Also, the Vietnamese people hold no animosity towards Americans, they have a "let bygones be bygones" mentality and are extremely welcoming to foreigners.
Why would they hold any animosity towards Americans? America lost
@@tommarsdon5644 because they killed a lot of good Vietnamese for no reason but their fear of an ideology by which this country is currently thriving with
@@divanbuys1484 but then why don't they? Haha, see, I tricked you!
War crimes. Such as killing civilians without declaring war.
Our education don't have the victim mentality like China, we have what I call: Get reckt noob, but want to grab some pizzas?
Congrats, you have summed up our history and culture in less time than a single history lesson in my class. Of course there are still bits and pieces here that the video can't cover, but i'd say you have done your research throughly. Bravo!! :)
Agreed I got a quick review of our history by watching this:))
Oh the memories. Since I'm living in another country now. This make me realized that my country is pretty f*cking cool

13:46 Bonus unrelated fact. Đông kinh(Eastern capital) , which also known as Tonkin was literally Tokyo (Japan capital) in Jappanese and both is a reference from China capital. For example, Beijing and Nanjing mean Northern Capital and Southern Capital. That means Hanoi has been called "Tokyo" for decades until the defeat of French.
I have a sudden urge to travel to Vietnam. I knew very little about it until now. Thanks Sam
You could probably do '101 facts on the Vietnam War'
Born and raised in Vietnam, I'm quite surprised and impressed by how thoroughly you did your research. Very insightful, accurate and of course, with excellent humor.
But dude some of your pronunciations were confusing, like those of Hue and Nguyen. :D
He pronounced it Hue, the word.
@@igorvadim3022 yeah and it was wrong
What part of Vietnam where you raised in? I have future plans to go there some time
@@imhuner you should. I was born in Hanoi but was lucky enough to travel already to 70% of the country. And I'm telling you, I recommend everythingggggggg. Ofc your experience will depend on your interests and personality, but in general nothing to complain. I'm trying to be as objective as possible and can't say any less than this

🇻🇳 Up Over Lyrics:
Travelling in a fried-out Bus
On a travel trail, head full of flu zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said
"Do you come from a land up over?
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover"
Buying fries from a man in Jakarta
He was six-foot, four and full of muscle
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a Salami pizza
And he said
"I come from a land up over
Where cola does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover, yeah"
Lying in a den in Bangkok
With a slack jaw, and not much to say
I said to the man, "Are you trying to tempt me?
Because I come from the land of plenty"
And he said
"Do you come from a land up over? (Oh yeah yeah)
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder, ah?
You better run, you better take cover"
'Cause we are livin' in a land up over
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover"
Livin' in a land up over
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder, ooh, yeah?
You better run, you better take cover"
We are livin' in a land up over
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder, ooh, yeah?
You better run, you better take cover
Livin' in a land up over, livin' in a land up over
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
