  • I've had these pliers for a while, not sure where I got them from honestly, but rarely used them because they just plain didn't work. Since I was feeling ambitious and fixed another tool I had, I figured I'd fix this pair too!
Things you'll need for this are a replacement bolt with known size and pitch and nut (you can find using a thread checker like amzn.to/2QrqoEs or from a thread checker at a hardware store.), for the thread and pitch of the bolt and tool. Plus a cutting wheel, a file, sanding wheel, or grinder and something to attach the nut to the bolt, I used a welder, but you can use loctite or JB Weld.
Overall the fix is about a 2/10, hardest thing was welding the nut to the bolt and then grinding it down. They can get hot, so wear gloves, and welding headgear.
Cheap fix for a cheap tool, but hey it's not going to the scrap yard, yet.
