- Dick Allen should be elected to the Hall of Fame on the size of his forearms alone 💪 ⚾️

Yes he should!!!
I just looked at his career statistics. He definitely should be in the HOF, no question.
Dick Allen had eight seasons where his OPS+ was over 150, he led the league in OPS+ twice, and his career OPS+ was 156.
Also remember- when he led the league in HR with 32 in 1974, he did so despite "retiring" well before the season started.
(EDIT- Before the season ended. Not "started." My apologies for the error)
Furthermore, his "attitude problem" that had been recorded has been way, way overblown. I have never read a teammate of his who ever said anything negative about his personality or how he treated others. He was actually very well respected and liked by his teammates and coaches.
I used to be on the fence with Allen. But no more. Not only would his election NOT dilute the Hall like many have, but his accomplishments would, I believe, make him a mid-tier HoFer, on the same level as a Koufax or a Mize or a Hack Wilson. He needs to be there.
It's just a shame that he is gone now and that he will not get to see it.
Could not agree more - and it really is a shame we can’t honor and celebrate these guys while they’re still on this earth.
Hack Wilson his time MLB 10,5 runs per game! MLB in 1964-1971 low scoring ERA only 7,5 runs per game
Absolutely
So glad I got to go to 3 or 4 games at old Sox Park in 72. If only Beltin' Bill and Bart Johnson stayed healthy ...
A great injustice that he is not in MLB Hall of Fame. Shame on all those with votes that has passed him by. Richie Allen played first baseman, third baseman and left fielder in his HOF (non-elected) career. He died on December 7, 2020 at the age of 78.
The sports writers didn't like him, that's why.
this is tough one. on his stats sheet he has a lot of bold black stats as the leader but only 7 all star teams and only 3 x 100 rbi seasons and no reason of his hitting drop off like injuries. to me not enough stats for the best player of all time a hall of fame career.
Harold Baines is in...
Baines in hof is a joke. Allen in HOF is a no brainer.
@@scoop1127 if Baines is the bar he for sure is.
True test of a HOF hitter. He comes to bat . You have to Go real bad . There's no Pause button. Do you stay or Go ?? Dick Allen = Tap Dance. Harold Baines = C-Ya. Steve Garvey also way better than HB especially in the clutch .
The all non HOF team... Allen @ 1st, Whitaker @ 2nd, and keep it going...
You leave the team in themiddleo😊
e srasons
Dick was traded to the Cardinals after the 1969 season. You lose credibility with mistakes like this.
Just didn’t mention it 👍⚾️
