Edit 12 hrs later: Tanks are def good, mostly Zarya/Dva. I won't lie from a support pov the game mostly felt the same for me. This patch didn't move the needle in terms of addressing tanking pain points, but the patch itself isn't game breaking. Tanks are just kaiju's that duel the other kaiju and I'm in the back chucking anti's and nanoing my kaiju no 8 to beat their kaiju no 9

Yo, I get oversights happen and honestly it's not a big deal, but at the same time I don't think anyone is gonna freak out if you take an extra half-hour to upload while you quickly watch the video through on 2x and fix the audio bugs and missing/wrong descriptions. Probably more worth it than not.

@@alb791 in the way that overwatch was designed to be played in 6v6 and almost two years of failed patches to balance 5v5 proves that. Forget that tanks were duos to one help with the weakness of the other, nah, make the schrodinger tank: almost impossible to kill and it's easily shut down.

This feels like a "Quick Play hacked" balance patch
Except almost all changes are raw fucking numbers, something no one asked for. Hacked, 1st april, content creators patch all had some creative and fun ideas, this patch has none.
And none of it solves any problems, counterswaps are still here, tank has more agency/power = more free value from swapping to enemy's tank counter.

Guys I don't think the ow2 team has the same ideas as ow1 devs. Ow1 devs wanted to make the perfect game and said they would NEVER revert changes. This isn't about making the game perfect - it's about changing the meta and adjusting for newly released or overpowered or underpowered heroes.

FYI the explanation of the Adaptation shields change is wrong. Allies still receive 75 HP but it now only costs Ball 50 of his own HP per ally.

What do you mean by cost?
It's a ratio, 2:3. If ball has, say, 200 adaptive shields, he can give out 75 individual per 50. 75x4 = 300, so if he had 200 shield, he'd be able to give out 300. I'm pretty sure that's how it works

@@alfredocaceres4680 It's basically the same thing Apple does with their product design. They legit just swap back and forth between the same design every few generations. From flat, to rounded, then flat again. Because it just creates a sense of "new". The Blizzard team isn't trying to make the game perfectly balanced, they're just buffing certain aspects every once in a while to make it feel new and then buffing other aspects later to bring them back up to par.

Plus a bunch of little audio and visual changes honestly it's been a decent patch so far for me anyways not sure about the Champion sweat lords experience tho but for me on average I'm having fun in qp and arcade and all that with occasional comp matches

Do you play Ashe? Have you ever pressed Q just to see your Butler Omnic death in the top right corner of the screen in 2 seconds?
This ultimate is much less strong than you may think of it. If there's Ana or Sombra(which is pretty often seen pick vs Ashe) you can just throw away your Q button you'll not need it.
In most cases opponents tank needs only to keep BOB busy for 2-3 secs so that his team may kill it freely.
I didn't even mention this ultimate's cost. It's super huge, you won't be able to use it more than 3 times in a game unless you're good as fck yet not good enough to win the game in few minutes
@@Az-ecim No, I'm not much of an Ashe player, I do need to practice more but I have seen both sides of BOB either being melted or used to pressure an exposed backline.
It doesn't need to be the strongest ult if it used correctly, I just don't understand why they need to apply passives to him instead of just tweaking his damage and health.
There's a lot this patch I don't agree with put this felt like a random choice to me.
@@daviddiett2168 Than you understand that still is an ultimate. Strongest Ashe's ability which is supposed to bring at least some profit considering it is to be used 3 times in the whole game tops
If Ashe uses it correctly it just have to bring some profit. If opponents can just melt it in seconds, ok but make it keep em busy for a little bit more. Cause BOB is static no one struggles to headshot him. This patch make him survive that shots for a lil bit longer and that's good. He can still be hacked, sleeped, booped or pushed down the cliffs or into some close space rooms from where he doesn't do anything. But now these pushes aren't That hardly efficient and that's also good. Still doesn't make him any disbalanced.

