People keep telling my wife and I that us homeschooling our kids prevents them from being socially well adjusted. Meanwhile at school:
Our 14 year old is on a full scholarship to the state University's aerospace engineering program. He's not even old enough for high school and he is in his 3rd semester of college, enrolled in calculus III and his first real engineering classes. He was admitted in what would have been his 7th grade year.
We are just so weary of government school advocates instantly questioning his emotional maturity and socialization skills. The irony is that our son is more emotionally mature than they are, and with superior socialization skills - able to take their shaming, guilt-tripping, insulting, and other manipulative tactics with grace.
I got home schooled 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade. Back to public school through 12th. High school had elective courses and this was when I returned to learning. 5th-8th grade was stricly incarceration in a madhouse full of children angry at being incarcerated. It's just the low-calorie version of prison. Junior prison.
The school would suspend them for life if they dressed up as Trump

I dressed my pit bull Henry up as a school kid: shirt, pants, shoes and even a back pack. The whole works. The school board still wouldn't let me enroll my baby in Kindergarten. Do I have a lawsuit? Henry identifies as a child and is brokenhearted.

I am a high school teacher. Our school tolerates these weirdos wearing things that are clearly against the dress code. Inappropriate. Tails, cat ears, fishnet hosery, leashes and collars, some very revealing. No one says a damn word. But I'm telling you this, if a boy is wearing a baseball cap, the administration will attack in full force NO HATS IN SCHOOL.
When I was in high school (late 90s), they made us turn our wrestling t-shirts inside out.

when I went to private catholic school, we were considered pretty libertine because we didnt have to wear uniforms(slacks and collar shirt for boys and button up blouse an d skirt for girls was the dress code)

While Obama was in office, I saw Obama shirts all the time. Once Trump was in office, Trump shirts weren't allowed. My son wore a Trump shirt on picture day. Side note: he was a student in the school where I taught. Needless to say, he was told to take it off. I told administration that he would NOT be taking it off until his picture was taken and then he would put on a different, non-Trump t-shirt. It makes my blood boil that they allowed Hussein shirts and not Trump shirts.

For many parents (especially if they are dual income and/or if the parents have little formal education) they can feel like the task is impossible. I would recommend finding a good Bible believing Church that will get behind your mission to teach your kids to love God. Nobody can do it alone so don't feel bad. The courts are not on our side.
All they have to do is file for restraining order… biting is assault. Number one justification for restraining order. Then when the little biter gets too close, the cops can arrest it. Usually telling the school that you will do this, gets them to take action… however, they may be so far gone. It’s hard to say.

I was a lunch lady for 26 years. I retired two years ago. I worked at a very large elementary. Each class had only 2 minutes to get through the line. More and more kids would come through the line meowing and pretending to be cats. They were scatching and clawing other students. Totally disrupting the line and trays and drinks would br falling to the ground. The first year this started the administration would stop it. The next year the administration changed and the behavior increased. I just left because the enviroment was complerely changing. Needless to say all over this nation there is a shortage of lunch ladies.
Teachers too, that's why we have the ones teaching that are getting hired instead and this stuff continues & perpetuates.

@@ConspiracySmurf biting is assault and could be battery… justifying obtaining a restraining order… so if the kids go near the kids who have a restraining order against them, go within a certain distance of the one with the restraining order, the little biters could be arrested… hardly any parent thinks of this… but just the threat of this happening will likely get the school and the parents of the sick children to do something. But, yes it could be harassment as well and that may or may not be included in a justification for a restraining order or other laws that might precipitate other legal protections. I dealt with this several times at my kids school… it’s the only way to get them to do something, it seems… after having talked to other parents who can’t seem to get the school on board with helping prevent kids from being threatened by other kids.
Don’t forget, our government has deemed that parents who go to school board meetings and push back against this insanity are the problem, I believe their words were “domestic terrorists”. Let’s Go Brandon!
