    evox 8 seemed to me with more means between 2.5 and 5k but with a fuller bass. The J8 seemed more subtle and flat. I am wrong?

    • @SolidGroundStaging
      @SolidGroundStaging Před 6 lety

      The Evox 8 Highs seemed to have a more defined high frequency 10k and up and the bass was tighter. The J8 definitely sounded like it went lower as far as the sub.

    IMO- J8 definitely has more presence. I have followed these speakers and curious about them for quite some time now. I really like the mid-low to mid-highs that they put out which makes the vocals brilliant sounding. I am currently an EV speaker fanatic. I have all of their ETX line speakers. Thank you for doing this comparison! Super helpful! I’m a wedding DJ and I typically run two QSC 122s. Most events are between 120-200 people. Looking at picking up a pair of powered line array speakers before the upcoming wedding season. Which do you prefer…RCF Evox 8, RCF J8 or the EV Evolve 50? I bring up the EV Evolve 50 since I have several DJs that rave about them. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

      Evolve 50s don’t cut it. I’ve used my buddies and they’re loud, but not much bass, and they definitely hit their limit when you really want to push them a bit. RCF is much better the Evolve system

    I have the Evox 8 and a Jmix8 and have found the Evox 8 to be louder than the Jmix8 when used as a pair (ie: using the Jmix8 with the internal mixer disabled.). In this mode, If i set the evox8 volume to 75%, i find that i have to set the Jmix8 volume to more like 80-85% to get a nice centred sound. Otherwise, the evox 8 sounds dominant over the Jmix8. Nothing a bit of tweaking won't solve though. There's also a firmware upgrade out for the Jmix8 which I will perform tomorrow. This might solve this as well as sort out some issues with the evo app. Great speakers though. Great video too guys. Thanks.

    A few years ago I was in the market for a small, lightweight and powerful set up for a band. I tried the Evox 8 and 12. I eventually went with the 12 purely because of the better thump. And I haven't regretted the choice. But the 8 was a very very sweet sounding set up. The clarity on the top end was beautiful.
    I have considered doubling up on the Evox 12 for larger rooms, which isn't often but when it happens, I do feel like I could use with some extra. But I am told by many the Evox 12 isn't designed to ve used in tandem with a 2nd one (assuming a pair of them per side) unless you can space then out that is. Could you shed some light on that?

      @@sweettreeproductions2149 am bit confused about this. In RCF user manual it says we can use 4 j8 for bigger events (2 per side). So why do you say we cant use two j8s instead of one bigger 18 sub. Also if theres phase issues how people use line arrays to get more wattage. I believe doubling j8 per side also similar to adding more line arrayes. This is just my opinion and i am not an expert. Therefore your valuable advice will be much appriciated

I am on the fence between keeping my 705's and down-size my tops (maybe to 710's or 708's) or bite the bullet and trade it all in for the pair of evox's. I can see on your clip that the sub of the J8 is much closer in size to that of the 705 sub any so thanks for that observation. Any thoughts? Cheers, love from Liverpool, England!

      Justin Pokrywka-Realtor to our knowledge all of their PA Speakers are manufactured in Italy. I know a few of the in ceiling speakers are sourced to China but it is clearly written on them. Every speaker we own says made in Italy on the back. We have had very few failures thank goodness with RCF 7 cabinets out of over 4000. Those 7 cabinets were either advance replaced or repaired within a week or two.

    I have one, not happy with it or the sound, I was ringing frequencies with the 7 band EQ and a mic and I heard a pop, the audio switched off but the power stated on, I didn't get audio back for at least 60 seconds. Can't risk that happening at a gig. The sound is muffled at best and the APP mixer is very limited and not very user friendly constant switching between pages, 7 band eq is not nearly enough. My DB tech es503 sounds much better and costs less, check out my review of the db es503

    • @djsparkyy
      @djsparkyy Před 4 lety

      You could, but given all factors involved especially including what the tops would cost, it would make much more sense just to buy an evox 12.
      however if someone gave you a couple evox 12 tops, it's not going to hurt anything to see how it sounds. It certainly won't damage the amplifier.
      They are just not going to be matched to the internal crossover of the amp
