From a USC fan, we did him so dirty and we have sucked the last few years for a reason
As I diehard SC fan, I agree. But I will say at the time, I wanted no part of Orgeron as a head coach at SC. I didn't think he was right for the job. I was 100% wrong.
But what do I know. I was pissed when SC hired Pete Carroll.

That's where you're wrong. I haven't always thought he was head coaching material, but he has ALWAYS been a world class recruiter. LSU is going to be loaded with talent the next 5 years.

Jeff Nabors buddy people are starting to not go to Alabama anymore due to it being like a factory. They really don’t care about u. That’s why people are going other places and y Alabama isn’t in a ny6 bowl
Let's not forget Ed Orgeron was the assistant coach and defensive line coach for those USC teams in the early 00's who also beat Oklahoma 55-19 in the National Championship.
I was a student back then and he's the only coach I met--he was a great, humble person. Our asshole egotistic dickhead AD, Pat Haden, didn't think Ed O. was country club-enough for him. Belly was too big, Cajun accent was unbecoming of a head coach, whatever other bull Haden was thinking.
Pat Haden and Lynn Swann have destroyed USC Football.
He also built all those great teams for Miami when Jimmy Johnson! This dude has been groomed by the best.
He learned how to be a great head coach while he was under pete carrol and he loved being at usc
The difference between coach o and and alot of other coaches is that he really wants this job, most do it for the money (jimbo Fisher) coach o truly wanted this. Geaux tigers!

And yes I know we had Nick Saban. However for Saban being a coach is a legacy, for coach O being LSU’s head coach was a dream.

I met Coach Orgeron when he coached at USC. Such a great guy with enthusiasm, spirit and grit. When he reaches his hand toward yours and grips it, you know your hand has been shaken. Pat Haden really screwed up not retaining Coach O. Ed, I wish you all the luck in the world. We miss you in LA but are happy with your successes in La. Fight On! Geaux Tigers!
Todd McCraven yes and he cared about all sports usc when there, a super man amongst others and honest. But they wanted the DRUNKBOY sark, they knew sark had this problem but the upper management at usc at that time was a lot like Adam schiff the drunk on the hill.

I don’t think USC at that time would give him what he needed as coach like LSU did. Either way, he’s a fantastic recruiter, but I’m not sure if he would’ve succeeded as much as USC Head Coach.
When he’s done with LSU, I would love to see him as USC’s Athletic Director.

BetaMalePodcast Bama offered Coach Orgeron a recruiting job, thank GOD he turned Bama down. Coach O is one of the top recruiters in the nation. USC did make a major mistake not making him Head Coach, he would have given his heart and soul to make USC number 1 in the Nation. After the players that he signed to USC graduated, USC went a while without going to a bowl game, the same thing happened at Ole Miss., Coach O is that good. We are blessed to have Coach Orgeron at LSU, he truly loves LSU, the coaching staff, the players, and the fans. What is really amazing is he is so open to learning and change that he has implemented numerous things into the football program that he wanted to do and credits Pete Carroll for a lot of his knowledge, hired one of USC’s retired coaches, hired a player he signed while at USC for a coaching job at LSU and even has implemented suggestions from some of the fans. Coach O has the biggest heart of any coach I have ever met.
@@TSHEFU It would've worked perfectly for SC. The players played for him. The recruits wanted him. Look at your assistant coaches now and look at who the assistants were at SC when he was an interim. Lots of the same people. God bless Coach O--I'm very happy for him.

I think a couple of weeks ago it was Rick Neuheisel on CBS who said "If it wasn't for the way he talks he would probably still be coaching at USC" - it will forever be a black mark on USC football history that they had this guy and let him go.

Man I’m a Bama fan but Coach O is awesome. He coaches with so much enthusiasm and energy. He truly loves his players. Since Bama didn’t make the playoffs I hope the TIGAHS can take that Trophy back to Louisiana.

Coach O got a raw deal at USC. He could have been the head coach there, but they passed on him. Luckily, LSU didn't. Now look where both programs are at right now. Enough said.

Amazing. As an LSU fan, I've seen coach grow from that Ole Miss coach to my tigers. Shows anyone that sometimes failure turns into greatness in time. Much respect for Coach O for beating Bama. Bama is the dog to beat year in and year out in the SEC, shows this man is real.

Sark was definitely an up and coming coach and there was no way for USC to know what was going to happen with him, however, Coach O was already showing he could win at SC. They really blew that one!

This is the best coach in college football. The worthiest of opponents. Still screaming War Eagle, though. Gus needs a little O in him.
I know this is negative, but I'm not trying to be because I LOVE Coach O for what he's done for my team! But for him getting all this praise, I wish I our defensive line would get more pressures and sacks, being that he is pretty much only known for his defensive line coaching (assuming that's still predominantly his job in terms of teaching/practicing), besides an excellent recruiter and father type figure to his guys.
I want my Ducks to win it this year, but if anybody else, it better be LSU and Coach O.
Ed has had to grow into the role as HC and let’s face it, he stunk at Ole Miss. But the guy has been a perfect fit for LSU. And I tell you what, don’t underestimate him. He might sound like a goof but he isn’t one.
