Hello from Live Life DIY. Awesome video! Thank you for asking me and Bonnie to be part of it.
Welcome!! And thank you for the awesome segment.
So glad you finally highlighted the Ausi! they are Amazing dogs even off the farm :)
You should add the Collies & English Shepards onto this list. Most specifically the Scotch Collies, they are absolutely the best farm dogs out there.
I've been looking hard into scotch collies lately! Looks like a perfect breed
I can recommend "Swedish Lapphund"
Swedish dog breed used originally by the native "sami" People in up north Sweden,
They used it to herd their reindeer , and as a watchdog but also as a hunting dog.
It is still used for hunting moose and wild hogs in Scandinavia, but still it is mostly used for herding or as a watchdog. Great family dog aswell, loves Children and very loving and happy breed
Wonderful dogs, wonderful video, even for those of us who don't live on a farm!
My dachshund would kill possums in my backyard until they got the hint to stay away. My border collie mix used to herd the yard cars back onto the property if he thought they were going too far from home.
Mary Ellen Cook ❤❤❤
Yard cars?
@@looloo4029 LOL 😆 cats 🐈 😻 🐈⬛️
I thought you were being funny about the "yard cars" because they do try to herd cars. lol. But did you mean cats?
@@amberemma6136 yes. Cats.

Blue healers are some good dogs and some are very smart animals.
Bonnie agrees. 😁
YOU SAID IT
Here in Australia, you'll rarely find a farm without one!
The litter of puppies that is shown during the Australian Shepherd section is actually a litter of Australian Cattledogs. Quite a different breed! Too bad you didn’t show a litter of Australian Shepherds, they are very cute.
I don't have a farm but this is a COOL video!
Meow
You forgot the classic American farm dog, the rat terrier. My brat terrier, Aednat, wanted to let you know. 😁
Paul Herman ❤❤❤
Unfortunately these videos never take in consideration the rough/smooth collie, for instance they would do great in a small farm.
They are amazing with kids and they get along well with other animals
Yesss,Collies are great for this job!
That's a good suggestion! Can collies guard the property of a small 10 acres hobby farm from strangers?
I have a Catahoula and he does his job on the farm very well
La Kevo ❤❤❤
Good info
Mini Pinschers ! They were bred to catch rodents. They'll go right down the hole.
Mine helped me around the farm.
Also, they are fearless watch dogs.
💜
I love border collies but you better keep them busy and run them most of the day.
What breed is on your farm? What do you think is the best farm dog?
Catahoula
Great Pyrenees
HEELER
idk 🤷♀️
Boarder collie for a real working ranch
I have 2 Aussies. 1 Named Rose and the other named Spottie. Spottie is 5 years old, Rosie is 4 and a half years old. Spottie and Rosie jump around, biting and chasing each other. Rosie is a toy and Spottie is a mini. We also have a lot of squirrels in our backyard. Spottie and Rosie Chase and sometimes kill the squirrels. We used to have raccoons Witch was a much tougher fight. But Spottie, not usually Rosie will go down with a fight. Most of the time they will back off. Just giving some information on Aussie!
I got 3 Mountain Curs, and I couldn't get better farm dogs they are there game, nothing gets past them
My older dog is a red and blue healer mix was amazing at herding chickens but with her old age she's gotten lazy but still enjoys being around the chickens
Jack Russells tear into chickens and ducks though.
I'd argue that Burnese Mtn Dogs are acceptable for the list too.
Iv had terrible luck with my pyranees they kill chickens any advice
My farm has a lab and a miniature schnauzer. My lab makes sure all frisbees and tennis balls are corralled. My mini schnauzer keeps rabbits out of the garden and chases down all the small rodents. She lets us know if something is dead in the yard by rolling in it. Lol
😂😅😂
Kangal, Alabai, Coucation Shepherd, Tebitan Mastif, The Best Farm Guards 💯👌
Animal facts, Would you Please do all About Kibble dog food, please
To your answer... Queensland Blue Heelers.
Good job Terry Jackson! 🥇
Thank you, unfortunately Terrri passed away over a year ago. She is missed terribly by many.
# 4 is wonderful with goats we had one name B.J a loving dog
I totally plan on getting goats soon. I kinda wonder how my German Shepherd will take to them.
@@AnimalFacts should be fine but i would do it slowly my ex brother in law german shepherd kill our last 4 out of the blew how old is your dog if hes young you can just put him out there with them they are real good dogs dont know what came over my ex brother in laws dog i loved him
we had a great peraneass my daddy had to get rid of him he couldnt take care of him anymore truned out daddy had brain cancer died 2 year in 4 more days
The video of the puppies under the Aussie section look like Australian Cattle dog puppies rather than Aussie puppies.
I have #2 her name is remy she is awsome
That’s why I am smart and I love Shiba Inu because when I was 6 years old I drink Border collie milk with her puppies
My dream is to have a good amount of land my dream box garden layout i love kids horses and a Gard dog for outside and hunting woods small farm lots of chickens someone else takes gets the eggs last time i did get eggs when we had chickens i almost touched a snake im deathly afraid of them i dropped a few eggs and ran out told my dad im never getting the eggs ever again he asked why i said snake go get the rest of them eggs
I would of put collies and boxers in the list too.
Definitely solid choices.
Goldens are good sporting breeds that make good pets. But not true farm hands. Not unless you consider playing with kids to be a farm chore. The Black Mouthed Cur was used on the farm back in the day. Although Golden Retrievers are very pretty dogs. At least to my eye they are.
Jack Russels are fearless and good dogs.... BUT beware, chicken killers
Where is the American bulldog? They were the backbone farm dog before the industrial revolution.
first!
You're quick :-)
@@AnimalFacts thanks i will never miss you vids for the world:)
bro where the kelpies they the best dogs
Because, Wolfs Eat The Dinner Of Little Dogs. 1, Wolf Enough For Dog Pack
German Shepherd is one of the least healthy breeds out there , mentally and physically. A few good line have not been ruined. Aussie's also, prone to superstitious behaviors, incessant barking and even their name is fake, get a cattle dog or a kelpie if you want a real AUS dog.
Really? Then, why is it that German Shaperd's are used in the police force???
Not much anymore, for the very reason mentioned. Mostly use Belgian malinois now.
To many commercials!!!!
I'll have to see if I can do anything about that.
goldens is not good farm dogs
Really? I’ve grew up on a farm and we had six Golden’s in my life. The first was “trained,” by a mutt shepherd, and she went on to pass that info down until we got rid of both the sheep and the cows. I’ll admit the last two were just used for hunting but still, best all around dog!
Since I’ve had several mutts, a pit, GSD, two labs, and a Mal.
I’ve never had a bad dog, but Goldies always have my heart, the Mal and GSD were perhaps a little better at complex work but no where near the pleasant temperament.
