I've owned an Air 2S and now have a Mavic 3. The Air 2S D-Log is very good, but it is inferior to the Mavic 3's, which is flatter and doesn't have automatic noise reduction like the Air 2S. I'm not as experienced as many of the CZcams reviewers, so I'm sure there are subtleties with both drone's D-Log that I've still to learn. But you get what you pay for with both drones and the Mavic 3 is definitely superior.
The air 2s is one of those drones that one definitely gets to love the image out of it, definitely to this day it has one of the best image per dollar quality out there. The mavic 3 does surpass it in terms of resolution and sensor size but you hit a very solid point it does need to have noise reduction in post at least in night time footage, the “neat video” plugin does work wonders it comes highly recommended for night footage!
For the price of the mavic 3 fly more combo I can buy a air 2s with fly more combo and autel evo lite plus premium bundle that have better nights footage than the mavic 3
I've seen a side by side comparison of both the Mavic 3 and the Autel drone. While the Autel does appear to be better at night footage, there is auto processing and tidy up of the image on the Autel. I don't know if that is going to make any difference to some people who seem to prefer to not have the software apply any corrections to the image, before they themselves get to work on it.
I like at how at 5:39 all the cars are driving backwards. :-) Good review.
