Personally I would love a Band of Brothers or the Pacific type serie in the Halo universe, were you would follow a platoon or a small squad of ODSTs, going from their training in Reach to seeing the fall of the planet, being some of the last evacuated with civilians, and then have them participate in the battle of earth, fighting side by side with elite rebels, witnessing the flood arrival at Voi and finally the battle of the ark. I think you could have a really good cast and tackle many themes like humanity facing extinction, fighting for a greater cause, survival etc. Also the characters being ODSTs means that there is still tension as they aren't the godlike soldiers that spartans are. it would also give the opportunity of showing the real scale of the war, as in the lore even a grunt is a serious threat to your average human, so creatures like brutes and elites would be the stuff of nightmares for them.
If you remember those halo ads from a few years ago, they were the perfect, theme, setting and tone for the odst, yet sadly all we got was a few shorts to act as trailers, they were awesome though. What you describe combined with that would be too perfect for words.
In my mind, a heroic last stand that sees all of the odst troopers die at the end of the series, followed by an after credits scene where a lone spartan finds all their bodies and vows to finish the fight, would be the most amount of interaction you could have with a spartan before the magic is lost.
John Carpenter has actually expressed interest in directing a Dead Space movie! Obviously nothing has happened yet, but considering he directed The Thing remake from the 80s I think it’s safe to say it would be in good hands.
Lol I forgot The Thing 1982 was a remake from a completely different type of film from the 50s
Ghost of tsushimas story, setting and gamelpay are all incredible and would work great in a movie which I believe Chad Stilhelski is trying to do
Yeah I think they confirmed they're making a ghost of tsushima movie, I will die inside if it gets cancelled tho😂
For Dead Space you have two animated movies already, but both are about what happens before each first two games. I do recommend a lot the first one, with the animated movie of Dante's Inferno 👌🏼
I have an idea for a little nightmares adaptation. The set is a stop motion model, and the monsters are stop motion, but the kid characters are played by live actors.
I'm so excited for Little Nightmares III.
Soul Reaver/ Legacy of Kain series is absolutely perfect for movie or tv series adaptation. The only problem would be the voice actors are so good but old and some have sadly passed away like Tony Jay and Renee Auborjonois. It's very hard to get actors to replace them when they did some of the best voice work for any game series ever.
This is a phenomenal list
I’d like to see a god of war adaptation of how Kratos got to Midgard met Faye then what Kratos Atreus and Mimir did during fimblewinter and what the Aesir did during gow 4
Warhammer: Space Marine. I know Henry Cavil has joined Games Workshop as a producer for a planned cinematic universe, but for a short series kinda like Band of Brothers, Space Marine would be sick, either telling their version of the games story or a different story with Titus set before the ork invasion, showing how he became a captain or something. It would be really cool to see, and with Space Marine 2 dropping in 2023 with a lot of hype from gameplay trailers, it would be a great time to announce its in the works.
Even Gears of War is Warhammer -light.
I've always felt the Mass Effect games (maybe an altered/revised ending for ME3 though) would make a good TV series. I feel the characters and story arcs and just the world building is really solid in those games. The way the discovery of the Reapers and that whole plot unfolds could be very dramatic and interesting. Would likely be expensive to faithfully produce though. I think you're spot on with a Dead Space with a claustrophobic and practical effects feel. Something along the lines of horror-thriller like Event Horizon would be great. RE7 is also a good one.
Was so happy to see RDR2 on this list. Henry Cavill has basically volunteered to play Arthur Morgan.
I think the Mandalorian showed us that you could 100% do a Halo story following Master Chief where he doesn’t constantly remove his helmet.
They can just use his body to emote and comment on his coldness and how he’s shut off from everyone by having him learn to open up, love etc.
We can follow others and learn how Chief has impacted their lives and what their thoughts of him are, we can learn more about him through how he relates to their stories.
That so true, it almost seems like in the halo series they forgotn that actors can act with helmets on. It worked very well in the mandalorien...
I think it’s way more possible that we’ll be getting more quality ones. With Castlevania, Dota: Dragon’s Blood, Arcane, The Last of Us, and the Super Mario Bros Movie I’m optimistic.
I really want to see The Walking Dead: Telltale Games adapted into a TV series. There’s so many great stories to it, but to see Clementine’s journey on screen for 7-8 seasons would be amazing.
