powerful than Kirby, as both have already defeated Multiversal threats (Super Dimentio, Solaris) with enemies with the ability to literally erase existence, in addition to manipulating reality.
Even when corrupted Kirby still can be play free.

All the little nods to everyones games are an amazing touch, Sonic, bf and pibby barely surviving because the credits rolled was an incredible idea, The fact a koopa is apart of the main cast is a nice change of pace instead of just being consumed by the darkness, Everything is amazing and cant wait to see what comes next for this series, Definitely worth the wait!

Animations great, and I absolutely love the fact Mario treats the koopa poorly (since he's one of Bowsers troops). Too add on, unlike most darkness videos, this one actually has depth into it! 10/10
Mario's explanation to Pibby on Bad guys was something to remember, given the type of show she's from, Pibby's never really known the concept of evil characters just that it's better to make friends. Poor girl has a lot to learn about reality that this apocalypse isn't gonna go easy with.
This is totally me when a fanbase is more dedicated and caring to the concept than the original creators. Ngl, I was half expecting this to be a bit of mid quality because of the little blue goblin, however, I wasn't just proven wrong, I was exctatic! This has to be some of the best stuff to come from pibber and the darkness. I can't wait to see what comes next for our unlikely allies.

In the scene where mario talks to pibby, he shouldn't have known that she thought everyone was nice, instead explaining that Bowser kidnaped the princess, and sent his minions out to defend him.
This episode was pretty good! I like how you replicated the style for each game.
As for a potentional suggestion, Maybe have Boyfriend slowly lose his sanity later down the line? Like in certain episodes he begins to feel more agitated and snap at people.

You did an incredible job with this! As someone who's watched sprite animations for years this is actually so well made, you knocked it out of the park with this first episode alone!
I honestly love all the little details like them escaping the darkness in Sonic's world by having him literally complete the game by collecting all the emeralds or having BF smile at the little squirrel that survived in Sonic's world at the credits (I wonder what happened to it).
I like how you utilised core gameplay mechanics as a weakness for the darkness like when BF Shoots the goal post with a bullet it pushes the darkness back which sort of temporarily resets the level to how it was allowing them to escape with Mario.
I also like the little detail of 2 unknown figures showing up on the map for a split second when they are flying towards the castle. (My guess is the one on the right is Metal Sonic and the one on the left is Knuckles though I could obviously be wrong)
I also like seeing you include a Red Koopa enemy as a character as it's honestly really unique having a regular enemy also be focused on rather than exclusively on important characters, I honestly really hope that the Red Koopa survives and develops as a character as the journey continues proving that he can be more than just a forgettable obstacle for the player which seems to be happening based on the fact that it learned to speak a little at the ending. It shows that Pibby is still helping others learn despite the situation they are in!
I will say in terms of feedback I do think that Mario comes across a a little too serious or mean spirited sometimes since Mario is generally portrayed as the nicest guy ever in most of the Mario Games. Mario telling Pibby that she is "Too nice" feels like he should have instead told her about the situation regarding Bowser and him sending out his minions to stop him from rescuing the princess, although a part of me also guesses that you based his personality on his counterparts from the super Mario bros super show which did have a slightly more feisty personality for Mario which in that case works still!
Overall I'd say you did a fantastic job, there is clearly a lot of passion behind this and I look forward to seeing if you decide to continue this!

As for Mario yeah I understand now, I think using his older personality from the shows works since Super Mario World came around the time of those shows before all the modern stuff came so it makes a lot more sense now!
I did also assume he was acting like that because of what he went through before during the fight with Sonic & Kirby and the loss of his brother to the darkness although I do feel him changing so suddenly is a bit quick considering Pibby & BF have presumably been running from the darkness for a while before they entered Mario's world and they both seem to relatively still act similar to how they did before they met the darkness despite the many horrific events they no doubt witnessed while on the run with BF still acting goofy despite the situation they are in like when he starts zoning out at the pipes or him asking Tails if he wants to rap battle at Eggman's base in that one flashback, At least I think that's what was happening in the flashback. Although a part of me is aware Boyfriend is canonically incredibly stupid so who knows how fair of a comparison it is. (Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if he only learned what 2 + 2 was because of Pibby lmao)

I especially loved the little details you put in like when sonic got knocked into a block and the coin got exhcnaged into a ring at 4:52 and especially the moment when the red koopa fell back a bit to avoid getting poofed by the goal explosion at 8:06 ! I think it was def worth all the effort and time you put into this! Keep on cooking bro, this is lookin to be something pretty special!
The absolutely wild connection that the fan base of these three games in is astounding, whenever you think Mario or Sonic you’re also gonna probably lead to something with Boyfriend if you’ve played or know a bit of fnf and it’s mods, it’s interesting seeing how this character has become a part of many fandom multiverses

Wow! That was such a cool video! I really love how you turned the designs of both BF, and Pibby into the SMW game style! Really impressive stuff (I also noticed that at the start of the video, BF and Pibby were in the style of Sonic, but then once they got to Mario's world, they both changed to the style of that one instead! I really appreciate that attention to detail.)!
Also, I really appreciate that you showed what happened before they even got to the Mario world, not only does it add a lot more complexity to the story, but also explains some parts of it, like how Sonic got there, and why he wanted to help BF & Pibby in the first place (Though, I would like to know how Kirby and Mega Man got corrupted, and how Sonic recognizes Kirby.)! Something I like about this portrayal is how the darkness or glitch/infection is a lot more limited unlike in original Pibby where the darkness is constantly just paving over and festering everywhere it touches in this case it seems to be moreso a residue thats more of a solitary collective where yes it does kill and possess its hosts unless in pursuit it seems that the hosts can act independently of the collective residue and dont need to be physically tethered too it giving the hosts much more independence and the collective ooze more manuverability since it seems to be much smaller and reserved instead of slowly spreading in mass across the land its just an interesting change in portrayal and in how it functions that shows the darkness while is volatile and dangerous is much more limited and vulnerable when its unable to cover ground in mass to build an army and instead needs to be much more pick and choosey with its host's

I really like this animation, though I think Mario kind of acts out of character cus hes usually a happy and outgoing character and doesnt really snap/get aggressive at people even koopas
this was an intense video, the action packed and the unsettling parts made the video TEN TIMES BETTER!!!! i also like how you added meanwhile scenes of NINTENDOESN'T for parts of the video! i'm really interested to see a part 2 of this, maybe even a separate song that ties into it!

