Thank you! I’mw planning to make a video update probobly be posted by july august.. (before and after). On winter only the boxwoods on the side is the only green. Nothing really to see. But thank you so much and appreciate all who think it turned beautiful 🥰
I’m so glad you didn’t give up! I remember last spring I started my garden from scratch with a clean slate. Our home never had any landscaping, just sod. I was halfway through the project and I kept thinking I’m hot, I’m dirty, my arms and legs hurt, I just wanted to hire someone to finish the job (so did my husband). But we just pushed through and when I was finally done, I was sooo proud of what we did! Once I was done and I had a beautiful front yard that I was proud of, it brought me so much joy. Now every time I walk out the door or pull up to my home, I just smile and I’m full of pride. I hope gardening has done that for you and your wife
Yay! Thats the exact same feeling we had! So happy for you! We never hang out in front of our house coz of embarassment.. But after all were finally done, we spend most of our time in our front yard. We could spend hours just staring at it 😄.. thank you for aharing your experience!

For no experience gardener, the end-result looks very impressive, and it looks like it is done by professional landscaper, great job! We did something similar in our yard several years ago, as for the landscape fabric, we laid it out in the ground first and cut to fit, and then cut holes afterwards where the plants are going, I personally think it was easier way of doing it :-) There are some items you used in this video that caught my interest: the cement scrubber (what is it called?), the magnetic deco to instantly add character to your garage door, the water-hose housing.
Thanks for the tip about the landscape fabric, will definitely try that method next time.
- As for the scrubber, we got it on Amazon “Briggs & Stratton 6328 6196 Spray Nozzle”.
- The garage door: Household Essentials 240 Hinge It Magnetic Decorative Garage Door Accents | Black, Amazon as well.
- “Hose Link” is the brand for the retract hose and we ordered it directly on their website.

You shouldn’t downgrade your accomplishments with “not the best” because it looks great! Not only that but you’ve likely inspired neighbours to do more with their own and that’s how we improve our communities. A little care for person’s property. I spent a lot of time last summer with ours and the neighbour gave up. Since our gardens are attached I offered to do some upkeep. In return, I’ve noticed them watering both yards regularly. A little goes a long way. Keep up the good work!

All I can suggest is moving your magnetic door hinges a couple of feet from the top and bottom edges. You did a fantastic job on your yard!

This the kinda content I’m looking for. I've hated our front yard landscaping too. We finally did it. We're doing diy front and backyard renovation/building retaining wall.