7-8 seasons of boring filler… yeah, sounds perfectly in line with TWD universe.
I'd like an Elder Scrolls TV series, there's so much they could do:
Alessia - slave girl overthrows tyrant elves & establishes an empire
Tribunal - mortals use power of a dead god to become gods
Great War - taken from perspective of both the Empire & the Dominion
Crisis - the Oblivion Crisis
Dragonborn - after events of Skyrim, Dragonborn needs make an alliance to stand against the Dominion
An Ysgramor show would be cool, but it'd be pretty violent since he leads a genocidal war against the Snow Elves; one about Tiber Septim would be good if a bit similar to Alessia.
Also an alternate show, where the Dragonborn decides to be evil, becoming a Vampire Lord & takes over Tamriel, wipes out the Khajit & Argonians, turns Summerset into a blood farm using Altmer blood; they're closet to their gods, I bet they're blood tastes nicer than the other races; & seeks to dominate all of Nirn.
Chief can work, look at the pilot breakdown scene and spartan griffin death scene in halo infinite. Perfect examples of how he can work if you know what he has been through. SPartan Griffins scene hits hard for me cause chief shows care and heartbreak at the death of a spartan. I want to see this powerful saviour of humanity showing weakness and folley, it makes me feel like no matter how all powerful you are, you still get hit with the same struggles as everyone else. For chief these two scenes were the conflict of love
Another halo show, but it follows the story of the games (with a few small tweaks). Season 1 would be halo ce, u could basically make each level into an episode, expand on all of the characters, chief, cortana, keyes, johnson, etc.
Honestly, for any form of media, I go with the release order. That's how I got into the series a couple of years ago and I never felt lost.
I really hope that the F.E.A.R. game series gets an adaption!
It’s a crime that the Mass Effect trilogy isn’t here!
Perfect suggestion
Holy shit I'd kill for a Gears of War adaptation, i did not realize how much i want that till your video 😂 Id want Resistance too, that game was dope
I would love to see an adaptation of Mass Effect, it’s like a space version of Lord of the Rings and the dynamics between Shepard and their crew is just golden. I’m not sure if it should be animated or live action, but either way I’ll be there whenever they decide to make the adaptation.
I really liked this concept. I always appreciate it when you change it up. a lil’. Your reviews are well thought out and personable, but these “speculative” videos feel a bit more vulnerable
A dream game or it's world that could be adapted for me would be Red Dead. It could work perfectly as a TV show. An original story on other outlaws set during the game would be great.
I like the editing on this one. And the premise, of course, as long as we get good filmmakers at the helm. We don't talk about Master Cheeks.
God of War: just two lovable characters going on fun adventures across the realms😂
A Borderlands show or movie would be pretty good, they already have fairly fleshed out characters and a good bit of world building in place
Skyrim would be epic as a multi series tv show. They have shown that they would be able to do the effects with shows like Game of thrones and The witcher.
Dead Space would be awesome. Actually Event Horizon is kind off a Dead Space movie avant la lettre.
Borderlands. Specifically the Handsome Jack stuff. It would be difficult considering how many playable characters there are.
Overwatch could've been the Arcane before Arcane.
Gears of war original trilogy is my favourite game trilogy I have ever played, no game has made me cry before and this was the only one to do so, I would hope of they make a film/series they don’t butcher it
Some Nintendo franchises would be perfect for film adaptations like Zelda or Metroid.
If done correctly an animated Zelda movie could genuinely be brilliant. And a Metroid movie basically feeling like a mix between Alien and The Mandalorian in either live action or animation would go crazy.
I always thought Team Fortress 2 was designed for a TV show. Expiration day has tens of millions of views, PLEASE make a full show
It was actually going to have an animated series on Adult Swim, but.... well, you know how Valve is.
I would love a Halo Reach story
I pray to the omnissiah every day for a high budget anthology series on Warhammer 40k.
Y’all should really watch Deadwood. It’s one of the best TV shows I wish I saw when it aired.
What would scare me about a RDR2 adaption would be that they would heavily cut from a lot of the best. A TV Show would DEFINITELY work best
I know I'm late but I've wished for a HBO take on Mortal Kombat. A series with a large cast of characters that have some really interesting stories.
What if halo, the story is being told by the people around Master Chief. People that went to war with him or got rescued by him in his mission. Kinda like in that halo trailer.
A Halo Reach show that was faithful to the game would be the greatest thing ever.
