so cool to see the J surfing ... it'd be nice to see speed (and timing at the start)

I'm wondering if the helm is looking for the jury rib every time he pumps the main or the sheeter fans the kite. They're always looking out for 'double-pumps'!

1 pump per wave, I would consider both the kite and main at the same time is one pump.

@@jamesofreedman I'm a sheeter on a J24. Just finished the Euros in Ireland. The jury rib was always behind us on the runs when it was wavy. They sanctioned a boat right beside us for a 'double pump'. So, I was always looking around 🙂

@@dylanrico If boats were being closely watched I would just forego the pump while they are around. I saw that a boat got penalized for having a camera onboard! That is ridiculous!

@@jamesofreedman Yes - Yachtzee. A guy we know from LEYC. Nice bloke. Someone asked if cameras were allowed and as the rules don't state that they are or aren't, they were deemed illegal and a notice was posted. We had two onboard but removed them minutes before the start. Yachtzee's penalisation was also for not having the outboard tied down.

@@dylanrico Oh yeah the outboard must be tied down. If they would have protested me for the camera, I would have protested for anyone having a wind indicator, cell phone, and a sponge. Might possibly state that ice isn't stated in the class rules either lol and then sit back and watch the show! You can either say this is ridiculous or follow the rules to the extreme which would mean everyone is disqualified...

How long is it taking you to process these videos now. Very cool to control the view with my phone

Around 22 to 32 hours lol. Takes alot longer however I love the ability to watch them and see the other boats in 360.

James. Hi. i am a j24 sailor from Cordoba, Argentina. I am surprised about de video 360 that you had recorded. could you said me what kind of camera are you using for these recordings? duration of battery? accesories that you use to record all de regatta without unterruptios? thenk to you for the data that you can provide to me.

Its a gopro max with external battery. Can last 15 hours or so. One race produces around 400gb worth of files so processing them can take awhile.

    This start wasn't ideal, no?
