I stay at the Royal hotel Scarborough voted one of the worst hotels in Scarborough - I think for the price it's a steal! What do you think?
Parking always been a problem here but that entrance and public area is amazing. One of the Bronte sisters died here.
I think this certainly is an example of people paying 3 star prices and expecting 5 star accomadation and service. Hotel looks fine, a little tired in places but for the price does represent decent value.
Not tired looking at all my room is beautiful so very cheap during the winter but won’t be anywhere near as reasonably priced this summer,it’s not run down at all,just as posh as 1968 but no Rollers or Bentleys that’s all
I have visited this Hotel all my life it always was and always be one of the most comfortable and prestigious Hotels I have ever stayed at and can in its own right stand up against anywhere in the World,I welcome any response!
Never paid less than £42 anywhere in the UK. Looks amazeballs for Christmas. I hope the dinghy divers don't take over this one!!
It's an oxymoron to complain about the dingy divers and then display a Ukraine flag.

That kettle is quite clean,to say Scarborough is a hardwater area.

We've been to the Grand three or four times but never this one and quite impressive inside.
Its a nice hotel and the room was really clean and thats what you look for as ive been a housekeeper in a hotel I think the chambermaids have done well the only thing is the shaving mirror that something that should be replaced
Simon the area director has done a good job.
He and his hotel staff have done a great deal of fettelin to get it this good, well done all concerned keep up the work.
It may look grand downstairs but it's one of the worst hotels in Scarborough. It's also very noisy with revellers outside at weekend during festive season and most weekends in fact. Prefer the Clifton. The Grand is disgusting too.

Quite impressive stayed at grand pre refurb was awful. Think some of the decor like carpet (staircase) and parts of room was pre britannia hotels old English rose I think it was. Room looked nice, should try a none refurbished one haha. Love the videos.
I'd like to try the Edinburgh ex travelodge one. They've just took over a Premier Inn in Glasgow, I stayed there before it was took over and was a bit run down then.

if not its a ok by me that i have stayed in a heck of a lot worse than a room with a bit rust on the mirror it's well kept in my eyes
An instant BREACH OF HEALTH AND SAFETY LAWS there, with tape wrapped around a bathroom heated rail.
Stayed there many times, never had anything to complain about

We stayed here last summer and as much as the public areas are nice that's where it stopped.
I’ve stayed here……absolute bargain price for what you get….it’s ok….but AVOID the Grand hotel!!

Went other week food was only good bit , very tired hotel needs a refit top to bottom , would never visit again

Don't book it looks OK but the rooms are dusty
Stayed here 3 times 1st time couldn't fault it 2nd time okish 3 time never ever again food bland bedroom was obviously a converted store cupboard bathroom fittings filthy carpet threadbare and to top it off they moved everyone into the ballroom at short notice because of a wedding fayre Britannia hotels are disgusting the royal needs a complete overhaul with at least £5000000 spending on it

That's the thing with that awful Britannia chain...all for coat and no knickers.
The initial impression of their old properties is very traditionally opulent...
...then you scratch behind the surface to find indifferent, rude staff and crappy guestrooms, appalling prison-standard food - and no room service or telephone in rooms in 2022 is utterly unbelievably bad.