If they did Return to Castle Wolfenstein or Wolfenstein 2009 it would be interesting tv show.
Telling the story of God of War 4 would be pointless without the history of Kratos's character from the prior trilogy.
The reason why the story and character arc of Kratos in God of War 4/Ragnarok works so incredibly well is because Kratos, as a character, is a vulnerable father who finally found something to lose again.
While in the prior trilogy, he lost everything he possibly could.
Which, as a result, led to the destruction of Olympus and ancient Greece by his very own hands.
It would be a very big mistake if this would be shown after the events that play out during Ragnarok.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is literally perfect for an adaption.
Horizon Zero Dawn would also be a great fit
Halo Wars 2 would be a great adaptation
I wanted to see StarCraft as a TV series, not meddled by Blizzard, not even written by bad writers we have today. I wanted to see it because it's one of my favorite games I've ever played, and I want to see where the story goes with improvements from the original source material.
Most of my dream games I want animated in 2D and will sadly never happen . My list. Jak & Daxter,Sly,Kingdom Hearts,Spyro, Phatasy Star Universe,Oni,EOE, Tales of Xillia, and a Sonic series based of the Archie comics…The GOOD parts including the Sonic & MegaMan crossover.
For live action shows.
Mortal Kombat,Metroid,Prototype,Sleeping Dogs,Infamous 1-Second Son,Mafia, and Resident Evil for the 8th time DONE RIGHT with the original script & screenplay by the late great George R. Romero from the very first movie before Paul threw it out and ruined everything.
I so badly want a Bioshock Infinite TV series
Call of the first three games do have cool storyline. Could be cool as well. Or a Fallout. Dragon age.
Halo reach would be a perfect show
I would add Beyond Good And Evil. That game would make an awesome film
They should try adapting The Witcher video games since the books adaptation didn't went that well :))
I think that the thing about Bioshock is that it would have to be a conpletely original story with really only the setting, Andrew Ryan and Big Daddy being carried over. I would also think a RE7 movie would be kind of pointless and all the things that make it good are done because its a first person videogame and nothing would be improved over it being a movie.
I think metro would be an obvious choice and it has a lot of material to work with
Mass Effect and Legacy of Kain need to be adapted as tv series.
U can make chief quiet and would work, i mean look at vader or mando in sw they are quiet
After hearing him say that that all of the characters in rdr2 are sympathetic i would like to adress that micha exists.
Dead Space needs a movie ASAP
In terms of Halo, I think Master Chief isn’t that hard to adapt, his characterization is pretty good in recent games and besides you have a whole lot of books to take inspiration from. You can just adapt The Fall of Reach or The Flood. Aside from that I think an ODST series would be even cooler since you could show a different side of the war, a grittier, more brutal side, like imagine a fucking ODST facing the flood or even just a marine.
An Wolfenstein series headed by the RRR Director will be a dream ❤ but unlikely...
John Carpenter told that he has interest for adaptation of Dead Space. Hope it'll become true.
The Wolf Among Us
Mass Effect needs to be here too.
idk how they keep messing up resident evil films but i think putting them into a show format for HBO could work and be rlly cool
The V/H/S people would be good for Dead Space and Resident Evil
I really would like to see an Uncharted movie. It’s already cinematic AF and it’s really interesting how they haven’t tried to make a movie yet.
there already is one
@@heng15852 Nope. Pretty sure it doesn’t exist
@@Carlo_ReNews www.imdb.com/title/tt1464335/
The legend of zelda botw should get adaptation.
Story of a guy who wakes up withlost memory and all he know is he has to go and kill god of all evil that allmost killed him once.
Deus Ex series. Start with a series about Human Revolution
Detroit Become Human and Cyberpunk would be amazing tv shows
Eternal Darkness should get the TV adaptation treatment.
I'd like to see Capcom make an *actual* live action Monster Hunter.
Gears of wars's world is 'inspired '..ahumm from the Warhammer 40k universe.
Doom could work if they let Vega carry dialog
I can totally see Alan Ritchson playing BJ Blazkowicz
I think Destiny would make for a great animated series. The game is so rich with lore and a lot of it remains off-screen.
Imagine an adaptation of the books of sorrow.
Horizon Zero Dawn would be an EPIC show.
Don't you feel like Mandalorian felt very much like Chief in a way? Doesn't speak or emote much, always wears helmet, so on.
