This is brilliant, Hans, imo. Frankly, I thought at least the same of the solver of Benedettelli. Remarkable how you managed to still further simplify things, and to squeeze it out of a single retail set! Respect...
Yeah, that was my first reaction too. The algos for the cube are pretty well known. He'd just have to get a book on the topic and be all set. The mechanical side is what impresses me here. I've seen lego cube solvers before, but this is a unique way to go about it. Very nice!
Jesus....i know that its not overly hard to make something like this, the programing isnt THAT hard, but to have the effort and dedication and design the platform it operates with is amazing well done!
That's pretty cool. The software probably isn't complicated (there are probably algorithms everywhere), but getting reliable hardware and then condensing the software to the limitations of the hardware would be a fun task. Fun!
AWESOME!!! i did the math by timing the video and (if the times 2 part was correct) it solved the rubix cube in 2 MIN 25 SECONDS!!!! i dont know about anyone else, but i have never solved a rubix cube that fast. GOOD JOB!!
wow..awesome. and the processing is done entirely within the robotics brick? truly awesome. Love the scanning technique and how it doubles as a way to move pieces of the cube. nice job and thanks for sharing.
@RoboticSolutions - you're very generous - I think your "Cubestormer" is just amazing - a LEGO robot solving a Rubik's cube in under 11 seconds - phenominal!?!? :-)
I built it and everyone loves it :) My cube only needed white covered with white paper to distinguish from yellow, and green with black paper to distinguish from blue.
holly crap now that is crazy now you have to program one that can do the other cube that has 16 sides man I cant even do that in like 130 years let a lone in 4 minutes or so dam you have to be one smart person to even beable to program it and the lagrage used just for the midstorm stuff that is remarkable wow man I want to see more of what you do.
Awesome! I've wondered if a Rubik's Cube solver could be built with only the pieces in the NXT kit. This might be something I will have to try building.
The robot just scanned in the entire cube at the beginning, calculated the solving algorithm and executed it. This is real bro
That has got to be the most amazing and complicated thing I've ever seen made with lego mindstorms. Very well done!!!
0-0
no words can describe how awesome that was - besides the obvious fact that lego + rubik's cubes = EPIC WIN - top notch work

So, freaking, awesome.
The best part, is that it actually solves them faster than a lot of people who actually do know how to solve the cube.
I like the little noise it makes when it's calculating the moves.

I absolutely LOVE the simplicty of the turning mechanism in this design, I would patent that If I were you !!
The robot is so simple, it's amazing that it works.
Nice job of getting the solution algorithm worked out as robotic steps. Bravo!
the engineering behind that is magnificent!
Unbelievable. Very well executed, sir.
Great idea and really super built!
How did you program it like that? Jeez
Can't believe my eyes... Those sequence are amazing...
That is so cool good job dude.

OMFG that was amazing please post programming and instructions
This is truly amazing
incredible! really impressive! good job man!
A LEGO Mindstorms robot that can complete a rubik's cube in about 6 minutes!?! This thing is awesome!
Thats amazing! Well done :D
now that is what i call applied robotics....standing ovation to you sir
Holy Crud That Is Amazing!!!
Nice Job!
Absolutely Amazing! Wow
I cant believe what I just seen! that was amazing!
that may be the coolest thing i've ever seen... i'm making an autonomous cartographer right now, but i had to watch your video... well done
Awesome! Great Job!
Very Interesting. Nice work!
Amazing! That was incredible, and a great idea! Congratulations!
This video is really cool!
That's pretty cool!

Holy crap, pure genius right there.
wow. no other possible response. incredible.
awesome! congratulations!
amazing. great job
Wow. I'm speechless. The programming moust have been really hard. This is just amazing!!!!!!!
this is insane man
wow..awesome. and the processing is done entirely within the robotics brick? truly awesome. Love the scanning technique and how it doubles as a way to move pieces of the cube. nice job and thanks for sharing.
wow, that was amazing!!
That's amazing!
Wow, thats just amazing!
Kinda funny watching it fast-forwarded XD

Now I want mindstorm!
awesome man! really awesome

nice work. i love it.
This is awesome
incredible

Most impressive!
te quedo muy bien!!! te felicito!!
that is so sick
best and smartest rubik's cube nxt i ever seen
awesome! the most efficient use of resources and time
nice job
impressive :)
especially the programming!
this is my engineering project this year LOL.
soo tempted to look at the design.
Totally amazed!!
Excellent! Amazing!
awesome dude
Very good!
it's incredible
now.. THAT'S AWESOME
this about the coolest thing made of lego i`ve ever seen.
i'm in total awe
fantastic!
i could have solved it twice before it finished scanning, but thats beside the point. this is amazing!
Awesome! I've wondered if a Rubik's Cube solver could be built with only the pieces in the NXT kit. This might be something I will have to try building.
Fascinating.
that is sick
;D Making these in Industrial Tech! can't wait!
impressive
Brilliant!
This is awesome. I need to know how to do this.
very cool
that was awesome! I wonder if this is the one that was sent to den brown?
A Masterpiece!
A fantastic acheivement for the NXT. Totally unaided! Absolutely well done! Have you seen the ARM assisted 4x4x4 rubik cube solver ?Its incredible!
wow pretty awesome
i just saw your website so thanks for having to instructions so now i don"t have to waste 10 dollars buying a book to teach me
awesome!
That's dam impressive!
one of the coolest things i've ever seen... CD
I bow down to our Rubik Cube solving robot master!
amazing
Pretty Cool!!!
Awesome!
That is awesome
best lego creation ever
winstonthompson23 video
im gonna build this when i get my NXT set for christmas!
Amazing
This is pretty cool I'm going to be posting a 3D video of this in a couple days.
Amazing.
