I have a Thule rack that looks almost identical but cost $400 so if this is only $300 that's not bad. this looks great! hey you guys said you don't recommend to do kayaks on top but that's what I bought mine for and I put two kayaks on there a few times a year and have no issues.
The limitation is in the actual hard top since it's not made to support heavy items, so lighter weight kayaks should be just fine! -Merideth

I see a couple people have asked if it works with the sky one touch roof and I wonder the same thing. I would assume that you would not open the roof while the rack is attached. Would like to occasionally transport a couple of paddleboards.
I was wondering if this, with a basket, could hold a second spare tire without breaking the roof..?
Funny you mention the rubber is to make things not slip but that is the T track system. I could not figure this out at first and there's no instructions with the bars about how to use the T track system.
Is there a rack for a soft top? What I am looking to do is carry a 11.5 hard paddleboard. That could be on a trailer rack or roof. Jeep Wrangler Sport 4 door soft top. thanks
So I have a question? I know this for the jl. But since I have a 2015 jk Sahara. Could this still be used on my Jeep. It seems the only deference is that the rain gutter just goes all the way to the back. Seems like it would still be useable for all Jeep’s just would have to mount it toward the front. Or are the big measurements different from the jl to jk.
How do you attach the mount to the bar? Can't find instructions anywhere.
Can I use this on the sky one touch ? Opening halfway ?
This is only compatible with the factory hard top! Hope this helps.

So far so good , no problems . My tent it’s just 65 kg .
@@artisansourdoughbreadbaker8538 Sounds good, i have the Sky one touch power roof, but still feels like 3 of these would support a roof top tent, but obviously don't want to bust my gutter rails nor my actual roof as removing that would be a horror :( Will look into this a bit more, but thanks for the quick reply :)
Is that still working for you? The hard top, without reinforcement is only rated to 150 lbs I think, so I would be worried about causing damage with a roof top tent (most people with a roof top tent have a roof rack reinforcing the top or avoiding the top altogether by attaching to hard points on the body).
What do you recommend for carrying a kayak?

They aren't that bad. The wing shape dampens the sound a little. But let's be real here, what Jeep owner is bothered by wind noise? 😂
I have these crossbars and a cargo box installed. When it goes above about 50mph, the steering wheel starts to wobble, any solution to fix this issue?

This is specifically for the hard top because it mounts to the drip rails. At the moment we don't have a soft top version for this available. We do have exoskeleton style racks that would work however! -Merideth

Not Likely, you'd want to go with a Yakima HD set-up for that sort of rigidity and weight.

You can mount up whatever you'd like within the weight restriction limit of the hard top! A kayak would be fine, but a heavier canoe may not be.
Can this go on a 2014 JK unlimited?

Lucas Giles There is also a MOPAR “roof basket” that can be bought for this roof rack. The weight limit on the “roof basket” is 150 lbs so, by inference, one can logically state that MOPAR says the roof rack itself can actually handle 150 lbs + the weight if the roof basket itself.

Anyone used these to lift and hold the hard top for storage?
I would highly recommend against doing that since these guys are only attached by the rain gutters on the hardtop itself. When it comes to storing your hardtop with some type of hoist, you should take off any accessories like this rack. -Zach

This Mopar Removable Roof Rack will not fit on JK model Wranglers without modifications, it is made specifically for 2018 and newer JL's with the factory hard top. -Zach
Any insight into what modification it needs to fit on a JKU? The gutters seem the same. My question would be if the roof mounts are movable on the rails or are they fixed?
I wish there was a way to make these work on soft top JL’s...

I feel like the front rack is way to close to the rear???? If you have 10ft kayak you’d want the front spaced out more. I put mine on the freedom panels cuz they are fucking stupid I refuse to take them off
