- Everything is bigger in Texas, and Big Lou's in San Antonio proves that even pizza applies to that sentiment.

So did pres take the pizza out of the trunk, walk back inside just to walk out for the intro?

@@doc-holliday- This is Murica, where everyone wants something for free. And Lou's knows that as soon as you drop it, you want another. "No liability. No loss. Lou's"
One cheap gimmick, everyone knows the rules.
$65 is not cheap
@@teamworkformyfrainds prob. Meant cheap gimmick in a sense that it's like a novelty item or cheap in quality. You buy it just cause it's probably biggest pizza in texas
THE FOOD THERE IS TOP QUALITY.IT'S A FULL RESTAURANT AND BAR.A GOOD NEIGHBORHOOD PLACE.IT'S BEEN OPEN FOR 20 YEARS SO THE FOOD REALLY IS GOOD.
JUDITH 4.8 out of 10
JUDITH you haven’t had new Haven or NYC pizza. Kinda like we have crap bbq here and Texas has great bbq

When your pizza box has a Irish clover on it you know it’s not gonna be good
Im irish and I know that to be true bub
aye
TRUE
Exactly! That was the first red flag. 😁
I'm really Irish and if its got a clover on it we ain't buying it because it's definitely a tourist trap and a waste of money
I like how I never get any ads at the beginning of the pizza review
michelle carter i was totally wondering why i was i got addicted to this quick! Soon to change im sure
Another reason why Premium is the shit. No Ads EVER!
I just did
Ironic I’m reading this comment while watching an ad.

As the wise Charles Barkley would say "they got some big ole woman in San Antonio. Victoria is a secret to them."
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
No kidding. No wonder obesity is rampant in the south wtf...
@@Heyitzj0sh It's literally only because we drive everywhere instead of walking because of distance. That's literally the only reason.
voodoochild346 Dude I’m from Boston and if we ate food that big we’d have to walk to New York after to not be obese. Pretty sure the driving has nothing to do with it. Lol
Anthony D not like we eat it everyday. Also this is way down in bean town
so.....what i've learned from thse videos is that extra extra large pizza is never that good. got it.
Benny Tudino's, Hoboken, NJ, got a decent score.
Unless it's pizza barn in Yonkers.
whenever its stupid big like that its always gonna be worse than most, its always a gimmick
Of course, the ingredients r the cheapest around to compensate the size
@@27MOJOKING Good point
This is really sad. I was stationed in San Antonio from about 2004-2009 and Big Lou's was easily regarded as mindblowlingly amazing pizza. But at the time the restaurant was inside of a little house (on the same lot) with a few extensions to add dining space. Back then the pizzas were 20" and they tasted so good my buddy and I would gladly make ourselves sick cramming the whole thing down. It seems that over the past decade they've had a massive drop in quality, while demolishing the charming little house in favor of what looks like an athletics supply store.
Hell yeah brother, may the south rise again
2 grey Suburbans in the parking lot, everybody was confused.
I actually used to be a cook there for a while the only thing worth ordering is cheese bread or cinnamon sticks. The pizza is just to greasy it was cool getting to make a 62 inch pizza tho
Liar... That pizza is good
most giant pizzas aren’t very good.
@@AltCTRLF8 THIS ONE REALLY WAS GOOD.
Cause as much as you worked there and I, a customer, knows you gotta get it with the pizza crumbs under the pizza.
@@3rdStreetent Can agree. I don't understand what's going on. Someone showed me this video and it's really sad to watch.
Gimmick pizza
I can make bed sheets with that cheesy dough.
Hehe
It is but their regular pizza is good
TRIED THIS RESTAURANT WHEN WE VISITED SAN ANTONIO.TURNS OUT IT'S NOT JUST PIZZA BUT AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT AND BAR.WE ALL LOVED THE FOOD.IT'S A VERY BUSY NEIGHBOR HOOD PLACE.

