I’ve seen a truck camping hack that involves cutting a piece of plywood to fill the space of the dropped tailgate and then you can cut a hole in the plywood and slide in a small window unit. Even the smallest window A/C would make it nice and frosty
That’s the plan for my adventure wagon(2020 2500 HD L8T) . Gotta get a camper shell on it first.
Light and ultra light setups 4 pounds test to 6 pounds test with micro sensitive jigs is the key to get slap crappies, no flotation devices, and you will limit before getting hungry.
I cold smoke then finish cook on high heat. To cold smoke I made an adapter box for my Traeger, I take the smoke stack cover off, attach a piece of flex dryer duct and run it 10 feet to a metal box I got somewhere... no clue where anymore. Added some angle iron to put grates on and run the vent in the top edge and vent from the bottom.
And cold leftover fried fish for breakfast is food of the gods!

Recently I have tried to cook my breaded fish on the pellet grill. I just cooked it at 200 for a little bit to get some extra smoke in the fish and then finished at 400 for a few minutes. Honestly really good, not sure if it's the right way to do it or not but we like it the way they have turned out.
Do you ever cut the stomachs open to see what they are eating? It’s possible the lakes are seeing bug hatches, in which case you should toss nymphs on ultra light or even break out the fly rod

1cup of salt and 1 cup of sugar sit in the fridge for 40 minutes then rinse thoroughly then smoke

Gave the Dangle Darts a try recently. Gotta say they are a heck of a bait, unfortunately they do not hold up worth a damn. I averaged one crappie per bait. I hope it was just a bad batch because they definitely catch em’.

Hey LFG, I’ve got a AVX 1980 and the livewells can actually serve as a cooler as well, I always fill them with ice and turn the switch to recirc and leave it. I don’t like messing with that crappie slime in the cooler.

Just wondering, why do you use 1070kHz on both Clearvu and Sidevu? If you use 1070 alone on the Sideview and the second to highest option on Clearvu you get a much sharper image on Sidevu. Just thought of it since you had both set to 1070 :)