You did amazing with this entire episode. It’s amazing how all the little scenes and animations fit the style being replicated extremely well! I also love those fight scenes a lot. One thing I do suggest is fix the weird faded inbetween frames in this, as it makes it a lot less clean. Even then, this has to be one of the best PIBBY interpretations I’ve ever seen anywhere. I love your animations, and I hope that you continue this series, as it has an extreme degree of quality to its name, and seems to be very interesting with it’s characters, animations, and plot. This could easily be one of my favorite Mario videos ever made on this platform. Please, keep this up! You have skills man, and you can do a lot with those skills. :D

And speaking of the motion blurs, yes it seemed strange to me too, but I didn't want to wait another 2 hours for the video to export, I guess I'll try turning off the blur option to make it look even more similar how should be in the game haha.
Seeing an actual fully animated form of LWP (even if pixelated) is so cool to see. I'm really glad you made this, it's so cool!! You deserve a lotta views for this kinda work. Me personally I'd like to maybe see some more characters from other games?? Something like legend of zelda, could be any character or just any other pixelated game of the sort. I'd love to see more of this, and highly encourage you to make more of this as I feel it could really get somewhere!! And another thing I love also, is how you don't just make it main characters which survive. Yeah, Mario's alive obviously but you kept just a random red koopa alive. It feels really fitting with LWP and the darkness as it's not like the darkness picks it's favourite side characters to consume but it's just based on pure luck on if they survive or not and so I love the fact that you've kept the red koopa alive and maybe we could see more side characters of games surviving in this? Or maybe Mario could get corrupted later on if you do decide to continue this (could be replaced with someone like peach!! Which I feel could make a pretty unique survivor) or just any other character! This is all just in my opinion though, after all it's your story so not like I have a say in what you do. But just giving my personal feedback and such!! Have a good and and I really hope to see more D VS SMW!!

This was so fucking good! I can't wait to see what you have in store for this, the potential for crossovers with other game series is amazing! My one note is that I wish characters like Mario Luigi and Sonic had dialogue like in other sprite series'. I seriously hope you make a part two of this because this was so good!

I absolutely love this. The positive impact of the Pibby Fandom really amazes me sometimes, especially since I still love this show so much.
One note is that you could spell check a few sentences when you’re writing them out. And another would be to keep a good idea of the characterization you want for the characters. Make sure to have a guideline!

I like to think that kirby got infected because of his power of absorb. He was fighting the darkness then he saw an infected enemy and tried to absorb the power(what I remember is that the enemy absorbed turns into a Star inside kirby) and the darkness was in contact with kirby’s body and infected him by this way(but he must got infected by other way idk it’s just an imagination)

I already watched the other videos of your channel and i didn't expected a long video like this one, i actually loved the sprites of this and my favorite part when mario was running from darkness, referecing that video of FNF that you made (FNF Nintendoesn't), i can't even think what i can tell for you to improve the quality of this, it's already perfect for me.
I love how you actually made the characters have their mechanic from they own games, and i got some ideas right here, you could add more characters for the plot, like, they are in Super Mario World, so it would be nice if it had more characters like, the goombas, more of the bowser's koopas (or sons) and in the middle of the history, pibby and her friends could like, fighting with them like, you know, they are in bowser's side and probably they wouldn't know about the virus yet.
I don't know what to say now, this video is perfect, every single detail, it would be nice if had a part 2
EDIT: Some of characters like Sonic or Mario could like, have a text ballon so we would understand what exactly they are talking about
EDIT 2: I like how you created a new theme using the Super Mario World Instrumentals when Mario, Pibby, Boyfriend and Koopa was running
Thx! Even so, I think it can be improved even more in issues such as the script and animation, and in case there are any doubts, Mario, Sonic and others do have dialogues, you can see them if you activate the subtitles (I forgot to put that info in the video) .

Oh, and maybe an idea is Peach escaping from Bowser's Castle with his helicopter, and maybe meet the crew...
I think one interesting take could be to have one of the next worlds they visit be one where absolutely nobody made it out, rather than just one or two survivors. Alternatively, one where nearly everyone survived for one reason or another.

The corruption(or darkness) will only corrupt protagonists because they ALWAYS are someway stronger.
So if the red koopa gets left behind for little seconds while being chased.. he will die instantly.
Maybe boyfriend if he dies somehow he could retry but if he gets corrupt i dont think hes coming back.
I was expecting this to be another fnf mod. I’m pleasantly surprised that it isn’t! (Not that I would’ve minded if it WAS a mod.) This is on par with the mario animations I’d used to watch on newgrounds as a kid like SMBZ or rise of the mushroom kingdom. Love it!
Imagine if The Darkness had it in another games (Angry Birds,Pac Man, Donkey Kong...)

i hope that Sonic and Luigi escape. It’d be cool to see the two fighting with the others. Sonic narrowly escaped his world only to perish in the next and Luigi just got done dirty lmao. Other then that, I really like this episode, the concept of the darkness spreading through both forms of media (video games and shows) is really cool. I hope we can get a prologue of what happened in Sonic’s world. Good job, i really liked this!