Dave’s girl legs everyone knows the rules
Gold
except these days girls have huge legs
They put it in your car so there not responsible for it if you drop it and want a new one ☝🏻
@Greg A that's the point. The workers won't drop it. Imagine a soccer mom trying to carry that huge pizza out to her car.
@Greg A My reading and comprehension is just fine, thanks. My point stands. If they let customers carry out those pizzas they'd constantly be dropped. Even if they didn't request a replacement, it would be a constant cleanup issue - not to mention possible legal liability if someone burnt themselves (which, given the litigious nature of Americans, is not as far fetched as it sounds). Having the employees carry them to the car removes many of these variables.
@@johnulcer I bet the $70 comes out of their pay if they do drop it.
Watching Dave push the doors open with the pizza is priceless 😂
Love that family walking by and the dad saying, “we just had a 42, we’re good” when Dave hadn’t even offered them any pizza.
Not what he meant. He said his pizza was a 42, meaning a lot smaller, and "we're good", as in "the 42 satisfied all of us, how can you eat all of that?".... Nuance is not your strong suit
@@stanleymasterson1135 Yea it also seemed like he was talking to the kids with him who were obviously intrigued. He just didnt want his kids to stop and stare and intrude the video i think

Gimmick pizza is usually trash pizza
I went here on vacation one time! Got the big pizza with my family. I can agree with his rating. It’s meant to be big not meant to taste good
Can't wait for him to let an "alright tommy" slip
Prez's utter silence at the 2:20 mark just realizing how big it really is LOL
I think Dave just says one bite everyone knows the rules as a filler when he doesn’t know what else to say

It seems like Big Lou's is more concerned about the gimmick of having the biggest pizza ever then actually making a good pizza.
most giant pizzas are like that.
This pizza would be ok to buy for stocking up the freezer. Just cut individual square pieces and it will probably last 6 months. It wouldn’t be great eating but decent weeknight dinners.
Actually, the 20” and smaller pizzas are quite good (especially if you like toppings heavy pizzas)
We got a real Columbo over here
Love the travelin' music at the end...Hahaha
“We get Splitsville” lmfaooo
I visited Big Lou's for the first time in 2009 and remember thinking it was one of the best pizzas I'd ever had. New York style crust with rich sauce and delicious cheese. We got a 20" to share and I was concerned that it wasn't big enough because we only had one chance to be there. In 2016 we had another opportunity to drive through San Antonio and we got another 20" to take home but this time we were really disappointed by the taste. It was bendy and oily, much like a Sam's Club pizza. We only ate a few slices and considered it a waste of money. What happened?
Under cooked, too much cheese
The wings are way better. Pizza is meh. Too greasy.
Ur eating pizza in texas made by non italians thats what happened
@@chicken4090 anywhere down south .
It looks lie a huge slice of a chucky, cheese pizza . Gross
I worked at a place that we had the same size pizza, but we had to stop serving it cause the new health inspector said because the pan couldn't be fully submersible in the triple sink ( mainly the sanitizer sink) that we couldn't do it any more... she was a Karen over a decade before people put a label on it... we showed her how we just rotate it and let it soak for the proper amount of time... still wasn't having it
Try Lameglio Pizza in Plano TX.They get water shipped from NY to make their pizza dough.Everything made from scratch. They also have a sign outside that anyone who is struggling can stop by for a free pizza they fed over 500,000 people free.
3:03 the mans out of breath already and hasent even started yet LOL
HOLY SHIT I called it as soon as he walked out with the box.... I was think it’s huge, not gonna be easy to eat, cooked unevenly, etc. I though “like.. what, 4.8?” And the he said it!
No sir we cant just hand you this pizza!! We'll have some scrawny 16 year old carry it out to your car by him self, much safer hands that way.
It’s so they aren’t liable to replace if you drop it
Meh.... it’s like I tell my kids.... if I break my own stuff, that’s one thing... but if they or someone else breaks my stuff, it’s a tougher pill to swallow. I’d rather have no one to blame but myself instead of resenting someone for making a mistake.
2:26 truck said "Is that Dave Portnoy?" Everybody knows the rules
2:28 everyone knows the guys to the right almost got in an accident.
Come to Lubbock, Texas and review One Guy from Italy.
I'm always suspicious about any food product that is gimmick first and food second.
I should get a free pizza every time you say 'One bite, everybody knows the rules'.
Love how I get a Pizza Hut add trying to watch a pizza review

