Really neat. I was noticing the downwind leg that begins about 58 minutes and the green spinnaker boat beside your boat. They seemed to pull away and I was thinking about why...? Did your after-race review include the slant of the spinnaker pole...? Versus your pole being more level...? Again, neat and thanks for sharing.
For what it's worth, I have not been involved in flying spinnaker for many years but have recently bought a club racer/cruiser. I was watching out of spirit trying to re-learn. I synchronized the TV and my phone playing together. Using the 360 on the phone to see what else was going on. So cool. Thanks.
How did you make this video so you can look around this is awesome I’ve never seen anything like it! Anyway great video and nice job in the race, I used to race dinghies as a kid but sadly that turned into a career as a tugboat engineer I guess they’re both on the water but I do miss this.
This is from the GoPro Max camera which allows for 360 video. Thanks we were happy with the racing, you should start racing again! I had quit myself and got back into it with a Laser in my later 20s. Its such a fun sport...
A few dodgy calls for water me thinks. Just watched it again 360 and have a different opinion. At the first windward mark it took me ages to work out where the boat crowding you on your port side came from. It looked like he was doing penalty turns in the 3boat zone and hadn’t completed it.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place! Here is what I have in my notes from this: ALWAYS GYBE SET (Or set gybe) TO LEEWARD NEVER WINDWARD. Lol let's you stay in control.
That finish was a ton of fun! Most the time we do the downwind finish 4 leg course, however we have finished upwind with a 5th leg plenty of times. They changed it up at worlds and had both.

It was under 20knots because we have the genoa up!
