- I love this dot art.. I painted "my happy place" on a rock, a Santorini stone and decorated it with mandalas and more dot art. I had so much fun just being silly and doodle dotting! I hope you give this one a try because everyone has a happy place and this would be a fun gift to get wouldn't it?

I must say that my happy place is also at my painting table. When I'm not at my work table, my other favorite place is walking outside, near the beach and looking for more rocks to paint, or distributing the painted rocks for other walkers to find.

Love this piece and I especially like how you layered the design!! My happy place is in our succulent gardens. They are now filled with dotted rocks and the trees are getting filled with dotted CD sun catchers. Love combining happy places!!❤❤❤

This is amazing!!! And not to mention beautiful. My happy place is my plot in my community garden. Since ive been widowed and on my own, I love to spend time there and get my hands dirty and just relax. I am going to definitely try this one. I dont have santorini stones but I will find a stone and paint it white. Again you have inspired me ❤❤❤

BEAUTIFUL ❤❤. I love how this stone allows you to show off darker colors for base dots! You created so many different designs with a variety of colors that it floors me you completed it in 3 hours….it definitely would have taken me a lot longer 😅. Your design instantly inspired me to do another dragonfly rock. It’s been quite a while since I did one. Now I just have to find where the time to do it will come from. Lol. Thank you ♥️ You totally got it… when I began I thought to myself this will be an opportunity to play with those dark colors that blend into my typical black background. Then after I let the first round of these dots dry. I discovered that they look black even without a black background. L O L! So then I started grabbing for a little bit lighter colors. Lol but it really was fun to use that eggplant and navy blue and things like that I rarely get to use them, I’m so glad you noticed. I hope you have a great week.

This absolutely gorgeous. I have an issue. I am trying to do a school stone for my grand daughter. She is going into the 3rd grade in August. I have already gotten one of the schools colors perfect. The other color is white. I think it is a #3 stone. I am wanting to put her name on it in white with the year "2023 " on it as well. Can you give me some tips on how to center and write on this stone. My handwriting is horrible. Her name is Jordyn. I would love you help on this. I have tried and tried on regulate paper and it is horrible. You are definitely my go to on things like this. I have shared your work so many times.
Have you tried a stencil? I know that sounds crazy. But… did you see the black happy place I showed? I found a stencil at Walmart…. I used my pencil to trace it on the board in a fine line. Then I used those tiny lines as a guide. So now you see this stone I used no stencil. Sometimes you just need to practice first. Maybe take the 3” stone and trace it out on paper and practice. If you have a 3” brainstorm you can use the guidelines to get it on the stone right too. If you are going to write in white I totally recommend a Pearl or metallic. Most whites don’t cover on first stroke and/or can be a bit junky. When trying to center a word I count the letters and begin with the middle letter. So to center 2023 I’d put 23 to the right of center and then 20 on the left. Same with Jordyn.. start with dyn. You can do an image search for fonts and there’s lots of videos. I love the font on this rock.. I know I changed a little from the stencil but I think this will be my new writing style for awhile.
Oh… if you are trying to write super tiny I do that with my awl. I did a video showing that once I think… let me run see…

Your note about mixing flow aide with water before mixing with acrylic paint??... is this only for that particular "Flow Aid".... or any type of flow/fluid helper! I'm thinking of the Slow-Dri. Wondering if adding water would negate the ability of the slow-dri.
On the slow dry it says you can thin but it doesn’t insist. On the flow aid it insists but I see lots of folk using it straight too. I’m just following the directions.
