I didn't know that there's university track. You're information has very much given me a whole new insights and thanks to you both for making this video. I have applied for the embassy one which closed on the 02/96/23 for undergraduate. First screening is still in progress. However, I would also like to apply for the university recommend one. I took science and have a GPA of 3.4 out of 4. Both Advance mathematics and physics are "A" and the rest are "B". I want to apply for undergraduate civil engineering at the university of Tokyo through university recommended and I'd appreciate if you both can assist me through contacting a professor at U-Tokyo in civil engineering department so I'd apply online.

Good luck! Yes for University recommendation you need to check the website of the university regularly , it usually opens in Aug-Sept. The screening would be done by a committee of the university. For professors, do look out for one and maybe send an informal email as to what you are studying and what you would like to study ( What interested you to approach him, what work of his interested you ) and then wait for a response! If you get a response from a Professor it’s a good sign! Good luck!

What to fill in 'Remarks' section in Education column and do i have to submit report card that is given in 10th/11th ?
In Remarks section you can highlight that : 12 years of education completed in English Language as a medium of instruction. Not really you do not need it.
Hi team ,
This year's research student application form only requires a preliminary form to be submitted and the rest of the documents have to be submitted only if you are selected. Please provide a little information regarding this.
For research students ( in India) you have a separate form mentioned in the website ( linked in the description) that is the Preliminary form. You have to fill your details there and submit the form via email ( email id mentioned in description). The deadline for this is 15th May. If your preliminary form is shortlisted, you will be asked to post the documents in hardcopy via post. This process is only when you pass the preliminary screening and get called for document screening.
The document screening consists of : Submission of your application form ( separate form from the preliminary one), Letter of Recommendation, Health Form, Research Plan, Past and Present Field of Study, Academic Transcripts ( Transcript attested copies of every semester, degree ( you get a copy of your degree issued by your university)
Everything mentioned above you will submit once you pass the preliminary form screening.

it depends on your subject! Usually you get guided it is a good learning to explore for yourself! You also have credit classes too

you can wait but if you want you can start preparing to get them after you have mailed the preliminary application form!

Is undergraduate really worth it in Japan for technology courses like engineering and architecture courses? Also as a PCM student, does your class 11th marks matter more if you want to study in Japan (Technology field) through MEXT?

So if I a person belongs from the biology field...they have to give maths exam as well (ungrad student currently in 12th)
for doctoral program we have to attach master's transcripts of each semester only or do we have to attach bachelor's transcripts as well
Each one is preferred! For Masters have all documents for every semester for Bachelors if you have the transcript attested by university, degree attested by university it should not be an issue!

If you send documents of extracurricular activities you should know you’ll not get them back so don’t .
What about students who have skipped a grade in primary school? For example, I skipped 4th grade and went straight to 5th after 3rd.
You can mention that you were promoted a grade earlier due to whatever reasons ( age factor, excellent results change of school etc) - ( mention it in remarks)

Do we have to submit the original documents?
Original documents mean you can submit the transcript copies that are issued by the school or get the copies of the transcript attested by the school or even notarized will work!

for school change you can write both names separated with a slash ( / )

Please refer to 24:41. The documents should have sets of original and copies ( copies for transcript should be attested by the school/ University, if not notarized will work too)

@@arpitverma3000 10th transcript copy and 12th admit card if not declared by 20th May. If you can wait till 20th may do that and attach the result of 12th too

Don't send the original becuz in India it's hard to get more than one original so u can take a colour photocopy of the original and then notarize it

It is advised to post otherwise check with the embassy contact number if they will receive your application by dropping them at the gate. Do get a confirmation first

make your professor/ teacher sign 2 copies of the same letter put it in different envelope each and seal it. out the 2 envelopes in the same package with other documents

You don't have to worry about conversion. usually if you have other co-curricular activities it will help you!

i am uncertain with how many written exam we would need to go though ,
for example if i am wanting to be admitted in tokyo tech for computer science masters program and i do pass the MEXT scholarship program.

One exam conducted by the embassy then one screening from Tokyo Tech ( to convert or enroll from Research student to Masters or Phd) Tokyo Tech entrance maybe taken after you reach Japan

No transfer or Migration. Only 12th passing certificate if received or result transcript . No, for MEXT you have to be present in japan, no Online.
as i am currently in XII wanted to apply for undergraduate section but as you said this procedure requires 8-10 months of time. So after XII . Shall I wait for that 8-10 months of time period for my selection process and what guarantees that i will be selected ?
(The main thing that i wanted to say that, should i drop 1 year on my indian universities for trying for the MEXT scholarship .)
not sure how it works in India, but in my country, 12th grade ends in june and university starts in october. so its possible to just apply in april for mext and go through the process while getting into univeristy in your own country and attending it until you get the scholarship. this way you dont have to worry about losing one whole year

you don’t select universities in UG during application process, only subjects. Once you enter you do language course and then you’re assigned universities you may get to give your preference too. You don’t apply to uni individually ( this is only for Research ~ Masters PhD students)

3 sets ( 1 set of all original and 2 photo copies) and sent it to your nearest Embassy/ Consulate.

Sure! There are several Business Schools in Japan, Check Nagoya Business School and some more options which is not a research based course

10th and 12th would. They are the most important. Some Consulates or Embassy of several countries have different requirements.

How should I fill the column of the educational level.
Because in India, Elementary is from 1-8th
And secondary is from 9-12th
Primary - 5 years ( 1-5 class ) ; Lower Secondary 5 years ( 6th to 10th class ) Upper Secondary ( 11th and 12th).
if you have changed schools write all the schools name falling in these 3 sections

You need not mention Jossa Counselling. just write ' Presently completed 12th in ( add the month and year), currently preparing for Higher studies application.

You don’t have to convert it the embassy can do that. Submit your application in cgpa and % format. You can still apply for Research student

Hello I’ve been selected for embassy recommendation.I am yet to receive final selection result from the government of Japan. I have been set to go a another college in my country which is very prestigious. Can I know what are my chances of getting selected by Japan if I have been selected by the embassy? I am scared if I don’t pass the secondary screening i would loose my opportunity to study in other college as well
I understand! Since the selection process is long and the % of getting in is difficult to say ! You can always join a college ( don’t mention that in your interview) and leave after a few months once you get a confirmation

you can look for courses in Accounting in Japanese universities ( Business Schools) and check the course curriculum! MEXT does allow you to hold a degree in the field you like
