Tim, have a couple of nights at the Rock Hotel... a throwback (in a good way) to how it was and still should be in the world of hospitality. It aint perfect, but John Lennon got married there and you might just get the Apes gracing you with their company on the glorious outdoor terrace whilst you reflect and look out to Africa across the strait.
Can people go on that rock?

I used to work in a plastics factory doing shift work for 12 years , but closed down , I would of rather have tims job xx
Auto blinds are one of the better hotel amenities I've seen
What a gorgeous hotel. The room is clean and elegant and the bathroom is just fantastic. Even the balcony is quite wonderful.
Casper seems such a happy kid. 😊
I worked and stayed on this boat for 2 weeks. I work for a company that valets, cleans boats, cruises etc. absolutely loved this concept and idea. they got the same thing in the netherlands as well and many other places. I travel a lot myself with this job and understand how lucky people like ourselves are to be able to travel so much!

Absolutely fabulous. You didn't give an indication of the prices Tim but I guess the saying applies "If you have to ask then you can't afford it!" 😂😂
7 nights from sept 1st to sept 8th is just under 3100 for the rock suite. Probably more expensive during high season. Breakfast is included in that price but other meals are not

That is the sparkliest hotel I've ever seen. It manages to be classy instead of flashy.
I think the Sunborn 5* Hotel is nicer than the Dubai 7* Hotel you stayed in. The food looked amazing! I don't like large platefuls of food so that tasting menu would suit me down to the ground. Definitely worth saving my pennies for a holiday there.
Stayed here in 2019. Found it very "Fur coat, no knickers", almost like a shrine to the TOWIE brigade. Still, each to their own, but give me the Rock Hotel any day.

We were in Gib just before you, at the end of April. Stayed in the Holiday Inn Express, but had a meal on the Sunborn. Loved it so much, we're going back with our friends at the end of May & actually staying on the Sunborn this time

Finally a hotel that I've stayed in. My room had a black marble bathroom but no seperate toilet but it had a bidet and bottom sprayer. And you could see through to it from the wardrobe too. We had Molton brown stuff. No seating area but the the view from our balcony was even better. Also loved breakfast.

Another amazing post! The bar with the blue superman lights and other lights is beautiful and it's great to see how you appreciated all those small very sparkly gold tiles in the bathroom - really nice! You should do some posts on cruise ships and river-type excursions! And the mountain view in the morning looked neat with the clouds on the mountain. I'm guessing the spinner think at the buffet is to keep bugs away? So funny, click the box in front of Gabi's face -- you guys look very happy! Best, from Colorado

This hotel cruise ship is amazing!! Id love this place! I love hotels! The pool deck sounds lovely Id be up there swimming and have a drink at the bar.
Welcome back to Gibraltar. As someone who lives close by, i've never had a reason to stay on the sunborn, so its great to see how nice the rooms are there! We have really had a heatwave at the beginning of May so you did well with the weather.. tho i noticed the dreaded levanter cloud on day 2 on your video!

I still think Id take a nice little family run hotel in Greece over this (good thing because I cant afford it anyway!) but it does look lovely.
I worked for a while cutting glass tiles like the gold ones on the wall. If they are like the ones we worked with on the mosaics, they make them by enclosing a thin sheet of gold leaf in between the glass, so technically, yes, they are "real" gold. Just not very much of it. Those tiles cost quite a bit, I think they were $1 to $5 each tile (can't remember) 30 years ago.

Quite suprised about the cost of the Rock Suite you stayed in ( still a lot money i know) but in comparison to many other hotels you have shown us i thought it was really good value!! Absolute banger tim. Don't care price sign me up. Love everything about this. Only thing it said spa is that like sauna etc. Ether way brilliant in everyway and more family time👍👍

My very first holiday abroad when i was 18 im now 66 and its still one of my best xx stayed with friends and it was the year Saturday Night Fever came out there were 20 k sailors on the island and me and my friends taught them the famous dance ha ha xx
My town used to have flotel on the river. It wasn't a boat, it was actually a hotel on the river. I don't know why it was demolished, probably part of the big revamp. Think you would have liked it.
I regularly visit Gibraltar and am looking to stay here along with the Rock Hotel. Great informative video.
