    The B-1A was initially developed in the 1970s as a replacement for the B-52 Stratofortress.
    The B-1B Lancer is an improved variant initiated in 1981 with major changes included and additional structure to increase payload by 74,000 pounds and an improved radar.
    Nicknamed “The Bone,” the B-1B Lancer is a long-range, multi-mission, supersonic conventional bomber, which has served the U.S. Air Force since 1985
    It is one of three strategic bombers serving in the United States Air Force fleet along with the B-2 Spirit and the B-52 Stratofortress
