  • Welcome to my channel, thank you for watching my videos and please don't forget to share. Your views are important, they are my recompense for my invested time required to share my videos with you and help my channel to grow, one little step at a time.
    I share with you my successful flexible and moldable cold porcelain clay recipe.
    Important notes:
    1. Glue : Don't use School glue it is too diluted, but Elmer-Glue all multi purpose glue - extra strong formula.
    2. Stearic acid is very important ingredient to add, usually used in cosmetic industry, with 2 important functions: firstly : emollient and softener and secondly : is an stabilizer and thickener.
    3. Glue and Cornstarch are in grams and added by weight and not cups.
    4. At the end of the cooking process clay must be non sticky on touch but keep stickiness inside. If it is too sticky, cook 15-30 seconds more, than verify the consistency again. Avoid overcooking. Undercooked clay can be heated/cooked for few seconds more and corrected but overcooked clay will be too firm, rubbery and impossible to work with.
    5. If you are making the clay for the first time, please follow all steps, measure each ingredient, but the experience of seeing and feeling the right consistency will come with an experience.

    Respiratory Issues: Inhaling stearic acid particles can cause respiratory problems, such as coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. ALSO Allergic Reactions: Some individuals may be allergic to stearic acid, which can lead to allergic reactions, such as hives, itching, and swelling.

    • @ckdesign429
      @ckdesign429 Před 7 měsíci

      @@roccothedubaiboi4812 elmers glue is PVA glue, depending on the brand you use, the PVA percentage varies slightly from brand to brand but a lot of white glues (the ones that aren't a washable formula) have PVA but this also includes wood glues. Elmers may have more water in it than more expensive brands like linocut or Tacky Glue. Some water will evaporate during the cooking process, but not all, that is why air dry clay shrinks. If you have a more expensive PVA with a higher PVA content you may need more water to help kick the polymerization in the corn starch.
      Look up DIY cornstarch bio plastics and you will gain some insight to what is going on with the water and acid.
      Then you will come away wondering why this recipe has two different types of acids in it, a long chain fatty acid (Stearic) and short chain (vinegar), which the author might not be able answer, then you may be on the road to becoming a chemist when you find several white papers which use Stearic acid and skip vinegar all together....

      you can use :
      lemon juice or vinegar ...
      you can change the glycerin... and replace it with... petroleum jelly
      if you want to color your porcelain .....
      There are several options..
      ~~Put a small drop of food
      coloringde ...
      ~~ You can use food gel ...
      one drop at a time
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      *** VERY IMPORTANT ***
      ***********************
      **The two mentioned above... each drop must be mixed very well in the porcelain, until the color is uniform ***
      *****************************
      ~~Acrylic paint , I personally
      don't like ! you have to
      put it several times and it
      will become sticky ... you
      can put cornstarch to
      thicken ....
      ** Except that...**
      the porcelain becomes
      drier and loses that
      flexibility. It dries faster
      and tends, while drying,
      cracked so you have to
      plug the cracks and know
      very long.... between each
      layer to fill the holes ... it
      must be sanded so that
      the porcelain becomes
      smooth .... this option...
      *** DOES NOT DO THAT ***
      *****************************
      I hope it will help you, for my part .. I prefer to use .... a small can of gel or liquid, because the gel is very expensive and continue our good old method... Painting porcelain with acrylic paint... it is not necessary that your acrylic paint is shiny...I always take the matt paint and I use varnish at the end.. then I am able to protect my