So, I thought this patch was going to be used as an exaggeration of tank issues so they could go "This is why we should go back to 6v6"... They might even use it as an excuse to get rid of open queue, so that everyone's forced into Role Queue.
Local area man chooses to play open queue and complains about the inherent concepts that make open queue open queue.
The game has never been balanced for Open Queue, but this is also flat out wrong. Nearly every game I've played in Open Queue GM last season was 2-1-2

There’s a secret nerf for ramattra as his nemesis form cooldown is 11 seconds as it used to be 7 seconds
I think it’s a bug as all his cooldowns are at 11 seconds
I saw this too but when I go into an actual game it's 7 again it's just the testing range it looks like
As a Tank player, I don't need to be more unkillable, Tanks are already good at Tanking damage. Tanks are bad at Tanking CCs and bad at making cover for teammates while also taking space.
Just a suggestion:
- Maybe add CC reduction/mitigation on Armor health
- A passive that reduces the CC effect by half after getting CCd means if you get naded and then get sleep darted you take half less of the sleep dart effect.
- Introduce new abilities to Tank in the form of Barriers. Yes, Bunker and Goats comps were a traumatic experience, however, that is because two tanks with shields, a busted op Brig, and Bap were allowed back then in OW1. With only one tank now, having a deployable shield or support kit like Rammattra/MirrorWatch Widow Barrier, a mini Dva succ, or a Soldier Heal pad could help.
Tanks shouldn't be good at tanking damage in OW, they should also be CC mitigators/denials.
Or we could have 2 tanks again like in ow1 but just reduce the shield damage absorbed when 2 shields play together

Nerfed his left click, right click, and made his grenade really bad. His damage fall off was nerfed so many times that I lost count.

its weird because cassidy to be fair over performs in close range now. Couple head shots as you close in, flashbang, barrage, roll, barrage and as long as he got aim most people are gone. However cassidy imo was a great idea of pseudo-sniper for those that dont like characters like widow or ashe. So i would've touched flashbang in a way where it was usable long range, like making an ACTUAL flashbang without range limit that makes blind enemies more vulnerable to headshots, something like that.

The patch before this they said we dont want cassidy to be so tanky as a dps hitscan so they removed or decreased the damage reduction components to his kit. Now theyre saying we want him to be a tanky hitscan so were nerfing his range but not reverting any of the damage reduction changes. Lmao what? Is this hero the new Nerf Genji meme or what
It’s miraculous that they have somehow made the strongest and most impactful role the worst and most miserable to play, while gaslighting themselves into thinking it needs further buffs without addressing any of the actual issues tank players have. This game is so cooked unless some serious changes in the team’s approach happen.
I always see how people complain about the issues that tanks have but never see what those issues are specifically or any suggestions to fix those said issues. I don’t play tank so im not aware of what they are and just want to be educated on what they are and suggestions to fix them?

@@grizzegrizzThe issue is that the tank player on a team is as strong as two players (due to the power of the two tanks in 6v6 being put in the hands of one tank in 5v5) making the gameplay asymmetrical and the tank player by far the most valuable person on a team. If one player is that strong, they are also the most valuable to kill, resulting in most games becoming “focus down the tank to win.” Due to tanks being so powerful and hard to kill though, a lot of the time instead of playing strategically and catching the tank out of position (which they don’t really get punished for as hard as the other roles due to their insane survivability) the most effective tactic is to counter-swap the tank. This cycle is boring and unskillful in most peoples eyes, and forces DPS and support players to swap off the characters they actually want to play in order to win, and just makes the tank experience an overall miserable game of rock paper scissors.
I’m no game designer so I can’t offer a perfect solution, and I doubt anyone truly can, but I can tell you this patch definitely isn’t the way to go. Tanks are already insanely powerful, and making them even stronger and more impactful will only force players to counter-swap to hard focus them even more. Obviously a lot of people propose 6v6, which I do think would fix a lot of issues, but I don’t have much faith that the dev team would ever go back to that because in a way it would be them admitting defeat. Unless they do 6v6 though, they really need to look at each individual character (including DPS and supports) and look at how they interact, synergize, and counter tanks and change it on a character by character basis. Big sweeping buffs to an already powerful role will NOT help, yet they continue to do stuff like this.
@@grizzegrizz 6v6 and 5v5 debates will get you up to speed. Literally any of them. The point of 5v5 was queue times, no if's and's or butt's, and it definitely did not solve those, top 500 tank is diamond 1 lmao nobody is playing the role even by a worse margin than when we needed 2 tanks for every game. Then there's endless reasons 6v6 was better for gameplay. A tank's weakness could be mitigated by their counterpart, like dva helping winston or sigma helping orisa even if they were a lil broken back when they could play together. Since they can't now, the entire game is counterswap the enemy tank. AND the tank gets 100% of the blame, in 90% of the games. Whether it truly was their fault or not.

