If they kept you in the house, they sought to save money by offering those slaves to whom ever needed a warm bed at night (pretty much whores...and no check ups were done on"animals"...so if you caught syphilis...the end). Why would we continue to live by the rules of mofos who treated us like that? Black people never gained anything from that tragic humiliation, light or dark skinned. I know colorism exists... I’m a lighter skin black woman and I know that I receive preferential treatment unconsciously by black WOMEN because of it.. I’m certain women wouldn’t be as nice or try to get to know me as much as they do if my skin was darker.. it’s very sad but it’s reality.. darker skin women get treated differently than lighter skin women.. i don’t know why people are ignoring and being dismissive about it... but everyone wants and loves a dark skin man, it’s hypocrisy.

Rodney, you are correct the response dark skinned black men get is different than dark skinned black women. Dark skinned black men are seen as "tall, dark, & handsome". Whereas, dark skinned black women are seen as "masculine, aggressive, & undesirable". Damn near every if not all dark skinned people have experienced colorism amongst our own. Shit I know I have. That shit used to hurt like hell. To be made feel like you're less than all because you're darker...I used to cry all the time over that. The colorism was direct and indirect. I've been told I'm cute to be dark skinned. I've been called a monkey etc because of my features and skin tone. I was overlooked by guys because my best friend is light skinned. But OG & CeCe became true friends and OG wasn't going to let the other girls team up on her friend. I feel Evelyn took it to far and now have to try and save face.
