  • What Is Self Love? How to be Confident and Fall in love with yourself | Tips for Dark skin women 🤎
In this video, Kadijah and I share some advice that helped us become more self-assured as Black women with dark complexion. We concentrate on DarkSkin women because some of us have let society's negative perception of our complexion to keep us from achieving our full potential and shining. Nobody should ever experience that since we are all wonderfully crafted and ought to be at ease with who we are, regardless of the physical characteristics and kinship we inherited at birth. This advice enhanced the natural beauty and value we saw in ourselves as young women, and we hope they do the same for you.

Its hard when one is hated everywhere in the world including your own community.I dont know mixed girks do look very good so it hurts that its the truth

True but dark skins and brown skins look very good as well. Unfortunately, many people often succumb to the ubiquitous notion that mixed girls are considered the best looking, especially in the US. People need to be reminded that beauty is subjective and can be found in every culture and among all individuals.

Agreed. It has taken me years to accept my skin tone i am very dark and have endured years of criticism for it. I come from a culture (North Sudan) that emphasizes the beauty of light skin, particularly for women. Light skin, long hair and curvy is seen as the beauty standard but especially light skin because the two other qualities you can achieve more easily if you don’t have them. Dark skin men do get some hate but nowhere as close as to the girls. Dark skin women are treated like crap in my community. Anytime a high status and attractive male chooses a dark skin female as his wife aunties and older women talk so much crap and clown him for lowering his standards. I am a dark skin woman and was engaged in 2020 to a tan man, not light or dark just brown. His sister and father was light skin. When he told his mom about us, she said why is she so dark. Don’t you think you could do better?! His grandma called me ugly and told him his grandson is too successful to end up with a woman my skin tone and the kids would be ashy, dark and burnt up due to my bad genetics. I was so traumatized that I just left that relationship. Even when it comes to babies people here will make comments about the babies skin tone as soon as they come out the womb. They think that black kids are only cute if they’re light skin. It’s crazy because North Sudan is a black country in itself but they hate themselves. The grandma who had told me I was too crusty for her grandson was dark herself. Now I’m nearing 30 and really want to get married but no man nor his family will accept me for my skin tone. Life as a dark skin woman in Africa is a nightmare unless you have money or a green card to make up for your cursed skin.
