- I often have smaller set ups at home due to space, so I'm always messing with different configurations and different bits of gear. Here I'm using the audio input of the tribe to use it's efx for my FR777.
Here I'm simply connecting the Future retro 777 to my Electribe.
Electribe set to INT sync and 777 to EXT. Audio out from 777 to the Tribe Audio in, that's it :)
Can't believe the trick with pulling the jack out is the way. Insane. Love it.
Haha yeah it's an oldie but a goody, cheers :)
I've never thought if running the audio in on multiple channels to layer effects like that. Awesome tip, I'll be trying that.
Oh yeah! That’s why I love my Electribe, very versatile machine! And so underrated...
I agree, it shines as part of a set up, it doesn't have to be all about its flaws or its limitations, as a quick versatile sketch pad, drum machine, effects unit, how can you go wrong for the money?
oldschool prodigy poster on the wall ? -> SUBBED !
My heroes! I cried when I heard about Keith. Followed them on almost every tour. Thanks man.
I learned so much from this video. Thanks for opening up my ears. I loved it when you just got into the jam session. 😉
great jam! My electribe is set up as a table top fx board for guitar as well
It's a really versatile machine.
Wow! That's some neat FX treatment isn't it?
Pretty impressive little box that besides FX processing can do some hard kicking patterns, doesn't?
Yep it can pump out some noise, not particularly refined (although careful programming it can sound good) but good for its price range. I've got a new jam on the way. I'll probably record it tomorrow. Been a while.
@@ZafroSoundz sweet!!!! I recently got a second hand one and deff worth every penny! After watching your video I was thinking about using it as a drum machine and also pairing it with a microFreak and do some fxProcessing using the electribe2 ;) can't wait for your jam. Thanks for sharing.
Nice combo and thanks for the demo :)
I bought a 777 the day after christmas ~2004 on a last-second Ebay bid of $700, and unfortunately had to sell it a few years later. It has been my "most missed synth" for many years, even after acquiring a '71 2600 and JP-8 and a wall of modular I still miss the 777. While I can get 99% there by patching, there is really no substitute for a box that does it already.
Wow that was a steall at $700 mine was about $1200 from the states and I had to pay duty. I'll never part with it. I too have gear regrets, minimoog 1976 urggghhh, it was in disrepair so got it for like £600 I had it fixed and sold it for a good profit, went to Italy but now it's now worth 4 times the value!! It did pay for my studio though but I just want the synth it sounded amazing.
My dude
So I'm confused lol on the audio output left and right would you use a single stereo jack not a mono jack in the left audio out in to a mixer I'm talking hardware mixer because it says in the manual if you plug just in to the left audio out it turns it in to a stereo signal so I'm getting like a plug that straight into a mixer ? Sorry dude I'm still learning lol
L and R output are 2 mono outputs together they make stereo. If you use the L only with a mono lead it will be mono out put no stereo field, you won't be able to pan instruments in your patterns. In this video I'm mainly referring to the INPUT which is a small stereo jack. Use your out puts in stereo, one mono lead to one channel L and one to another R then hard pan them on your mixer corresponding to L or R, all the way Left and all the way R then you'll have stereo. Some mixers have dedicated channels that are stereo so no need to pan you just plug in L and R.
@@ZafroSoundz Oh I see right that makes sense now .am right in thinking you could use a stereo jack just from the left output nothing in the right as this would be a stereo signal coming out from the left as long as you don't plug anything in the right out put ? Because it says that in the manual
@@timgstar3585 No can't use a stereo jack to get stereo from one output unless the output is stereo, it's a mono output, the manual just says if you only use the L output then the internal sounds will be mixed down to mono. You can use a stereo jack on mono outputs, this is a called a tipped lead, and can be used to sort out grounding issues but really in this situation you should be using mono cables.
@@ZafroSoundz Got you thanks man really appreciate the help 🤘
can the e2 be used for simple standard effects like reverb and delay (for audio that comes in the audio in jack)? thanks. i watched some of the video but it seemed like it was mostly filtering etc
It's not really like a standard efx unit it's a groovebox. If you watched the video entirely you see you need an open gate to use the effects. Maybe try watching it ??
thanks. yeah that what it seemed like, i just wanted to confirm. the video is 21 minutes long and i dont have that long to answer a simple question like can u plug a device in and use the e2 reverb. i skipped around and it looked like it wasnt that simple. thanks for confirming. @@ZafroSoundz
Hello I dont know how but when I set all right to play bassline over pedal to korg esx2... Pedal works but nothing sound... If i reconect only Jack from bassline to korg it sounds did you know how this fix?
Unless you can articulate a little better I've no idea what your problem is. What pedal? What are you trying to do ? There's no pedal input on rhe es2 ??
@@ZafroSoundz sorry english isnt my home langue.... external guitar effect pedal using for better sound of bassline for example distortion type of pedal... From bassline to pedal than goes to esx2 in audio in slot but it didnt sound :/ and all is set right did you know if I must use only mono cables or mono reductions? or how it do it? if didnt know nevermind Still thanks.
