With this build the mech's F2 is also an area stun break, condi cleanse, stab, and aegis. very handy when both you and your mech are in melee with the target or in teamfights.
good point i forgot to mention, and also you must be on top of the mech to receive that effect

Welcome to the future. If you want to counter this spec, avoid 1v1s with it and then spam CC when you are in group fights against it
So as another duelist you just leave as soon as they show up?
@@gewreid5946 just kite during the superconductive signet and try to cc them, if your build is low damage or low sustain you should probably leave yes

I tend to play core ranger duelist mostly, sometimes signet mesmer.
I tried this out in a few games and literally 1v3’d some people XD granted they might’ve been bad but damn the damage and Survivability is nuts! Well done Vallun

this is true, all the CC makes me feel more like turret engi than anything else I've played since it was nerfed back in 2015-ish

Around 9:11 you can use your FT #5 even while stunned in situations like these to blind nearby enemies

Nice match with commentary:). Your videos are great. I have a question off-topic. How do you stay in platinum? I am not a pro. But I love PVP. I played wow for around 10 years. Only arena. But with people I know. Here are randoms. People in gold sometimes don't know which door they need to take or sometimes 2-3 people go on the home node and etc (people in silver and gold should know at least map or basic pvp) and biggest problem of all sometimes 2-3 same classes in the same team. Is there some secret or do you need just to play and farm it? I have no clue. BTW right now I play for fun and farming legendary set. I gave up on random people.
giving up on random people and caring about being in platinum is a clash, just keep farming in gold unless you really care. Then you need to start analyzing your team and the enemy team and rotating of of them by predicting how each situation will go

I see you are not using the Conductive Alloys master trait. Do you find the damage from Mech Arms : Single Edge Cutters without 100% shared condi stats, to be better than the benefits from using Mech Arms Impact Drivers? Though the F1 strike damage is lower and there is no bleed, I would imagine that weakness would be useful in a dueling build. Not to mention the mech constantly proccing might on you would constantly proc the heals>barrier>alac chain.
the mech does enough damage without being heavily statted, and the alacrity can be both offensive and defensive
Vallun can u make more good pvp beginner builds? It's really helpful. Similar to raid builds, it lets us noobs play conquest and at the very least not completely make things bad for our teammates.

if i ware to play pve with this build, what gear whould u go with in that case? or should i just keep to support healer in pve and have this build for pvp
depends what you're doing, if its group content i dont recommend, if its open world then just go for plaguedoctor or marshals
Do you think grenades or wrench kit would be ok to replace flamethrower?
Flamethrower knockback helps a lot with decapping/capping-- especially when paired with shield #4 and other cc, to make sure it lands.
One of the biggest obstacles of the mechanist that I've found so far is the dichotomy between the player character being the primary source of damage and the "companion" being the primary (or at least close competiing) source of damage. So much of the combat you showed was you kiting safely from a distance while the mech just wailed away after you pressed 2 - 3 buttons.
Even untamed isn't suffering from this too much despite the tail swipe being center stage right now.
Even in PvE it feels so difficult to find synergy with the new elite spec because the scope of core engineer's attack methods are either too slow and clucky to fit a ranged power build or are too reliant on the flamethrower and pistols to feel like you're playing a new elite spec and not the same old flamethrower condi scrapper build. Engineers were so used to having all of their damge centered around themselves and not the turrets or pulsing AoE that the mech just feels like an alien body that happens to be tagging along and isn't some integral part of the player experience as the mechanist.
i really like how they made one of the gm traits synergize with explosive traits, wish theyd have done it with more of the specs, i guess alchemy and inventions works well with shift signet and alacrity, but firearms and tools could have been way cooler, especially tools could have allowed more active use of the mech abilities but it doesnt even reduce their cds as far as i know

Man I spent so long trying to theory craft power and condi builds for the mechanist but I felt so stuck when it came to trait lines. Either the mech received 0 benefit while my character got super buffed (faling into scrapper and holo tendancies), or the mech was so prioritzed that my character felt under-powered and I was forced to use a tool-kit or engineering kit in order to try compensate for this.
@@Vallun I think the Tools line not reducing the cds is a bug. They mentioned in initial preview the cd reduction was intended. I’m very confused about the lack of runes and everyone behaving like this is acceptable. So much build craft comes from runes.
@@gmkoshy Ah, i was wondering if the runes where just more hidden than in the past. It's a shame there aren't any this time.
I was curious what the Virtuoso Runes would be, kinda hoping for something with precision and massive bleed duration to make grieving stats work for the class.
How do the mech breakbar changes affect this? Is it still good/easy?
it is still good and easy, it carried me to platinum today, lol. Honestly, I can barely tell the difference between breakbar/no breakbar, especially in 1v1s.

How do you play a duelist build when there's another duelist in your team?
split up or let the better team fighter go to mid, one who can support allies or deal good damage

@@Fiyaaaahh guild wars 2 pvp in general requires coordination, if you cant afford that youll just be low rated, the build is still the easiest

@@spacemilker9093 well anyway duelists are extremely good, yes you can effect more of the map by winning a team fight, but you also have less control over whether you win a team fight
Imma be honest this build is decent for duelist but for team plays its ass. Good for new players like you said but trash for high ranks.

watching this video doesn't give me the impression that it is that easy. it seems like you need to pick your battles and have map awareness.
i'm looking for an easy build to play because i need to win ranked matches on 2 classes i don't play for the legendary backpack.
there's a minion master necro build that's truly easy to play, because you just spam all your skills off cooldown and enter shroud when pressured (i don't remember what the skills do, i just spam them all). i'm in gold 3 / plat 1 and have a decent win rate with this
"Easy" to me means that all you have to do is run towards a node, spam your skills, and either do ridiculous damage/conditions or have some op way to run away. No need to use terrain, have game knowledge, map awareness, or understanding what your skills do.
do you think there's another build that's non necro and non ranger (my main class) that fits this criteria?
maybe you didnt understand, this match was almost impossible to win, and with minimal effort and knowledge i turned it around, now imagine a player uses it with less effort but in more fair matchmaking
@@Vallun i think you might have forgotten what it feels like to actually be bad at pvp. the biggest problem is tunnel visioning. you see an enemy and you chase them and they bait you to fight off node. or you forget to check the map and you get +1'd.
sure, this might be the easiest build to CARRY with, but "easiest build to carry" is very different from "easiest build in pvp". The "easiest build" would be more like the E-girl guardian video you made, the Boomer flamethrower, or the MM necro.
@@asatsuki9250 i clarified its the easiest effective build, there are easier but then you get into arguments of more overpowered builds are easier because they require less to succeed. It's an easy build why don't you trust me
