  • The Eclipse D16 delivers the best price-to-performance ratio of any bike in the Tern lineup. Designed with full-sized 26” wheels, hydraulic disc brakes, and a massively stiff hydroformed Eclipse frame, they somehow, managed to get it all in there at an amazing price.

This bike is perfect, especially for the price. I have a Tern Link D8 and a Montegue SwissBike and I think it's the best of both worlds. I like my Montague, but sometimes when I've had to squeeze into the trains in New York, it's not a nice of a fold as my Tern.

Great video as usual. Informative but not boring. Love my tern node d8 here in Los Angeles but thinking of maybe getting the eclipse d16 now.

Brandon, thank you for your comment!
The Node D8 or D16 is consider best of the both world (compact), yet larger wheel. I believe the Eclipse D16 is best for larger wheel folding bike in the 26" class compare to all other 26" folding bikes.

Hi there, I really like your videos specially the ones related to folding bikes. I need help to decide, I’m a cyclist and recently my bicycle got stolen from my car bicycle rack. I decided that my next bicycle will be a foldable bike. There’s 4 bicycle that I am really interested to get. I’m looking for speed (I don’t mind the size of the bike because either of these can fit in my car) 1. Tern x30 2. Tern X18 3.Tern X30 4.Montague Fit with carbon wheels.
Which of these bikes can be fast enough to convince a cyclist. I’m very interested to know your opinion specially on the Tern bikes that I mention before. Please can you help me to decide? Thanks

is the Eclipse Frame basically a larger version of the Verge Frame. Like the Link compared with the Node?

Yes, you can said that. And there are a lot more 20" folding bike competition. But there only few 26" folding bike in this space. So, this is somewhat unique in its own right.

tern and.dahon are the same....kind of....was like the father started the company dahon and some members of the family wanted sell to USA and the world and expand but the father was opposed so some of the family member.. I think.was the wife and kids and some managers。....took the know how and started tern....which is a improved dahon .....in the end after the law suit , they paid some money to dahon and everything was settle...
dahon hired some engineers and designers and some of the bikes are better then tern ..some are inferior...
dahon focus more on.asian.market....they have many small wheel folder like dahon d3 and dove which dont sell in USA.。..while tern make.some.bigger wheels for anerican market..
does.anyone who this guys is?I think he is one of the relatives of the original dahon family that decided to part and join the family.members who wanted tern.....it has to be, cause he knows a lot of the bike but he doesnt look like a rider or a review..
His English has such heavy accent ...not good for a good review but he knows a lot..so i think he is one of the share holders of tern