Just wait for them to cast the rock as kratos
Elden Ring series GOT style...Main character Malenia & her bro. GRRM have to be involved..
I would enjoy a red dead redemption series, a decent Desmond miles AC series. I think the awful AC film might have ruined that though. Don't think GTA would work as a series. Only started playing god of war this year so I was very late to the band wagon but I think it would absolutely make a great series. So much lore to work with. For me they're the main games I play or go back to can't really comment on others but I would still watch them. Skyrim has huge lore but I don't think it would work as an adaption as you're character despite always being the hero is also always silent.
I agree that Wolfenstein would be an amazing movie adaptation and also I would argue that it has a REALLY strong emotional story and I would argue its an S tier story with a brilliant deconstruction of fascism and how truly evil and corrupting it is so I think that I dont care about the action being adapted and judt want to see the story adopted
I really want Detroit become human or at least a red dead redemption tv series
Vampire the masquerade would be good
Red Faction
Resident evil 4 would have to be a mini series over a movie. Way to much plot to fit into a movie
I think skyrim would also be a great one
Mass effect and rdr2 for me
Mass Effect
I’ve kinda reached a stage where I no longer want game to screen adaptations. No matter how faithful to the source material, it is rarely ever as good as the original. The last of us is a great example. Very faithful adaptation but still just a cheaper imitation of the original intended at placating a larger, less critical audience. I think the way to go with adaptations from now on is just to tell stories set in the same universe as the original story. I love Halo but I don’t want them to ruin reach for me. Instead tell an original story that doesn’t mess up the timeline or retcon any characters. Show me a new team of Spartan 3’s. Same goes for bioshock. Tell the story of some other character down in rapture as the whole society collapsed. Idk. I’m just bored with stagnating reboots and repetitions.
Dragon Age
Resident Evil is a show on Netflix that's non-existent to me and makes Halo on Paramount Plus look like a love letter in comparison.
No Fallout love?!
You forgot Mass Effect. I just know Amazon will fuck it up.
Halo ISN'T hard to adapt, imo. Just adapt the books, not the games. John gets a little more characterization, though I don't think it's that needed... he's not "just a vessel for the player" but rather a stoic badass who we're supposed to kind of wonder if he's more machine than man at this point, given all the augmentations. And more legend than real, given his career. I really think it wouldn't be that hard for a lot of competent writers to pull off, but probably especially anyone who has actually done an interesting Superman story, doubly especially if it's one of the few where they did that without de-powering him. I mean, they'd have a much easier time with John, anyway... since he IS more or less just a somewhat enhanced human. More like Captain America or honestly even Spider-Man's typical power-level. (Certainly not Spidey's true power, although John could also theoretically punch someone's head clean off their body, like when Doc Ock in Peter's body first realizes how much Peter always holds back lmao)
But really, just like the themes and stuff. A good Superman writer should be able to almost breeze through writing John's parts in Halo, imo. Or get someone like Karen Traviss who did the excellent Star Wars Republic/Imperial Commando series. I think they tend to write military type stuff and at lest small ensemble "cast" stories quite well.
But also, with adapting the books, we kinda get more "second-hand" characterization of John, especially through Sam & Blue Team (Linda and Kelly, mainly), and also the early bit where Halsey goes to John personally, tears him with the coin flip, and gives HIM the CHOICE to VOLUNTEER for the Spartan Program. Of course, she didn't really explain he was making that choice for all 300 kids... but she DID explain the basics of how it was dangerous and how he could be a hero, and let a 6 year old John make that CHOICE. Between that and Cortana CHOOSING him? C'mon. It practically writes itself.
Adapt the Halo books.
What about metal gear solid?
recently rewatched the last of us and i gotta say.. besides episode 1-3 the show bored me so much i had to turn it off. in retrospective i have no idea how it got so much praise.
How could you NOT put Mass Effect on here! The lore of the game is outstanding and so intersting. And there's so many compelling characters that join you, you could have their individual stories before they meet up with Sherpard ahhhh!!!
Also there is a Dead Space film. It's not bad
The Witcher would make a great TV show....
Last of us lacks the zombies, that why I don't really wanna watch again.
Resident Evil ? LOL, Movies and show can't get it right LMAO
God of war a movie yes, not show
Overwatch animated movie or even show yes.
God of war is already a movie so I think it would work