One state that everything's bigger in, everyone remembers the Alamo.
This got the same rating as Little Caesar’s. That’s crazy.
Another minute or two with that pizza on the ground and he would have had a " Fire Ant Pizza ".
5:26 - Manager in the background calling in a hitman.
One bite everyone knows the rules.
You know what else is big in Texas? Waist lines and hat sizes.
He said connoisseur and preposterous in the same video haha !
*Fumbles and almost drops the pizza* Dave: what a catch
Always says "1 bite everybody knows the rules" and never takes just 1 bite hahaha 🤣
He makes the rules. Everybody knows it.
That's the joke. It's hilarious to me. My wife is just starting to get annoyed with me saying it
Pres said 36 inches.guy walk out with 3 children and says they just had a 42 inch. Gotta love The one uppers in Texas 😂
yeah doubt it if 36 is the biggest they did 42 inch was he just taking piss lol
Anyone else see that tacoma almost hit the truck backing out at 2:34
2:30 almost an accident to the right... haha
I’m pretty sure he was looking for a dumpster to toss that pizza in
I havent been to a real pizza place before. I mean ive been to dominoes and pizza hutt and all those places but i need to find a real pizza place to try. Watching all these makes me want some really good pizza. Im a crushed red pepper kind of guy too and if they give me packets of parmesan i use it too. Godfathers pizza isnt bad, i like cassanos, generations isnt bad, cant remember how marions was. I need to find a mom and pop type pizza shop
You gotta check out Bill's and sir pizzas fued here in North Carolina! That's one that goes way back!
Even the box is floppy! 😆
Drop it off at Heaven for Hope Downtown San Antonio Texas. It will be greatly appreciated.

Love that my hometown made it on your show! We definitely need to step up our taste and recipe but fair scoring. Felt like it could of been a higher score but that's my bias because of my hometown. Everything is bigger is Texas. Welcome back anytime.
that pizza is polite, it helped with the door
I could use that pizza box as a blanket
1:23 Raging Demon
I want to know how much of that went to waste 😂😂
Save your money .Little Caesars deep dish Pizza down the street.
Imagine this whole thing, just to take 1 bite hahaha
Pizza made in hot dry areas will always suck... yeast needs humidity.. pizza tastes like a tortilla with sauce and cheese
wait is that proven? It sounds true. The only good pizza city in California is San Francisco, which is cold and foggy all year. LA is hot and dry and the pizza is the worst I've had in a Big city.
I like how he always says, one bite, then takes 2 or 3. I would love to do what he does and just go around eating pizza from around the country. My favorite so far was the Lou Manotti's pizza.

Well you gotta take at lesst 2 or 3 bites in my opinion. You gotta get a normal bite and a crust bite which is what dave does. The crust can make or break a pizza imo

I live in San Antonio and I feel the same way about big lous but no one agrees with me 😜🤪
Hey brother just been meaning to let you know... that girl in your pic... I clapped her cheeks fairly recently during a trip to San Antonio 🤙🏾
Should have gone to Florios on Broadway! They are legit, they don't say Pizza they ask you what kinda Pie you want!
Established in 1980, this simple, family-owned pizzeria offers NYC-style pies plus subs & salads.
Better order like Seinfeld Soup Kitchen style they are serious about their pies. 🍕😋
Years ago I drove to San Antonio just to get that same big ass pizza.
Big Lou's circa 2010 was great. Their humongous pizzas have become a big gimmick now.
Being from San Antonio I am glad someone spoke the truth. Chris Madrid’s is trash also.
Preach.

Agreed chris madrids and big lous suck.
New Yorker living in San Antonio. I'm convinced you can NOT get a decent pizza in this damn city
Watching Dave eat pizza is like watching a bunch of 5-year-olds play soccer. You know the ball is being kicked off at mid-field, but after that the strategy goes out the window and it’s random until the final whistle.
cracked up pretty hard at...... SPLITS-VILLE lololol
I hope you'll come to DC and the surrounding suburbs. There are several pizzerias that make a decent NY pie.

Yea it’s below average, at best... and I don’t know the rules?!
