    First guest I hosted caused over $5k in damage. Dude put holes in my walls and tore doors off the hinges - all of this after a drunken night and fighting with his GF. They were not even there for 12 hours! Traveled all the way from another country to do that. So crazy.

    I have STRs and lived next to an STR. I get both sides and became an angry neighbor myself. The hosts did absolutely no vetting and didn't enforce any common courtesy. I wish the host would have built a fence so I didn't have to see these drunk half-naked dudes play bags all hours of the day. The owner host blocked me when I tried to reach out to her. This was a normal family neighborhood completely ruined by this party house. So I'm starting to change my Airbnb hosting to stay out of normal family neighborhoods

    The house next to mine turned into the local neighborhood trap house after the property owner died and the other brother took over.

    The neighbor played the friendly neighbor card and played coy about the true intent. We share a driveway and a year later we have a relationship that cannot be mended. I highly recommend starting off just being up front. I feel the host will now tell me just want I want to hear. Once again we share a driveway so we cannot just live our own lives. So it’s a very bad situation now. And I cannot keep his people off my private property and regularly impacted just trying to go to the road. He has made several moves for the property at the expensive of the neighbors. Would have been much better just to know from day one.

    How would you deal with reviews that is vindictive in nature but Airbnb won’t take it down because it doesn’t violate their review policy but there’s clear paper trail that the guest was very very demanding, difficult to please and even took property, damaged property, didn’t pay for some of the fees like pet fees and when asked she became highly offended and due to this she left a bad review.

    This is confusing on so many levels… he’s a RENTER and he runs a daycare out of the rental?! Has anyone asked the property owner if they know about the daycare biz? 🙂 Sounds like a good time to permit check for an operating daycare 😂

      Agree! Another option: have someone like your cleaner or handyman record him making derogatory, racist comments. Share it with his daycare clients. Those parents realize their mistake, pull their kids out of there, his business revenue tanks, and he can’t afford his rent.

    Thank you. New abb owners and a little afraid. Had a guest vomit all over our bed. Had to purchase a new upholstery cleaner to take the stain off. They must have had a wild night because they broke the bed frame. What do we do?😮