On a more serious note though he wasn’t even oppressive this meta. Sure he was S tier for sure, but he’s easily counter able and has a ton of weaknesses. But no sure let’s take away a ton of his right click damage and nerf his already poor range into the ground.

@@Ashkanman Literally every high level Tank player says Tanks are strong balance wise but just feel miserable to play. Buffs aren't the answer unless you're trash at the game. The answer is reducing the stress of Tank and unfun it is to eat basically every ability from the enemy team.

also a little hidden nerf to ram the cooldown of his form is increase to 11 second this is not written in the patch notes however it is in game
Boy it's not a nerf! It's a bug causing all of his cooldowns to be 11 secs.
His nemesis only had 7 secs cooldown. If they really made it 11, literally nobody would play Ram!
So the support for 6v6 is gonna be at an all time high, with manual feedback from the community the devs will be under more pressure than ever
As a tank main, this is horrible, i wanted to be able to pick more tanks whenever i want, this only means i need to counters swap more often

Played before reading the patch notes, and honestly counter swapping didn't matter. Maybe it's just how low ranks play, but I went through several games on Doomfist, the enemy swapped to Orisa or Roadhog, and it wasn't really impactful.
@@Catbeans99 This isn't about tank vs tank it's about tank vs literally everyone else on the other team. You go Doom and you have to deal with Ana, Zen, Sombra, Pharah. And that's not including all the other characters they could be running to counter you or the other tank.

@@putterz Why? I see no changes that make you prioritize tank as target. They didn't buff their dmg, they did buff tanks survivability. So it's actually more easy and valuable for you to kill supports and damage guys first

@@psychonut348 support was good for like two seasons before tanks started whining, they blanket nerfed the entire role, we went into Mauga meta for half a season, the second half of season 8 was actually pretty fun, and then season 9 pretty much exclusively ruined supports and since they’ve double downed on it with keeping cauterize at 20%, somehow managing to nerf awful supports like Weaver, managing to buff the only good one in Lucio, not addressing the fact that Mercy has been pretty awful for 3 straight seasons, or the fact that it literally doesn’t have a role passive anymore. Support hasn’t really been fun since that Ram Queen Orisa meta at the end of season 8, and I am of the hot take opinion that honestly support needs to be good for tank to feel good. If we can do our job, you can do yours. Tanks complained supports out of the game and now complain that they aren’t able to work well because they die too fast (because there’s next to no notable healing), and now each of them is at their individual strongest so it’s less fun to play into on any role.
Support was strong in seasons 6 and 7, I’ll give you that, but I honestly think tanks in 8 and 11 and DPS in 9 and 10 have been stronger than support ever was. Support needs SOMETHING right now.

The Overwatch classification should be one in the open format, but it would be like this:
You chose 2 tanks and you can't choose more or 2 dps or 2 healers, it would be 5 against 5 but with a limit of two heroes for each role, that is, you could have different compositions with balanced tanks, you could play 2 tanks, 2 dps and a healer, or 1 tank, 2 dps and 2 heals or 2 tanks, 1 dps and 2 heals, this would be a general rank avoiding trolling like the game in such a role I will troll and also the game would have the balance of the old combos in a balanced and intelligent way. •When I say balanced tank it is in the open queue format with less life, because by function since there can only be one tank as mandatory they have to be acquired with exaggerated life and exaggerated damage, and the way I said it wouldn't work To have 3 of each hero making a break like 3 tanks and two heals or some role left out, because there would necessarily have to be at least 1 of each role and a maximum of 2 of each role.

I wish they’d try reworking tank role to where they have similar health pools as other roles, while retaining their defensive abilities and upping their dps. Tank focus defense abilities, dps focus mobility, and support focus healing abilities. Tank just has too much weight in its current state.
Good thing to note because Bob now has Tank passive, Bob is also resistant to Ana's sleep dart (3s duration instead of 5s)

Mauga isn't impossible to counter play as a rein player. Literally just counter charge him when he charges and shield when he over drives. Maybe learn the counter play dynamics instead of complaining all the time.
